@LizzeyBenett I wish I could wait until then! 😅

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 19:32

I have already told my nail lady- I tell her everything and was worried about foot massage etc. Also my manager- she always knows when something is going on with me so there is no point trying to hide it- will help too If Im knackered!!

I am going to tell close friends and family as I see them. Most live quite far and spread out so don't see them often. I know it's supposed to be bad luck- but I didn't tell anyone last time and that didn't have a happy ending so I just think whatever let's make this feel real and get excited!!! I also am terrible at keeping my own secrets 🤣 Each to their own though 😊 whatever you are comfortable with xx

annlee3817 · 14/01/2022 19:38

Welcome and congrats to the new BFPs, we've told our parents as I couldn't drink over Christmas which is unheard of. Plus I tell my parents everything, haven't told my brother or DHs sister yet, was going to Tell them after the 8 week reassurance scan, but think we'll wait until we get the NIPT results back at around 11 weeks. Otherwise the only others that know are my best friends who would support me if it didn't work out and my boss because I've been feeling so shit.

The rest will be on a need to know basis, and well after we've told our DD :)

KatBee121 · 14/01/2022 19:41

Well hopefully this time it does have a happy ending for you! 💞

Hahaa I know what you mean about not being able to keep a secret though! I'm terrible 🙈 don't know how I've kept it quiet for the last two weeks! It's burning a hole through me 😂 But I'm planning a surprise to announce it to the parents and inlaws...if they don't guess before then. They're already asking too many questions 😅

Sassy144 · 14/01/2022 19:44

It's so hard not to tell people! I have a family gathering tomorrow which will be a real test, going to say I've had a migraine as to why I'm not drinking 🙈

KatBee121 · 14/01/2022 19:49

@Sassy144 😅 ooo good luck with that one! Tbf a migraine is a pretty good excuse!
I've got a big family gathering at the end of the month so was hoping to tell the parents before then so they can help me carry on with my 'dry January' cover 😬😅 not gona work past January though so I'm gona have to start avoiding people instead 😂😂

notmyusualchoice · 14/01/2022 19:54

@LizzeyBenett I told my parents and OH told his dad, but that’s as far as we were planning to go with family and friends - although my oldest sister asked surreptitiously the other weekend and I told her, but only because she’s the only person in my family who has had children Andy I figure she’s is a good person to ask questions! Also will be asking my mum, but she’s not had a child for nearly 32 years!

I told a couple of people at work because I will need support if problems occur - I’m so glad I didn’t because now I've been signed off for two weeks for something that would be considered odd if they didn’t know I wasn’t pregnant! I think there are a couple of others at work who are suspicious, but more because they know this is something we have wanted for a while.

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 20:28

@Morematchaplease yay congratulations to you too due date buddy!! How are you feeling? X

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 20:31

@KatBee121 thank you 😊 I had a tiny bit of spotting earlier, although I've just realised I cut my finger this afternoon and it keeps bleeding - so maybe it was that 😬 I dare not tell my husband after all the tears and stress 😳 xx

MOLWI · 14/01/2022 20:46

I'm using dry January as my excuse for not drinking this month if anyone needs any ideas on how to avoid it!!

Tor88 · 14/01/2022 20:57

I've told everyone already 😅😅😂 I may regret this!! Obvs a v personal choice, but I'd want parents and siblings to know if I had a miscarriage anyway, so told them right away. Then am telling close friends as I see them. I'm not gonna broadcast it wider than that til 12 weeks, but I do keep blurting it out whenever I see someone atm haha. I've also told a couple of colleagues I consider good friends... I mean I may well regret this, but if I miscarry Id imagine id share that experience with these people eventually anyway... Eeep 😂

bailey21 · 14/01/2022 21:29

Hey everyone!

Feels so bloody surreal to be joining in on this post!
I'm due on the 17th Sept!!

So far I've had a few symptoms, soar breasts light cramping like mild period pain type feeling super exhausted.

I actually had my suspicions quiet early as I had a rediculas hangover one day in no way proportionate to the amount I had drunk at a wedding. But I did a test about 3 days before my missed period and was negative- so I waited and after about 3/4 days of been late it was a very obvious positive..

So excited!! But also echo everyone else's nerves too! Weird isn't it not knowing 100% what's happening

TotoAnnihiliation · 14/01/2022 21:47

I have told my parents and my best friends. I will need their support if things go wrong, how can I expect them to support me if I don't know?

After being repulsed by absolutely everything food and drink wise, today, I have discovered that orange juice is amazing. I've already drank a whole carton. It's so nice to have something that doesn't make me retch!

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 21:49

Hello, welcome and congratulations @bailey21 xx

Gettingahead · 14/01/2022 22:00

Just tested positive yesterday with #2! Excited to share the news with someone

PumpkinsMum18 · 14/01/2022 22:10

@Gettingahead congrats! How old is your older DC?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 14/01/2022 23:38

Has anyone had progesterone pessaries and had any side effects

Sassy144 · 15/01/2022 06:16

It's good to know that lots of you have told close family and friends, I do agree that if something went wrong I would want their support - I think I probably will tell my parents and one or two friends.

Sassy144 · 15/01/2022 06:20

I don't think we can tell my mother in law early though, she already started knitting us a baby blanket when we got married so I can imagine if she knew she'd go crazy with buying things etc. She also can't keep a secret to save her life, so the whole village would know. A few months ago I had terrible diarrhea (turned out to be food poisoning) and every single person who knocked at the door she told!

Theneverendingcleaningcycle · 15/01/2022 07:20

We've told parents and close friends. The people who would know if somthing goes wrong.

annlee3817 · 15/01/2022 07:25

Congrats @Gettingahead and @bailey21

@Hopingforarainbow27 I had them in my last pregnancy, used to get really bad constipation with them, what side effects are you getting?

girafferafferaffe · 15/01/2022 07:27

This is where being a non drinker is beneficial! Nobody suspects a thing - except I drink tea like water so I am having to volunteer to make loads so I can do decaf!

girafferafferaffe · 15/01/2022 07:30

My mum in my last pregnancy shouted at and guilt tripped and ignored me because I didn't want to tell the entire family yet since I was about 5 weeks at the time. She isn't being trusted this time.
Sassy144 · 15/01/2022 07:42

@girafferafferaffe wow that's awful! She has definitely lost her trust privileges!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 15/01/2022 07:45

@annlee3817 I only started last night but I think I'm already constipated from pregnancy 🤦🏽‍♀️
Anyone else struggling to sleep? I'm tired but haven't been sleeping well and waking up when I do fall asleep
