@Whoknew22 I am a migraine sufferer unfortunately. My go tos are dark room with a migraine strip or really cold iced water flannel on your head and deep heat or a hot water bottle on your neck at the same time. When you feel up to it yoga for migraines (yoga by Adrienne on YouTube). Menthol sweets can help too sometimes x

Tr1845 · 14/01/2022 15:00

Hi all 5 weeks today due 16th, i have recently had 2 early losses so have an early scan in a couple of weeks feel super sick for now so that's a good sign!

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 15:30

@calipoppy thank you so much!!! Do you know when you just need a real person to tell you it's fine and not Google or your poor husband 🤣 🙏🏻 congratulations on your pregnancy xx

Callmechar · 14/01/2022 15:33

Hi everyone, assuming my pregnancy goes OK (see my other thread) I'll hopefully be due in September. I'm still in shock

madeleine85 · 14/01/2022 16:16

Congratulations all our newbies!!

@girafferafferaffe what you are feeling is totally normal. I'm also scared to tell my boss. He is a lovely understanding family man, but I am one of 7 people in my company, and do the whole of a function by myself. Mat leave where I am is much shorter, but I like the company so much I am considering offering to just take 2 weeks off and then go part time from home, which I think would be maneagable. I think I am clearly bonkers, but I really want to show loyalty after how great they have been to me. It will work itself out though.

@Peauela when the doctor usually does the stick test they use the cheap non sensitive one, and it will be with diluted non FMU. If you are really early they just might not pick that up and the bloods will. Fingers crossed for you.

@SkaterChick did you manage to get an appt?

@Tor88 time to go private by the sounds of it! Hope you can get something soon!

@Hopingforarainbow27 here are my pics. You don't see very much on the screen. I got home and screenshotted/zoomed in and I could just make out a head. I was 6+4 based on measurements which matches up to my ovulation date. It is very grainy as my cervix was sloped backwards and she couldn't get a decent angle.

Hey everyone,
So I called my drs and because I have no spotting or bleeding and I still have symptoms they weren't interested. They said they wouldn't be able to get me in until Monday or Tuesday so I might as well just wait for when I call at 6 weeks on Thursday.

I called the EPU and they can't do anything for my until I'm 6 weeks, before then it has to be a referral from my gp but the lady was lovely and asked me loads of questions about any spotting, what kind of pain, when did it start, what are my other symptoms and she said she wasn't overly concerned but also if I get any intense stabbing pains, bleeding, light beaded dizziness or I faint then I must go straight to my local A&E which also has the maternity unit on site and they'll take a look at me.

The pains have been on and off left aided all day. I did briefly have some right sided pains and I've had general period type cramps too.
I'm still feeling very nauseated, I've puked once and there's been a lot of retching but nothing coming up (the absolute worst, at least when I puke I feel better after)

So I'm hoping that as my symptoms haven't gone away this is a good sign.
I'm trying not to be stressed and worried but it's so hard when I'm scared.

Anyone else feel like they need a large glass of wine and feel a little put out that they can't?!

Peauela · 14/01/2022 16:46

@madeleine85 thank you... I really hope so ❤️

madeleine85 · 14/01/2022 16:48

@SkaterChick well, i'm glad you called, at least the EPU sounds like they are on it and asked the right questions. I feel better reading that you have had all over cramping rather than only one side. How many weeks are you? Last weekend I had bad cramps at roughly 6 weeks, which went away, and I really think might be slow digestion related, but felt like AF cramps. It is funny how the nausea is something we both want and we don't. Last time I took medications to deal with it as I couldn't deal with feeling sick at all. This time I am deliberately not taking them as I am finding feeling sick reassuring, and when it goes away I panic. Crossing everything that your scan next week is full of good news x

SkaterChick · 14/01/2022 17:01

@madeleine85 I'm 5+1 today. So I won't be 6 weeks till Thursday. I have to call Thursday and then I should get an appointment Thursday or Friday.
I'm panicking with what to tell work with it being short notice but I'll figure it out. My line manager won't be back in till Thursday and my actual manager is off until 24th (I'll hopefully have had the app before then)

Going to chill and relax this evening, try and have a lie in tomorrow and take it easy over the weekend.

Peauela · 14/01/2022 17:13

Dr just rang, my bhcg came back at 45 so definitely pregnant. I have to repeat next week to see if it rises properly. ☺️

madeleine85 · 14/01/2022 17:17

@SkaterChick you have the right plans! Relax and have a weekend of self care... the best feeling!

OP posts:
madeleine85 · 14/01/2022 17:18

@Peauela that is such great news!! Your pee must just have been very diluted/not FMU. Blood is much more accurate, so that must be a good feeling. Fingers crossed for you that it rises x

Callmechar · 14/01/2022 17:23

Is it normal to feel absolutely worried about everything pregnancy related? I'm 5 weeks according to my scan at the EPU.

Also, how can I add photos please?

Peauela · 14/01/2022 17:28

@madeleine85 thanks love means a lot 🥰 what stare are you at? Sorry too many Pages to catch up on 😅

Callmechar · 14/01/2022 17:44

My story:
Age - 39 next week
One child aged 20
Been TTC since 2002 on and off, have endometrisosis and PCOS
Not actively trying at all, periods more regular past 6 months
Last period around 23 Nov (cannot remember exact date)
Really bad cramps on Sun 19 Dec (I remember as we were out for the day and I wanted to come home) - possibly just before ovulation but I thought was just before my period.

I thought my period was due on or around Xmas. Never happenned.

Been having cramps, no period. On Mon this week - took 1, then 7 more pregnancy tests. All postive. 3+ weeks on the clearblue, so at least 3 weeks since conception

Called DR, worried ectopic - told need to have a blood test which I had on Tues.

Wed - blood results 8800 HCG (told 6 - 8 weeks)

Worried by cramps now defintely pregnancy, EPU referral. Had an internal ultrasound scan, showed I am 5 weeks (surprised as I thought more)

Still do not believe it. I want to post my scan but it will not let me add a photo. They could see the gestational sac and yolk sac

I am convinced I will not have a viable pregnancy (I am overweight, aged 39, fertility issues). I have spent all of this week googling every bad thing that can happen.

LizzeyBenett · 14/01/2022 18:13

How is everyone keeping this news to themselves I'm bursting to tell people , obviously I won't until I get to 12 weeks but I nearly let it slip a few times alreadySmile

MrsFLongbottom · 14/01/2022 18:30

@Glastomummy I had a very tiny bit of spotting last night after a very long day and went to bed convinced I'd wake up to mc- all fine overnight and no more signs. I also had a loss last year and and feeling extremely nervous but in my first pregnancy (which was successful) I also had spotting and actually also had a pretty big bleed at around 6w and all was fine. It's so hard to know, and I feel stressed and then guilty for the stress? But it is all normal XXX

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 18:37

@MrsFLongbottom

PumpkinsMum18 · 14/01/2022 18:39

@Callmechar that sounds really tricky ❤️ Haven’t got any advice but hope things go well for you

@LizzeyBenett I want to tell people too but will try my best to wait til after the scan! We are hosting a dinner party with some neighbours in a few weeks and I’m sure they will guess when I say I’m not drinking 😂 I’m hoping we can have the scan before my DD’s birthday so we can announce the pregnancy to family at her party 🥰

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 19:00

@MrsFLongbottom thank you for sharing!! It really helps to know we are not alone in experiencing these symptoms and feeling these fears x

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 19:02

I have seen a few people say they continue to test and monitor their pregnancy- do you just compare lines ? They presumably just get darker? X

Peauela · 14/01/2022 19:07

@Callmechar I'll keep everything crossed for you ❤️ hope your pregnancy goes smoothly and you get your beautiful baby ❤️

@LizzeyBenett we are also planning to hold off with sharing the news as long as we possibly can 😄 but it's already tough even though we've only just found out lol 😂

@Glastomummy I will continue testing to see if the line gets darker and will get my blood test done next week. If all is well I won't check again until my first scan ❤️

KatBee121 · 14/01/2022 19:14

@Glastomummy
I carried on testing as I found out early and wanted to make sure it wasn't a chemical pregnancy. I tested until 19dpo when I got a dye stealer (I've attached a pic).
However I have got a test left which I plan on using in a week just to make sure the little one is still there 😅

@LizzeyBenett oh I'm glad it's not just me that's really struggling to keep it quiet 😅 I've been doing a 'dry january'...problem is I loveeee my wine so everyone is really sceptical 😂 planning on telling parents when I get my 8 week scan at the end of Jan.

When is everyone else planning on telling close family? 🤔 is 8 week still too soon?
