Hi all
I could see the other thread only had a few posts left so thought I'd do a new thread before i missed the chance like last time & we lost people 🙈

Thanks all for the congratulations ☺
@KizboBaggins they didn't say the anterior placenta would cause any issues.
It was 2mm lower than it should be but most likely will move up before birth.

I'm looking forward to feeling some proper kicks / movements although it might freak me out lol.

I have only really been showing for the last week & i was working from home when my morning sickness was the worst which helped hide it.
Also my already large belly hid baby for quite a while but it's definitely starting to round out & not so squishy.

@CaptainCarp that's good! I'm already wondering if I have anterior placenta too as I'm not feeling anything yet. I'm probably being far too preemptive though!

I can't wait to feel some movement too! I keep getting excited when I feel gas bubbles but every time it turns out I literally just had to pump Grin

Mattieandmummy · 19/02/2022 05:49

@CaptainCarp glad everything is ok, it's a scary time waiting for movement. 2mm is such a tiny measurement, that's smaller than most grout lines between bathroom tiles, sounds like it's basically very nearly where it should be. Wish my bump was a bit smaller, my Mum asked me if I was sure of my dates at the weekend 😯 but it's no.2 and I think my stomach muscles have given up!

@KizboBaggins I don't think an anterior placenta means anything in terms of labour. I'm pretty sure the only one that's a problem is placenta praevia.

UncomfortableBadger · 19/02/2022 07:30

Hi all

Wish I could say the vomiting has disappeared entirely at 20 weeks but sadly not Sad Anybody else still being sick at 20 weeks? I have a horrible feeling this means I’ll be sick for another 20 weeks more…

Mega anxious about the 20 week scan next week. Not felt much consistent movement, just the odd thump low down here & there. Also fretting about the 20 week consultant appointment where I just know I’m going to be lectured about my weight…

KizboBaggins · 19/02/2022 07:31

Umm has anyone else experienced boob leakage?! When I got up this morning there was a small wet patch on the bed... I'm not even 18 weeks! Is this normal?! Do I now have 22 weeks of leaky boobs to look forward to...?

SamanthaVimes · 19/02/2022 07:36

@UncomfortableBadger I’m not being fully sick but am retching if I catch a whiff of something strong smelling still.

I’ve only just started to feel movement literally yesterday and it’s my second so in theory meant to feel it earlier. I wouldn’t worry yet (impossible to actually do I know!)
I have a love hate things with scans. I love seeing the baby and getting confirmation that everything’s ticking along nicely but get so anxious beforehand in case it uncovers something wrong. My scan is next Thursday and I’m already thinking about it a lot!

SamanthaVimes · 19/02/2022 07:39

@KizboBaggins is possible you’re producing colostrum already. Might be worth getting some breast pads just in case. Cheeky wipes do some reusable ones that are comfy.

SPea · 19/02/2022 08:42

@CaptainCarp I'm the same, my company is still mostly wfh so haven't told anyone in the office yet. Have my scan on Tues so hopefully if that goes well I'll be telling people after that.

Weirdly one of my colleagues told me the other day she's had a couple of dreams that I was pregnant, but I haven't seen her in months! Spooky!

Porridgeislife · 19/02/2022 09:26

I had crusty bits on my nipples yesterday morning at 20w which is apparently dried milk Hmm

Apparently it’s not abnormal at this stage to start producing little bits overnight.

Lianna93 · 19/02/2022 09:49

@UncomfortableBadger I'm still struggling too. I now have 2 different types of antisickness tablets to take as I was hospitalised with vomiting the other day 😩

@KizboBaggins I definitely am - probably wouldn't have noticed but I have nipple piercings & my initial thought was they had gotten infected but there's absolutely no pain or swelling so definitely started to produce colostrum 🙈😂

UncomfortableBadger · 19/02/2022 10:35

@Lianna93 Sorry to hear you’re still struggling too - it’s vile isn’t.

Just narrowly avoided throwing up all over our Ocado delivery chap. Mortified Blush Bloke looked terrified so DH had to explain that it wasn’t noro/a hangover. Happy Saturday to me! Sad

Lianna93 · 19/02/2022 11:28

@UncomfortableBadger Have you contacted your doctor for antisickness tablets? If not, I'd definitely recommend. Typically, I can take one as soon as I wake up & that'll do me the whole day but I've got others to top me up because I've also got stress induced vomiting 🙃

annie1994 · 19/02/2022 11:33

@UncomfortableBadger @Lianna93 I’m still being sick at 21+3. I’ve tried coming off my anti sickness tablets a few days ago but sickness and nausea are slowly getting worse 😭

Evie345 · 19/02/2022 11:34

Hi ladies! For any second timers out there who’ve had a c section, do you have any advice on things to think about/get for when baby comes or to help with recovery? I know I’ll need to have one and expect things like bending and heavy lifting to be challenging for a few weeks after and any tips or tricks to make it a bit more manageable with the little baby would be much appreciated! Xx

KizboBaggins · 19/02/2022 15:37

@Lianna93 @Porridgeislife glad it's not just me! I initially blamed my husband for drooling in the bed 😂

@SamanthaVimes breast pads and I'm not even halfway... 🙈

CaptainCarp · 19/02/2022 16:26

@Mattieandmummy yeah they said they only worry if the placenta is covering the cervix & that a lot move anyway.

@UncomfortableBadger i was getting a bit worried as i hadn't felt anything.. But turns out i probably had i just didn't realise it was baby! They decided to give me a few good kicks yesterday evening after making them have their picture taken lol.
I saw my consultant at 12 weeks but don't see them again until 32 weeks!
Hope you sickness gets better soon.

CaptainCarp · 19/02/2022 16:30

@SPea oo that's weird! I got a few "oh I thought you might be comments at work" only 1 of them I'm actually convinced they had an inkling as i was discussing my bad back & she had similar with her pregnancy & shes only been back from mat leave a few months.

Luckily my worst sickness weeks were WFH just before & after Christmas so no one could see how rough i looked lol.

SamanthaVimes · 19/02/2022 16:38

@KizboBaggins wait til your milk comes in properly after the birth, I spent a good few weeks waking up drenched until my supply regulated! This motherhood business isn’t very glamorous

I’m actually wondering if I’ve started making colostrum again, DDs nappies have been quite loose 🤢 and I’ve heard that can happen to nursing toddlers when it comes back. I think I’ll have to ask the online breastfeeding group I’m in next week.

Lianna93 · 19/02/2022 16:46

Silly me decided to go on a walk to help with my mental health & now I feel like I need a Zimmer frame to move about 😭😂
My back, hips & pelvis are all in absolute agony now. They were sore to begin with but this is unreal now 😩
If you saw me walk, you'd genuinely think I'm 40 weeks not 20! 😂😂

strawberrysummer19 · 19/02/2022 16:55

Gender scan today - finding out tomorrow with a little gender reveal - we've bought confetti cannons

All is good - measuring spot on and a reassurance scan well-being check also so that was nice

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 19/02/2022 18:23

Hi all I posted a few weeks ago- had my 20 week scan today (20+1) but baby was not having any of it and kept hiding so the lady found it difficult to get measurements- even after a walk and wiggle of my hips still wouldn’t cooperate 🤣 so back Monday to try again but from what she could see all looked good. Keeping gender a surprise till birth. I had to have a uterine artery Doppler due to previous hypertension and eclampsia in first pregnancy which came back on the high side already under consultant care and will be having scans from 28 weeks every 4 weeks till delivery but hoping it all goes ok as I had a placenta abruption with my first just made it to theatre in time! Hope everyone’s ok and sorry to hear some of you are still struggling with nausea and sickness xx

KizboBaggins · 19/02/2022 18:49

@SamanthaVimes luckily I'm not too glamorous to begin with so shouldn't be a huge shock. Ooo I never thought about how it would work with 2 DC breastfeeding! How old is your DD? I'm very much in awe of those who have two young children. I'm scared enough at the thought of coping with a newborn and a young labrador!

@strawberrysummer19 how exciting!! How did it work planning that? Did you have someone else come in to the scan with you or did sonographer write it down?

@Fizzybubblegumbottles you're a stronger person than me not finding out! I can't wait. I'm so impatient waiting for the 20 week scan. And anxious of course Confused

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 19/02/2022 18:53

@KizboBaggins it’s taken a lot of will power not finding out! I have 2 boys aged 10 & 5 and I think this one is a boy too but we will see in 5 months 🤣 I hope it goes well for you! When is your scan?

KizboBaggins · 19/02/2022 19:06

@Fizzybubblegumbottles my scan is two weeks on Monday! I'm convinced ours is a boy too. Obviously no basis for that other than bump vibes Grin

Did you wait to find out with your other two? Are you just buying everything neutral?

strawberrysummer19 · 19/02/2022 19:11

@KizboBaggins the clinic sell cannons so they give you the ones with the sex of the baby so we purchased them there
They also put the extra images in a separate envelope which may give it away and the ones that didn't in another envelope, very well done
