@pregnancydiaries i had my 1st and 2nd dose prior to grtting preg. 1st dose was ok.2nd dose side effects were horrrible. I was vomiting at like 2am with the worst body aches ever. So im scared to get a booster. I still havent decided whether to wait or get it.

Hey just joined! Due 12 June 22 with my first, so nice to read about people going through the same things! 😊

pregnancydiaries · 04/01/2022 16:48

@MrsNT it’s a crippling fear isn’t it. Hopefully there’s some ladies on here who haven’t been boosted and have had covid and can let us know their symptoms, that might help you a little. Xxx

Bango2019 · 04/01/2022 16:53

@beansprout55 I had very bad cold last week and suspected covid, so called my community midwife and she has informed me that if I have covid (was waiting for PCR results at the time) that I should call maternity unit at our hospital and let them know. I have heard that some hospitals do indeed prescribe blood thinners for some pregnant women. I would suggest you to get in touch with your midwife asap.

Bango2019 · 04/01/2022 16:55

@rathernotshare I am glad you are doing well🌸

Bango2019 · 04/01/2022 16:57

@olive60 thank you for your crib suggestion. Just had a look and I really liked it🤩

czycoup · 04/01/2022 17:00

Hi @DaisyB2022 welcome and congratulations!

PeeAche · 04/01/2022 17:02

@pregnancydiaries I had Covid last June as well. 😭

GrowBabyGrow · 04/01/2022 17:10

I'm going to be doing cloth nappies! Possibly not straight away but definitely once we get into the swing of things.

GrowBabyGrow · 04/01/2022 17:14

Re the boosters, very much don't want it to be a booster v not thread (there's so many of them on here) but you might not get the same vaccine as a booster as you did for your 1st and 2nd doses so you could opt to go to a centre that does a different vaccine as you might react better. I just had a sore arm and a slightly under the weather day (no fever or sickness just a bit tired) after my moderna booster. Thought I'd suggest in case it's helpful/ reassuring

jennixxx · 04/01/2022 17:21

Hey ladies. I had a private gender scan a couple weeks ago and while i was there i was told i have Anterior placenta, the lady didnt give me much info apart from i might not feel kicks on the top for a while and mostly on my side. Does anyone know if theres any dangers to having anterior placenta or is it just as safe as prosterior etc..?

MrsTwentyNine · 04/01/2022 17:35

Marking my place

Thanks for the new thread @MrsNT

Got the booster at 16 weeks after much delay due to the same fevers about side effects! Had a fever for one day but was totally fine otherwise. It was my 3rd Pfizer and the mildest side effects overall. Had covid last year and work in the NHS - too many people I know are getting Covid again now so try to get the booster everyone Sad

Thanks for starting the new thread and tagging us @MrsNT! :)

@EarlGreywithLemon if you can share the main list of things your friend sent you then that would be fab thank you!

I’ve been keeping a note of all the items and recommendations from everyone so far, it’s super useful hearing what you are all planning to get. What a lovely group this is!

MrsNT · 04/01/2022 17:42

@EarlGreywithLemon yes plz kindly share the list

Is it common knowledge amongst all your friends/family/colleagues that you are pregnant?

We started telling people at 13 weeks but only as and when we saw them. But everytime I tell someone I get like, I don't know how to describe it but it's like the morning after a heavy night when you think "should I have said that?" and get stressed because maybe we should wait until 20 weeks because what if somethings wrong with the baby but we don't know yet and I've lost track of who I've told.

Is anyone else like this? I know I should just not say anything but I get a burst of confidence (?) that it's all going to be ok and excitement when I tell someone then right after I get the regrets.

MrsNT · 04/01/2022 17:44

@jennixxx im in the same boat. Did some research and apparently it is perfectly normal. Have a doc in family and checked with her aswell and she also said its normal. Apart from not being able to feel so early on. Everyone has said you will feel eventually

@czycoup only my immediately family know but one of them leaked the news to an extended member (against my wishes..was well annoyed) and i then told them not to spread it further (although i doubt the extended member would keep it to herself). I told my manager today but have told not to share with rest of the team for the time being

OP posts:
czycoup · 04/01/2022 17:53

@MrsNT oh that's not fair when it's your news to tell. My MIL did that with our first but it was quite sweet at the time cos she was so excited.

Lostintranslatio · 04/01/2022 18:08

Hello! Joining the thread!

I have had my booster but still very afraid of going back to "normal life". I've been locking myself at my parent's but it is time to go back home, schools, etc and terrified of the virus getting into our home 😥

I had a 15 weeks scan today and we could confirm baby is a girl! But it took us three sweets and a bit of exercise in the pregnancy ball to her her to move. She was quite comfy seating there not moving 😂

Bango2019 · 04/01/2022 18:25

@Rolledthedice @MrsNT not as detailed or perhaps sophisticated but Bounty app has quite useful checklist for Baby, Hospital Bag and Weaning, if it helps.

MrsNT · 04/01/2022 18:33

@czycoup i had clearly told dont share with anyone yet but then went on and told someone right infront of me which was very annoying for me and the other person then scanned me from head to toe! I understand it is exciting news for family but they should listen to us when we say dont tell

DaisyB2022 · 04/01/2022 18:45

@jennixxx I also have this and been reassured it doesn’t make a difference other than at what stage we might feel movements because it’s providing extra cushioning! I also have a few friends who had an anterior placenta and none of them had any issues x

Rolledthedice · 04/01/2022 18:47

Thanks @Bango2019 - will look into that!

@jennixxx as @MrsNT said, it’s apparently very normal to have anterior placenta and nothing to worry about. I found out I have one too and immediately went googling which I instantly regretted! So I found a thread on Mumsnet of all the mums who had kids with this kind of placenta and it’s completely normal. :)

That’s the problem with private scans, sometimes they tell you information that you don’t need to necessarily know and it can then make you anxious.

Rolledthedice · 04/01/2022 18:50

Welcome @DaisyB2022! :) I’m also a FTM due 13th June, so we are very close in date!
