Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

@moonpie32 I also don't have any symptoms and am 5 weeks tomorrow. I didn't have any symptoms in my first pregnancy either all the way through except tiredness so hoping this is just normal for me.

lizwells2020 · 28/01/2022 07:35

@moonpie32 @Tyla525 same here. This is my first pregnancy and I’m 4+4 (4+6 really as ovulated a bit early) and no symptoms at all, a bit tired and headachey but I can be like that anyway. My breasts aren’t sore at all and no nausea, never thought I would want to be feeling sick!

HMFx · 28/01/2022 07:39

Glad to hear you all feeling the same as me! I am 4+5 and no symptoms apart from cramping! The past few days I've felt great but just enjoying it as I know it might not last 😅 xx

lizwells2020 · 28/01/2022 07:50

@HMFx ah yes I’ve been having so crampy feelings too- not quite like period pain but hard to describe.

Very reassuring you are all feeling the same- I’ve been listening to podcasts where everyone’s saying they’re super ill already by week 4 and it kind of freaked me out!

Trying81 · 28/01/2022 08:20

2 October here, according to my flo app. CB said 2-3 weeks on Monday when I tested

My boobs are killing me, and getting some twinges / cramps

Worried about things going wrong, so it’ll be nice to be able to talk these things through on here

BecLJ · 28/01/2022 08:25

I've been getting cramps on and off too. Occasionally feel nauseous. Almost wishing for more symptoms!

Is anyone giving up caffeine completely? I did last time but with a toddler now I think I'd really miss having a coffee in the morning!

Hi All, I'm 3weeks +6. I've been having different waves of cramps, feeling more tired, having different types of CM but that seems to have eased the last day or so. I've had the odd prickly nipple, feeling very warm at night and needing to get up for a wee and losing things more easily 🤷🏻‍♀️ I felt implantation happen and had some pink cm the day after. It's completely normal for everybody to have very different or no symptoms. Most articles like to suggest that no symptoms should really be experienced before a missed period (mine would be due today/tomorrow) so try not to worry. The only thing I am doing is running to the bathroom when I feel a whoosh down below as I'm nervous about bleeding/AF.

What are everyone's views on sharing with close family and friends at this stage? I've already told a few friends and my parents because they all knew we were trying and I tend to be very open. I also work in healthcare so feeling more on edge about Covid.

Leibee87 · 28/01/2022 08:34

Yeah apart from feeling crampy and my boobs feeling heavy and ALL the peeing I've not had much else. Definitely thought it would be worse but am sure it will get there at some point it's definitely reassuring to hear others feel the same

@BecLJ i tried the first day I found out but lead to an absolute banging headache so I have one cafine drink in the morning. Apparently having some is ok?

Leibee87 · 28/01/2022 08:41

@Timeaftertime21 4 people know for us (my bestie, my mum guessed and then last night we told one of my dh brother and his wife) I think it's ok. My mum wasn't too helpful - she was pleased don't get me wrong but was just saying it's way to early anything can happen etc. BUT like my best friend told me previously, if you kept it secret and something was to happen then you wouldn't have the support and we told dh brother because he had no one to talk to about it (apart from me) but I think that will be it. Going to book a private scan for 7 weeks so we can tell his parents /my sis (and also to make sure something is there because I'm paranoid it won't be and it's just my body playing tricks on me haha although I feel the 5 pregnancy tests have proved that)

moonpie32 · 28/01/2022 09:07

@Tyla525 @lizwells2020 last pregnancy I knew a few other people who had every single symptom and I was sat craving oranges feeling quite smug 🙈 I'm hoping for more of the same in all honesty!
I'm feeling exhausted but that's a general feeling for me after a hard week at work 😅

It's amazing though - 2nd pregnancy yet the anxiety hasn't changed at all - puts us ladies through a lot of stress!

moonpie32 · 28/01/2022 09:08

@BecLJ I gave up last time too but I googled this morning as I was sorting the toddler out at 6 this morning and you can have 200mg a day...roughly 2 cups! Grin

BecLJ · 28/01/2022 09:16

@moonpie32 @Leibee87 thanks, maybe I'll just stick to one cup in the morning Smile

@Timeaftertime21 I've told my mum because I know I'd want her support either way and I think she would guess!

Is it strange that I'm already stressing out about maybe having to tell my work in the future (fingers crossed). I only went back from maternity leave in November!

OP posts:
Leibee87 · 28/01/2022 09:24

@BecLJ I'm stressing about that already too. My contract ends in July (but it might be extended till Dec idk) but trying to get another job within the same company or a new job but I don't think that would look good either so shrugs not going to worry about it now though.

BuchananBabies · 28/01/2022 10:04

@BecLJ and @Leibee87 I found out on the Sunday and returned from Mat leave on the Monday 🙈, I told my manager because I don't want to travel to the office on public transport while pregnant. He just laughed and said it happened all the time.

Trying81 · 28/01/2022 10:12

We’ve told close family, mainly for support

I’ve also told my line manager at work, mainly to explain the time off for appts etc as I already have a long term condition which I have time off for - and in case there’s days where I’m struggling as I have quite a stressful job

Darcy1990 · 28/01/2022 10:13

I’m so new to this and not up to speed with all of the abbreviations but tested positive on Monday! Smile My first one - I’m super excited but my fiancé has been freaking out a little…wish I could help him or at least relate to his feelings but I just can’t wipe the grin off my face Grin I hope he come to terms with it soon! Anyone else’s parters freaking out?

No symptoms for me just sore boobs and slight pulling sensation in lower abdomen.

Edmarie · 28/01/2022 10:25

@Darcy1990 My partner is also freaking out a bit! It's kind of hilarious, I just said to him, 'you know we were TRYING to get pregnant right?'
What did they think was going to happen?!
I'm hoping over time (I only told him last night) he will get his head around it. I was talking to my sister who has 2 kids, and she reminded me he has until October to mentally prepare.
(I'm also currently trying to learn the abbreviations, there are so many!)

Darcy1990 · 28/01/2022 11:09

@Edmarie thanks, I am so glad to hear mine isn’t the only one… Grin

I’m sure they will both make awesome dad’s and partners when the time comes!

I’m guessing it’s your first one too? How exciting!

Edmarie · 28/01/2022 11:22

@Darcy1990 Don't worry, I think lots of partners have a rush of anxiety and react a bit freaked when they find out. I'm glad you're just enjoying this news though, and your partner worrying a bit isn't changing that!
Yes this is our first too, very exciting and scary :)

mooonbaby · 28/01/2022 12:26

@BecLJ I’ve just got my BFP today. I’m also 31 and have a 16 month old DS. How do you feel about the age gap? I think it’s perfect. I’m so excited

Due October 2022
BecLJ · 28/01/2022 12:41

@mooonbaby congratulations!

I've always wanted a 2 year age gap because that's what my sister and I had and we were really close. So I'm excited about that too - although a little scary thinking of looking after a toddler and a newborn!

OP posts:
mooonbaby · 28/01/2022 13:36

@BecLJ I know - I’m pretty terrified of the first year actually. It’ll probably get easier after that. My DS is still breastfeeding - I don’t fancy tandem feeding a toddler and a newborn :/ hopefully DS will wean in the next 9 months

natkasz · 28/01/2022 14:22

Hey. I've tested positive and hoping that my lines will progress. I'm 35 and pregnant with my second. They're will be a 2.5 year age gap between my little bit and this baby 😊

natkasz · 28/01/2022 14:23

BuchananBabies · 28/01/2022 17:55

Hello lovelies

Unfortunately it looks like I'm having an early miscarriage didn't want to drop off the chat without saying bye.

Wishing all of you a happy and healthy 8 months ❤
