So it's now been over 2 weeks since I self referred to my maternity services (on instruction from GP), and they said theyd respond within 2 weeks. They don't take calls but ask you to leave a voicemail but their mailbox is full so can't do that. Theres no other way to reach them and every link on their website is broken 😅😂😂 I think it's time for that private scan lol

Meganrobyn · 14/01/2022 11:08

Great to see a new thread :) Congrats to those with recent BFP!
Ive been worrying myself lately as dont feel pregnant in the slightest. I actually feel better than normal lol. If it wasnt for the positive test i would genuinely not have a clue.
I am not even 5 weeks yet and i know with my previous pregnancies sickness kicked in at week 6 BUT i did have symptoms at this point.
I literally am begging to feel shitty to reassure myself but i did this with my daughter and regretted it as i then had HG up until i delivered her haha.

I feel like we are all in same boat with endless worrying. Thing is the worry just changes and then changes again once they are born! Guess that just motherhood aye.

Belle2210 · 14/01/2022 11:10

@KatBee121 I've noticed I'm puffier in the face I think more than anywhere else 🙄.

Freaked myself out a bit about having a bath last night and being a bit hot afterwards 🙈. Not to the point of scalding water or feeling faint but a wee bit hot and in need or a drink. Didn't realise its just 2 degrees difference for your body to become too hot and the fact I'm just in my 5th week with things happening with the neural tube which being too hot can affect 😬. Keep telling myself that surely woman have been in hot tubs lots without realising they're pregnant this early and been fine. So much to worry about. Just ordered a bath thermometer 👍 Just hope it's not actually just luke warm you can have a bath in as the shower in my house is awful.

Sassy144 · 14/01/2022 11:28

@Belle2210 bless you, I'm sure it was absolutely fine - I think they say as long as you can get straight in it shouldn't be too hot. I know it's hard not to worry!

Whoknew22 · 14/01/2022 11:37

@Belle2210 try not to worry about it. I got positives for pregnancy and covid within a few days and couldn’t keep my temperature down at all. I was so worried and phoned the doc and they were not concerned in the slightest. It’s hard not to worry but you are right about the hot tubs. Luckily we have all found out so early into our pregnancies. I didn’t find out so early last time as we wernt trying and was up to all sorts 🙈

Hopingforarainbow27 · 14/01/2022 11:40

I'm only 4 weeks but smells are turning me? Is this normal or am I imagining it?

Belle2210 · 14/01/2022 12:01

Thanks @Sassy144 and @Whoknew22. Sure it'll be fine just overthinking I know 🙈. I had Covid prob round about the time of implantation so kinda glad I had it then out the way for a bit atleast.

@Hopingforarainbow27 I think whatever your body is feeling/doing is normal for you in pregnancy. Everyone's so different with symptoms and things. Seen alot of people mention smells early on.

Sassy144 · 14/01/2022 12:01

@Hopingforarainbow27 I've been having waves of nausea at 4 weeks, lucky us!

Beck3115 · 14/01/2022 12:21

Hi ladies how are we all doing? I’m just moving over to this new thread. I think I’m 6+2 today and feeling ok but very tired and nauseated on and off.

Also my hormones are absolutely wild, I cried at a video of a dog doing an agility course. What.

Can anyone recommend some good pregnancy workouts? I was an absolute slug in pregnancy number 1 and I put on a shed load of weight and my pelvis gave up x

Littlebun1 · 14/01/2022 12:21

Hi All!

Busy thread already! Hope you're all doing well!

Had my early reassurance scan today at 5w2d. My last two pregnancies have ended in PULs so I was extremely nervous but they found the gestational sac and yolk sac which I was so happy about. Felt like she was looking for ages before she turned the screen!

They've booked me in for another scan in 2 weeks and they said it's normal to not see an embryo at this stage but of course I'm worried...have any of you had early scans showing only the sacs? Picture attached Smilexx

@Beck3115 what are true emotions all about? I am with you. I had a good cry this morning too over a Facebook post.

I was exactly the same in my first pregnancy and promised myself I wouldn’t do it again. It’s hard to motivate myself as I’m starting to feel really sick, like the hungover way that you keep eating. I’m 6 & 3 I think.

I did a pregnancy workout the other day from YouTube. It was ok. Quite easy but think that’s what I need. I saw joe wicks has a few pregnancy workouts so think I’ll give one of his a try. If you do any good ones, share them. 😃

Peauela · 14/01/2022 12:55

Hey all.

I had my doctors appointment this morning to do bloods. Before he did those, he did his own pregnancy test from urine and said it was negative. He said it may still be early but last time we had sex was 1st January so I can be anywhere between 13 and 10 DPO. I tested positive yesterday on several tests and did two this morning - faint but positive, but they were all 10miu sensitivity. Is it possible his was just maybe 25? Shouldn't my hcg levels be higher at this stage?

Honestly it was a bit of a bummer and I won't get my blood results until Monday which sucks 😢

What were your Bhcg levels in early pregnancy?

Peauela · 14/01/2022 12:56

Obviously we had sex I mean me
And hubby not me and doctor haha 😂

PumpkinsMum18 · 14/01/2022 13:02

@Peauela that’s a bit odd! I didn’t think GPs did pregnancy tests, normally they just take your word for it. In fact in most areas, you don’t need to see the GP and just self refer to midwives

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 13:10

@Peauela hey! I was pregnant 6 months ago and I attended the out of hours Doctor as was having pains - they did a test and told me it was negative. I was heartbroken. My husband didn't believe it so made me do another test when we got home- yep still pregnant!! I ended up going back later that evening and the same thing happened- negative. We took a clear blue with us and the nurse used that too- positive. My husband looked at the first test the nurse had done just before we left and there were two lines! I don't know if there tests take longer, or they just look too quickly (or are just a bit rubbish 🤣)

Unfortunately for us it didn't have a happy ending that time, but that was a while after those tests- so do not worry!! Get them to take bloods two days apart- the serum HCG should double. Xx

Peauela · 14/01/2022 13:16

@PumpkinsMum18 I live in Ireland so maybe it's a bit different here. I got like 7 positive tests and took photos so I even showed it to him. I mean they can't all be wrong?

@Glastomummy I'm sorry about your loss 😢 thanks for that! I don't know what kind of tests they're using but I really hope the baby sticks... I know it's there. I mean I have proof 😂 my hubby got so happy I could have waited for bloods to come back before telling him...

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 13:54

@Peauela thank you 🙏🏻 my original due date was approaching quickly and I was dreading it, but I think my BFP two days ago will make it easier!!! So happy and trying to stay calm and positive 🙏🏻 xx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 14/01/2022 13:57

Has anyone any pics from a 6 week scan? I've got mine in 2 weeks and not sure what to expect, if anything

Littlebun1 · 14/01/2022 14:04

@Hopingforarainbow27 I'm assuming like me you'll see both sacs and possibly an embryo at 6 weeks!

Beck3115 · 14/01/2022 14:07

@Whoknew22 I’m glad I’m not the only one, I’ve been for a walk the last two days and then today I did a YouTube workout but it wasn’t the best, then I did 15 mins of pregnancy yoga which was glorious.

I am determined to try and do what I can to help my body out a bit this time so aiming for 5 days exercise a week, walking, swimming or a pregnancy workout. Then yoga where I can fit it in… we will see how long this lasts!

I fully get what you mean about the hangover eating thing, that was me in my first pregnancy, constantly just wanting beige carbs to stop myself feeling sick! I’ve found that I’m off all my favourite foods this time round and crisps have repulsed me so maybe my body is like don’t you dare do that again 😂

notmyusualchoice · 14/01/2022 14:25

@Beck3115 I need to find some good pregnancy yoga, I think! We have a dog and I’m more than happy to walk her, but I’m suffering with frequent migraines at the moment (every other day this week) and can’t cope with the light outside Sad any recommendations?

Glastomummy · 14/01/2022 14:38

Hello mummy's to be. I have just had the tiniest amount of spotting when I wiped. I know this is normal at only 4 weeks but please can you reassure me. Had a MC 6 months ago so Uber Uber nervous x

Weddingaug2019 · 14/01/2022 14:38

Hi again all 😊
There was a comment further down about not using a hot water bottle during pregnancy.
There is no issue with using one, on your lower back or on your tummy.
The only thing to avoid with heat is immersing yourself in it. Like a hot back or really hot shower. ❤️

Weddingaug2019 · 14/01/2022 14:40
@TooManyCostas I am an emotional mess, and I am, not usually at all. I cry at buzzfeed posts, I cried at the first Harry Potter chapter the other day, and I was near hysterical watching the new Disney Encanto. How dare they cast out poor Bruno for being able to see the future lol. Glad I am not alone, my husband thinks I am a bit of a nutjob right now :)
I cry every time at the end of Encanto 😂 but then my 22 mo does an adorable dance to the music and melts my heart ❤️

calipoppy · 14/01/2022 14:55

@Glastomummy I've had very faint spotting when I wipe at least once a day for the last couple of weeks too, I'm 6+1 and my symptoms are getting stronger and nothing to suggest anything is going wrong! Hope that helps - I googled and apparently 1/3 of women will have spotting and not miscarry :)
