Congrats on the scans everyone! I’ve got mine tomorrow so seeing all your experiences is making me excited!!
When do you all plan on buying things like the pram? I love being organised but hate the idea of buying the pram and god forbid - something bad happening and having to return it. The pram I want is on offer at the moment and I can get an extra 10% off Cosatto so seems like a good deal. I just don’t know whether to wait or not. :( I’ve attached the price, I’m not sure if any of you know if this is a regular price and they do regular sales there, or if this is a bargain!

@vimto1991 johnlewis have a really good offer on mendela pumps almost down by 90 compared to usual price and im tempted to buy it but then i think its too early. Plus need to sort out storage space first Such a dilemma.

@MrsNT it’s so difficult isn’t it. Do we buy at a good price but hesistant to buy early, or buy when the timing feels right but at a higher cost. 😫

EarlGreywithLemon · 20/01/2022 11:40

@MrsNT burping overnight is indeed a challenge for the first three months. With our little one, we’d change her first, then feed her, then burp her - and I won’t lie, the burping took a while. Sometimes I’d miss judge the right moment to put her back in the Snuzpod, and I’d have to start all over again. How did I cope? I won’t lie, I was tired. But you do sort of get used to it. I was religious about napping in the day when she did. If it clashed with any activities, meet ups, or housework - too bad, sleep took precedence. My husband was on burping duties on Friday and Saturday nights, so if feed her and hand her over to him to deal with resettling her. And on weekends or if hr was working from home, he’d gave her for a few hours in the day while I napped. I also went to bed very early, say 8ish, and he’d stay up with her until 10-11, so I could get a good chunk of sleep.
The good news is it all got significantly easier at 3 months- she suddenly needed less burping and was easier to resettle.
@PurpleMoon12 I really need to invest in a mattress topper- is it thick?
@Matilda30 yes! They also had a few branded ones but they were thinner surprisingly

MrsNT · 20/01/2022 12:04

Ladies ive started doing 10 minutes of yoga and 10minutes of pilates from youtube. Easy ones but i realised My arms and wrists have zero strenght.😂🤯 kills my arms when doing some of the poses and the poses are fairly easy. Hoping i adapt quickly

I’ve been trying some prenatal yoga. One video wanted me to try the desk/crab pose. Are you kidding me 😂

JAR1981 · 20/01/2022 12:59

@Vimto1991 so glad the topper worked for you too! @Matilda30 mine is also a thick one.

@Prema112 you made me laugh so much likening the pregnancy pillow to a sea monster. You really do have to wrestle them! Mine is C shaped so now goes in between me and my husband. Not very romantic but does mean I no longer wake him up having to mount the pillow as I try clamber out of bed for a 4am pee.

JAR1981 · 20/01/2022 13:08

@Vimto1991 I’m waiting until the third trimester to buy. Maybe even later. I’m too scared of jinxing and also want the ability to return if the worst happens (although maybe I’ll change my mind as I get closer). John Lewis give a 15% discount if you do the baby appointment with them which makes their prices more compatible with deals online (valid for 3 months after the appointment). And they also have a good returns policy. So I’m just collating a massive list of everything I want so that we can order in one go with the discount closer to the time. I’ve also been told I won’t be allowed to go over my due date so at least that gives us a cut off.
Wish I could be more confident but I guess this is what 4.5 years of trying for a baby does to someone :(

PeeAche · 20/01/2022 13:19

Tiny, tiny little rolling "drum beat" has just started, very low down in my pelvis. 😻

RoseValleyRambles · 20/01/2022 13:28

@peeache so cute! I got a proper wriggle yesterday, and it was the sweetest thing.

RoseValleyRambles · 20/01/2022 13:32

Cheeky wipes still have their £10 off offer on until end of Jan, if they're on anyone's shipping list. Knocks down the coast of a kit by quite a bit.

Littlemilomoo · 20/01/2022 13:43

20 week scan went well and everything looks perfectly with little bean!!
I do however, have a low lying placenta that explains all my bleeds previously as it currently blocking the exit route!
Booked back in for a scan at 32 weeks to see if placenta has moved and if not I’ll be on weekly scans until 36 weeks. If it’s move moved by then ill be booked in for c-section which I’m abit gutted about as I had heart set on a water birth

@MrsNT I had similar twice since New Years. Tried to log onto my work radio and couldn't remember the pin, had to call up and ask for it then did it again the week later 😂. Expect minimal night sleeping for month 1-6, before 1 month or so they sleep all the time. But you will get used to night time Netflix sessions!

@Vimto1991 no idea about the price, but I'd look for a 2nd hand isofix base and save yourself the extra money personally. I didn't with my first, but they have minimal resale value so sold it for about £100 less than I paid, so might be able to grab one at a bargain. I've pretty much bought everything already, excluding nursery furniture, and that's only because I have no where to put it until the carpets done! But do what you feel most comfortable with. Saving money is my main goal this time round 😅

Tmi warning

What type of CM discharge are you ladies getting? Does it look like milky/cloudy?

OP posts:
Lostintranslatio · 20/01/2022 14:16

@MrsNT mine is milky, although I have less discharge than in first trimester.

Olive60 · 20/01/2022 14:25

@MrsNT yes!

Vimto1991 · 20/01/2022 14:32

@Brightsmoke oh good to know! I’ll keep an eye out second hand thanks!

@MrsNT yeah same as others bit milky, has a slight odd smell to it, too. I had heavy thrush, used canestan for four days, itching stopped and the cream started to burn so I stopped, so I am at the point of - is this discharge normal or still thrush, but good to see others are experiencing the milky discharge. 🙈

Prema112 · 20/01/2022 14:33

@JAR1981 I hear ya, also tried for 4.5 years for this baby. Sorry I can't remember are you an IVF-er? I have little milestones in my head which I just try to concentrate on so I don't get too overwhelmed. First it was getting to first scan, then 12 weeks scan, then 16 week midwife appointment, 20 weeks and now it's to get to 24 weeks when baby is hopefully more viable. Precious precious babies ❤️

Prema112 · 20/01/2022 14:36

Maybe I should try a different pillow! I think mine would be perfect if I just went to sleep on my side and woke up in the morning after an amazing nights sleep. Last night I was up 3 times for a wee, with a sea monster wrestle each time, DH was not impressed 😂

Prema112 · 20/01/2022 14:38

@Littlemilomoo Aww what a lovey picture 😍 So pleased to hear baby is perfect! Not so good about the placenta, I'm really hoping it moves for you in good time

Prema112 · 20/01/2022 14:38

@PeeAche Yay!! Isn't it the BEST!

JAR1981 · 20/01/2022 15:30

@MrsNT yep milky here! Varying quantities day to day but even a low day is more than pre-pregnancy.

@Prema112 yep IVF baby. 23 days until I hit 24 weeks (not that I’m counting 🤣).

Gorgeous pic @Littlemilomoo
