Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

Congratulations to you too!! Yes I keep wondering which symptoms am I making up just because I know!

It doesn’t scare me as such, it’s just an anxiety thing I think as I am too young to have had a smear so it’s an uncomfortable and new situation; but clearly in 9 months I’m not going to care haha!

gemmamusic · 30/01/2022 08:50

@mistyrae ah! It's odd having someone poking around in there (I've had a scan like that and smear tests) but personally I didn't find it as bad as expected. You'll be distracted by seeing your tiny baby on the screen anyway.

SunnySideUp2020 · 30/01/2022 09:48

Hi! Can I join?
Been having faint lines for 3 days and finally got a proper positive.

I have a 9m old that I breastfeed A LOT day and night! It is giving some weird cramping. Anyone else going through this???

Since my cycles are all messed up by BF I am not exactly sure how far along but clearblue says 3 to 4 weeks so very early.

Due October 2022
kelsjx · 30/01/2022 10:33

Hi everyone! Am I ok to join? I got my positive on Friday evening! Had a miscarriage in April and chemical in November 2020. So feeling anxious!!!

Hope you're all feeling well!

@Aubyone how exciting what a great start to your weekend.

I'm trying to focus on each day in turn so that I'm not anxious. To help this I'm looking to get a pregnancy journal. There are so many options online though and it's really hard to choose without seeing them. Is anyone else looking to journal / have any recommendations?

My symptoms (cramping, bloating, sore boobs) are worst in the evening but mostly mild/absent during the day.

Leibee87 · 30/01/2022 11:29

Congratulations to all the new bfps.

@TigerTinsel I was looking too and there's so much I guess it depends what you want. In the end I just bought a pretty notebook. As I just want to write how I'm feeling /symptoms etc.

kelsjx · 30/01/2022 11:38

I'm also getting really bad cramps, worse than I've had in any of my other pregnancies! I keep going to the toilet to check I'm not bleeding 😞

Going to ring my GP tomorrow x

scottishsunshine96 · 30/01/2022 11:41

Feels a bit surreal to be writing this but I got a positive test last night! We’ve been trying for 14 months and I’ve really struggled with irregular periods and ovulation. We have just had our paperwork accepted to see the fertility specialist this week.
Period was much later than expected so thought I’d do a test just in case- did not expect it to come back positive. Took a clear blue digital too and it came back 2-3 weeks! This is my partner and I’s first baby so very excited (and also a little nervous that all goes well).

This might seem a silly question but who do you book an early scan with? Is it through the doctor or do you have to find somewhere private? All the advice is appreciated!!

loves2plan · 30/01/2022 11:51

Hi all, hoping to join please! BFP on 19/1, had an early scan last week as based on last period I thought I was around 7 weeks but they put me at around 5 weeks so going back on 17/2 and will hopefully actually see something 🤞🏻 think I'm due very early October
Largely symptomless at the moment except for being a bit crampy, reading your PPs that looks fairly common so will try not to worry too much 😅

TigerTinsel · 30/01/2022 12:07

@Leibee87 I think I might end up creating my own with a notebook too. There is an American one that I might buy anyway as a template as the online preview shows it contains useful pages for data recording indicating there could be other useful pages which wouldn't occur to me otherwise such as measuring waist each week and specific thoughts which could be fond to look back on.

Trying81 · 30/01/2022 13:32

@scottishsunshine96 I’ve booked one for 6+6 with a private scanning clinic near me, it’s £45

Aubyone · 30/01/2022 13:39

Congrats everyone joining, how exciting!

I finally told my husband - it's so nice to have him home and to be able to share the joy. Didn't realise how much I had to babble about!

@scottishsunshine96 the 'early scans' people are mentioning will be private ones, costing between £50-100 it seems. First nhs one will be between 10-13weeks I believe. I am looking to book one for week 8 with 'Ultrasound Direct' which is £75 and for the possible reassurance is worth it. Gonna wait until I get comfortably into week 5 first though (Friday) to book it.

@TigerTinsel there's sooo many on Etsy, but they all looked slightly too scripted/cheesy to me so I've bought a really pretty 2022 diary and a nice notebook (came as a set on etsy) and gonna use one to record appointments/symptoms/how I'm feeling and the notebook for my 'pregnancy research' lol. Is it your first? It is for me and there's sooo much to learn!

mistyrae · 30/01/2022 14:22

I have been looking at early scans in my area. I was looking at a company called window to the womb who have a few around the UK that are £79 but also found out that my local hospital offer private too for £75 so will likely do that. I am hoping to book next week as they don’t take before 7 weeks. Might be worth checking your local hospital? Congratulations also x

mistyrae · 30/01/2022 14:24

I have also been looking for a journal. I can’t decide on one though but I have seen one that looks good called Bump. However it is around the £25 mark. Currently I have written symptoms etc in my phone notes until I find something I like enough. So far the Bump book is the best I’ve found x

jamiam · 30/01/2022 14:47

Hello!

I just got my first BFP today but missed my period 2 days ago. I am also feeling nausea all of the time - I've only been sick twice though.

Just did the calculator thing and it's saying due date will be 7th October! 🥰 but again very early so this may change once I've seen the professionals!

This will be my first and I'm 30 y/o

X

scottishsunshine96 · 30/01/2022 15:31

@Aubyone yay so happy your husband knows, bet it felt amazing to tell him!
Thanks for the tips on the scan. I think I’m between 4-5 weeks, quite hard to tell with how irregular my cycles are! It will be nice to have the reassurance of the extra scan beforehand!

BecLJ · 30/01/2022 16:13

Congrats and welcome @SunnySideUp2020 @kelsjx @scottishsunshine96 @loves2plan and @jamiam !

@TigerTinsel ooh I hadn't thought of a pregnancy journal, that sounds good 😊

@scottishsunshine96 I'm in the South East of England and went to an early scan place called The Scanning Room during my previous pregnancy. I've also heard good things about Window to the Womb.

@Aubyone that must be a relief to now have someone to talk to about it in person!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Lovely and sunny here

Congratulations!!

moonpie32 · 30/01/2022 17:40

@BuchananBabies sorry to hear that. Send lots of hugs xx

moonpie32 · 30/01/2022 17:45

Congrats to everyone who has joined in the last few days!

I toyed with the idea of a reassurance scan when I had DC1 but I think it would have done the opposite for me and played with my mind. I've caved today and bought more tests for some unknown reason and they are dye stealers 🙈

Anyone else having issues with getting their booking app? I phoned the midwife services (I'm in Scotland and the GP surgery dont care) to be told the first app I could get was 14th April! I'd be 15/16 weeks by then 🙈 I'm hoping the come back to me soon!

BecLJ · 30/01/2022 18:03

I've just booked an early scan for end of Feb Shock how does a month away feel so far away!

@moonpie32 all I've been able to do is fill in an online form and they'll get back to me at some point before 12 weeks Confused

OP posts:
Samthenanny · 30/01/2022 18:09

@BecLJ how far along will you be at the end of feb?
I can’t decide what week we should go for a early scan 7 or 8 weeks

BecLJ · 30/01/2022 18:13

@Samthenanny if my dates are correct then just under 9 weeks.

My last pregnancy I went when I was about 7 weeks and heard the heartbeat but they did say the heartbeat isn't always found at that stage (and can be absolutely fine)

milliemd · 30/01/2022 18:39

@BecLJ I have mine at in 2 weeks I'll be 6w3d and I'm finding it hard to wait that long let alone a month😂
I'm sure I'll be booking one at 8 weeks too probably🙈 x

Crazybear91 · 30/01/2022 18:53

Hello all! Long backstory but I’m desperate to tell someone!

Been married since august 21. We tried October and November last year but the stress of everything was making me ill so we decided to take a major break, get healthy and lose weight, didn’t quite happen but was at the forefront of our minds for 2022.

Fast forward to Jan, I had tracked my ovulation as I just wanted to confirm I was ovulating at the right time in case we needed help later on as I have irregular periods…we did the deed and forgot all about it. I was planning a wild birthday weekend this weekend but out of habit just peed on a stick on Friday, I was convinced I saw a vvvvvf line, woke the other half up who said there was nothing and went back to sleep. Peed on 6 more cheapies as well as a clear blue that did show a faint positive. Ended up going to the pharmacy to buy a digital clear blue that came back with the words PREGNANT 1-2 weeks. We were both overjoyed and hysterical as we didn’t imagine it would happen like this, I really thought we’d have a long old journey due to my irregular periods and that we’d have to lose weight to even be able to get help.

So thankful and overjoyed. Praying for everything to go well for us and everyone on this chain!

Got a few potential due dates as I’ve used a bunch of calendars but it looks like 10th October for us!
