Thank you lovley ladies!! ❤❤❤❤

@fpeg tell me about it! It was still a nightmare yesterday I was there an hour and all she was focusing on was the gender.. walks, sweets, fizzy drinks, star jumps, some questionable positions on the bed 🤣

I must admit even though baby had a strong heartbeat it's put me about a little how hards its been to get her to move! Hopefully she's in a better position at my 20 week scan in 2 weeks!

Vimto1991 · 21/01/2022 09:57

I’ve got my scan at 2 today! Any advice beforehand - full bladder/empty bladder sugary or fizzy drink/water?

I’ve been feeling baby kick so low down I wonder if they’re currently breached. 😱

PeeAche · 21/01/2022 10:00

@Vimto1991 they probably are but it's irrelevant at this point. They'll be doing somersaults soon! 😁

Good luck for today. Looking forward to hearing all your lovely scan updates Thanks

Olive60 · 21/01/2022 10:02

@Vimto1991 is this your 20 week scan? Good luck!
.... I went with an extremely full bladder to my gender scan at 17+4weeks and as soon as she started she stopped to ask me to go empty it. (Although on their website and my NHS appointment both state a full bladder so I'd still go with one and they can tell you to go to the loo if not) sweets & sugary drinks are suppose to make baby move... unless it's the one I'm carrying 🤣 Good luck xx

Vimto1991 · 21/01/2022 10:07

@PeeAche thank you!! Yeah hopefully they swish about into position, they have plenty of time to!

@Olive60 yeah it is my 20 week scan! I see so many conflicting things. I got told I wouldn’t need a full bladder for this one but hear so many people (including my friend at the same hospital) get told off for not having one, so think I’ll get it full cause I can atleast empty it haha 🙈
I had lilt before my 12 week scan and baby wouldn’t stop moving 😂 it says fizzy but doesn’t state sugary, I’m not sure they want a somersaulting baby again.
Same friend that went last time was there for three hours and they made her go back for a second try at a later date. 🙈🙈

Hi 👋🏽
It's so hard to keep up with everything!

I went pram shopping this week have decided on the Oyster 3 with the Maxi Cosi Pebble car seat.

Can not wait to purchase it ❤️

I'm 18 weeks and definitely feeling bubs move lots. It's so lovely

Hope you're all doing well.

Prema112 · 21/01/2022 10:50

Thinking of everyone with scans today especially you @beansprout55, praying all is well xx

@Olive60 congrats on your little girl! Glad she finally consented to you having a peak!

Prema112 · 21/01/2022 10:51

My DH tested negative for Covid for the first time today! And now my son has tested positive 😭 I think we are doomed to pass it round between us forever...

Olive60 · 21/01/2022 11:00

@prema112 thank you! Sorry you're stuck in a covid bubble! Same happened to us. First my partner, then daughter and then myself.

@unknownscot I had the Oyster with my first 10 years ago! I'm sure it's all upgraded now but I travelled with it alot, it was a great travel system and really sturdy. Ended up getting a Stokke Xplory after as I'd always wanted one but sold it after 2 months and went back to the oyster!

I'm really swaying towards the Joolz in navy this time around!

GrowBabyGrow · 21/01/2022 11:05

Oh its so exciting to hear about everyone's scans! 3 weeks until ours - I cannot wait.

Has anyone else found that their bump seems to literally pop out all of a sudden in the course of a day or night? Mine was pretty small on Monday so looked like I'd just eaten a bit too much but yesterday all of a sudden it felt like it 'popped' a bit more and is now unmistakedly a bump. Just in time for a bundle of maternity clothes to arrive from Vinted.

Matilda30 · 21/01/2022 11:27

Another TMI post from me. Bought anusol because haemorrhoids and spoke to the pharmacist to check it's safe to use as says to check on the box and she won't say and says to ask doc. It's a nightmare to get through to the doc at the best of times Confused

Congratulations to all of you that have had their scans!! I have mine on the 10th and can't wait!!
Today I am seeing my midwife as my appointment had to be reschedule to me having covid...hopefully I will be able to hear the heartbeat and have some reassurance that all is fine. I have felt what I think are some flutters but it was just wind!
@GrowBabyGrow last night my bump looked like a proper pregnancy bump! Even my husband said that it looked like a bump and not extra food!

RoseValleyRambles · 21/01/2022 12:43

@matilda30 do your midwife team have an email address? If so I'd maybe email them in case they're able to recommend.

Matilda30 · 21/01/2022 13:49

@RoseValleyRambles no, just a number. I'll leave a message with the docs and hopefully they'll get back to me. I think I have a very cautious pharmacist although I do understand and appreciate it.

Peony12 · 21/01/2022 13:49

Hi everyone. Im new to this forum. Im currently 20+1 with my first pregnancy, due on 9 June. Had my 20 week scan yesterday and all looked well

I’ve been having what I can only describe as tightenings- my lower abdomen will go rock hard for 30 seconds or so. It’s not painful at all. I looked this up and thought it might be Braxton hicks, but the midwife said they don’t start until at least 28 weeks?!

Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? Slightly concerned now about going into preterm labour!

Thanks x

fpeg · 21/01/2022 13:55

@Peony12 welcome! I read somewhere that braxton hicks can happen at any point in pregnancy and they're supposed to be non-painful so maybe they are 🤷‍♀️

jennixxx · 21/01/2022 14:05

@Peony12 welcome!

Ive had similar tightening aswell past day or so but ill be 20 weeks on Monday, ive read braxton hicks can happen at 20 weeks but they just more often happen from 28+ weeks im sure all is fine though especially if everything was well at your 20 week scan Smile

rathernotshare · 21/01/2022 14:38

Just had my 20 week scan, everything looking perfect (if not a little large!) and definitely still a girl 🥰

fpeg · 21/01/2022 14:49

@rathernotshare amazing news! Congratulations 💚

fpeg · 21/01/2022 14:51

To those that have already done this journey before... did you do do an NCT course? Was it actually useful? Thanks for any info ☺️

Flowerbug1994 · 21/01/2022 14:52

Had my 20 week scan this morning and all was well sonographer didn’t mention any problems at all. All she said was have you got a GTT booked which I have for March. On my report it says AC measurement plots above the 97th centile which has scared the life out of me any one else has measurements like this or know what they mean.

destiEos · 21/01/2022 14:52

@Peony12 Welcome! I'm sure the day before you and also have tightening in lower abdomen area, but no pain, assumed it was the little one moving into a different position? It comes and goes, so haven't given it much thought of thought it was a cause for concern.

Also - back from scan and everything looks fine, and....we're having a boy! Still buying the rose white snuzpod though 😂
