@Whoknew22 meant to add, any recommendations or tips appreciated

Whoknew22 · 27/01/2022 09:47

@annlee3817 I’m in Scotland and got the baby box last time and got 1 free totsbots nappy to try and I have to say they were very good. I think tk max were selling them recently. When I was pregnant I bought a starter pack of applecheeks and really liked them but they didn’t last until potty training which was annoying. Think they lasted until about 12 months. We got some mio bambino ones (which you can get in Aldi and I’ve spotted them in Morrisons too). They have some lovely prints but to be honest they aren’t that absorbing so we only used them at home. They are also quite bulky if out and about. We also got some little lamb (I think) second hands and I thought they were good too.

Im certainly no expert but I think bamboo liners are what you are looking for as seem to absorb more. We will do a mixture of all of them. Poppers seem better as when they get a bit older they can take them off with the Velcro (or at least thats something we found).

Cheeky wipes are brilliant. We still use them even although we’re all potty trained. Great for face wiping and just anything really. Let me know if you want to know anything else. Sorry that seems a bit all over the place.

Most of my friends use totsbots and rate them at night too. They also have 15% off your first order online. Hope that all makes sense. X

annlee3817 · 27/01/2022 09:50

Thanks @Whoknew22 yeah I had the Mio Bambino ones last time and they leaked, I did have the bamboo liners and tried boosters too, but the boosters were ridiculously thick. Will get a couple of tots bots to try, although the nappy lady trial sends you eight different brands, so it's tempting as can try them all :)

Whoknew22 · 27/01/2022 10:19

@annlee3817 nappy lady sounds like the best bet. They are all so different and it’s expensive to buy the starter packs so need to really do some research. It even differs between boys and girls. Lots of YouTube videos with some good tips too. I watched a lot of them when I was trying to master it all 😀

BlueSky57 · 27/01/2022 10:28

Hi all just checking in.

I have currently been signed off work for 2 weeks to begin with (I’m a teacher) as the doctor diagnosed me with hyperemesis yesterday & says I need rest & fluid or could end up needing to go into hospital.

My LMP date has me at 7+1 today but my early scan due to pain at EPU on January 24th only showed a sac and egg in the uterus too, so the sonographer said 4-5 weeks. We didn’t really DTD 4-5 weeks ago though so who knows! My blood results on January 21st showed 12,000 for hcg which they said was high? Hmm

I have to go back next on February 7th but time is going so slow as I am literally lying in bed sleeping, unable to eat anything all day at the moment. Day 11 of the diarrhoea too so all fun & games here Blush

If you want to use cloth nappies, it's worth checking whether your LA runs a scheme to give them out - I know some do.

DM1720 · 27/01/2022 11:15

@BlueSky57 that’s good that you got signed off work. Sounds like you need it! Pity they didn’t bring you in for a scan a bit sooner.. 2 weeks is a long wait when you don’t know what’s going on! Hopefully the symptoms are a good sign and baby is cooking nicely in there. Maybe late implantation or something! Hope you start to feel better soon!
I’m 5 +1 today. Time is dragging. The tiredness has hit big time in the last few days, hoping it’s a good sign!

surprised12 · 27/01/2022 11:16

@stolis1

Hi I'm around 6 weeks and so anxious. Has anyone experienced symptoms that come and go? I had been waking up each morning feeling sick and it was even worse at night. Yesterday I woke up feeling fine with no sickness at all and now can't help but worry it means something is wrongConfused
Try not to worry - mine is coming and going too! Some days I'm really nauseous but some days I don't feel like I'm even pregnant. Im 10 weeks tomorrow and it's been like this for me all the way through. I've had 2 scans so far and all is good!!
chasingtherainbow1 · 27/01/2022 11:30

@BlueSky57 glad to hear you've got time to rest! Sounds like you've been through hell!

Hope your scan goes well and that it comes round quick! I have my first scan tomorrow. I'm 6 weeks today by lmp but I ovulate later so if I go by ovulation date I'd be back to 5 week and 4 days!

SkaterChick · 27/01/2022 11:49

@BlueSky57 sorry you're still feeling so rough. I hope the rest helps.

I'm having a nightmare seeing my gp. The meds I got from the out of hours Dr have stopped working, when I called today they said theyre fully booked and I'd have to try at 2pm for an emergency appointment, so frustrating.
I'm back to not.keeping anything down and had to take today off work.

bailey21 · 27/01/2022 13:07
@bailey21 hope you’re feeling ok! The first 12 weeks, Honestly the first 25 weeks is a stress fest 🤦‍♀️. I only really relaxed last time when I knew she likely could survive on her own if born.

In good news another mum gave me a fetal Doppler for heartbeat listening and I was like what the hell I’ll try it tonight. They usually start working at 12 weeks plus, I’m 8.5-9 and I could hear the heartbeat tonight ❤️. I’m sure it’s the baby as it was 125 bpm and that’s what my dd’s heartbeat was when I used to listen to her. Weirdly I know what side he’s on due to the ultrasound, and I’ve been convinced I could feel a fast pulse in my belly if I laid my hand on it in one spot at night time when in bed, and it turns out it is! I know that doesn’t solve genetic testing abnormalities checks, but just knowing I can listen now is making me feel so much better!
Thank you so much!! It was only the once since then I've just had browny discharge which seems to be pretty much gone now. My midwife referred me to early pregnancy and they got me in for a scan tomorrow to check everything is okay so fingers crossed 🤞 I feel much calmer now then I did last night and this morning!

Yes it's sooo crazy this whole thing like you get pregnant and your so happy for about 10mins before the anxiety and what ifs start haha! Grin

Nightshiftnursemum · 27/01/2022 13:48

Hi all! I’m new here so I’ll introduce myself
I’ve just turned 32
Due 16th September 2022 which makes me 6+6 today.
Had the exact same due date with my DD (who is 5) although she was 2 weeks late and born 30th September.
I work 2 nights a week and at the moment feeling so rough for a day or two after working a night shift hoping this will soon pass. Had some nausea over the past few days but other than that just hoping for smooth sailing to the 12 week scan!

Gizmo16 · 27/01/2022 14:18

@EllieJai44 thank you! I shall try to relax and wait Smile

Gizmo16 · 27/01/2022 14:21

@annlee3817 thank you! I’ve ordered some supplements just now so will take those and sit tight for now! Smile

LSL0708 · 27/01/2022 14:47

@saltedcaramelanything firstly, congrats Smile I also had covid at around 5 weeks. Got my BFP on Christmas Eve followed by a positive covid test a few days later. I was so worried about it but with having an IVF pregnancy I've had two early scans at 6+5 and 8+5 and everything is fine. Hopefully this helps to settle your worry a little bit and I hope you don't feel too unwell Thanks

Isonthecase · 27/01/2022 17:36

@Whoknew22 @annlee3817 we use the totsbots bamboozles with mamaease wraps a fair bit and their all in ones, it's well worth looking out on eBay or marketplace for people selling kits they've bought same not for round to using. They do take forever to dry though so better in summer than winter! Nappy lady is fab though.

annlee3817 · 27/01/2022 17:53

@Isonthecase thanks! Will have a look, there is a nappy library here too, so will have a look at that. Ha ha yep they do take an age to dry don't they, was a nightmare when we were in a flat :)

Whoknew22 · 27/01/2022 18:14

@Isonthecase yes the summer is amazing for drying them. I must say, we potty trained my LB at Christmas and I am not missing the winter washing at all 😂.

I agree, second hand is great. I bought lots from a friend and didn’t look back

TotoAnnihiliation · 27/01/2022 20:24

I'm feeling a bit strange this evening. Hungry but can't bear the thought of eating and so tearful!

EverydayIsPJday · 28/01/2022 07:01

Morning everyone. Feeling abit Hmm this morning. I decided today was a good day to do a how many weeks clear blue test. Still no symptoms whatsoever. Woke at 4am bursting for a wee so thought I'd better do it then for FMU. I got a sodding error code on the test 😡 no idea what happened. I have five years experience with these so can't imagine I took it wrong 😅.... What a waste. Anyway, I couldn't wait (or sleep) so did another half hour ago 6.30am and got a 2-3 weeks. I'm 5+1 today. Do you think I might have got the 3 weeks plus on a FMU? I'm going to retest in a few days I guess (funding the clear blue corporation £££)

annlee3817 · 28/01/2022 07:18

@EverydayIsPJday ah that's annoying, they can really vary I think, think one of the ladies on here for a 2-3 in the morning and then a 3+ in the evening, I held out until 6 weeks to do mine, and got the 3+ then as knew I'd fret if I got 2-3. Fingers crossed for the next test :)

Dreamer30 · 28/01/2022 07:28

Anyone's nausea come and go daily? I had it a few days before my bfp then it went away. Since Monday it came back but it seemed to leave in the evenings? Tuesday I felt awful all day and the smells at work (kitchen) don't help 😅 yesterday was fine but then this morning at 2am I woke up like OMG I'm going to be sick! And had to run to the loo. Just sat there for 10 minutes in a sleepy daze waiting but nothing happened. Now I'm up and ready for work, had a cup of tea and I'm raring to go lol it's strange. Also, my boobs are agony! 6w+5d - due 18th September :)

I feel you sister, however, my nausea has been constant for the last 7 days or so from the minute I open my eyes in the morning, 6+6 today, we are a day apart!

Food aversions are kicking in pretty strongly also, completely gone off tea and I am usually a 5 cups a day kind of girl.

PrettyTulip · 28/01/2022 07:34

@Dreamer30 we have same EDD 😊 & I have practically nothing in terms of symptoms other than a consistent dull ache in my pelvic region that doesn't seem to go away! No nausea, no aversion, no cravings... I have to keep prodding my boobs to make sure they are tender still 😂

EverydayIsPJday · 28/01/2022 07:40

Thanks @annlee3817 I guess I'm being impatient 😅 I had a MMC last year so praying the numbers keep going up. I will hold off til next Thursday for 6 weeks and try again. I hope everyone else is ok this morning 😊
