Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!
@surprised22 thank you. I know, time will tell. Think I will book an early scan as I won't be able to wait until 12wks!
Will be keeping a close eye on symptoms, last time I was so sick I ended up in hospital so praying that doesn't happen again. So far I just have sore breasts and soooo tired.
Are your twins identical or non identical? I've always wanted twins until my friend had them and I saw how much hard work it was having 2!!

annlee3817 · 30/12/2021 10:30

@309SJ
Yep bloating does eventually turn into the bump, although my last bump was always bigger in the evenings so assume still some bloat there.

Get your DH/partner do your drinks, I drank alcohol free fizz over Christmas topped with soda water so it tasted more like the real thing, and kept the bottle away from other people's drinks. Tonic water with ice and lemon is also a good one, people will assume you're having a G&T. If anyone pours you an alcoholic drink just walk around with it, no one will notice you not drinking it and assume you're topped up, my brother was completely clueless over Christmas as was my cousin

309SJ · 30/12/2021 10:36

Thank you, that’s a really good idea. I’ll get the husband on drink pouring duties :) thanks for the info re bloating - I’ll buy some stretchier clothes xxx

LSL0708 · 30/12/2021 10:46

Oh wow! That's amazing news @Lickerdysplit. Congratulations!!

annlee3817 · 30/12/2021 11:06

Congrats everyone :)

surprised12 · 30/12/2021 11:10

@309SJ my husband sneakily drank my drinks on Christmas Day. He was twice as drunk but no one suspected.....

spierse · 30/12/2021 12:13

Hi all,
BFP 25/12, And then another positive test this morning 😫

Due September 2022
calipoppy · 30/12/2021 12:25

Did anyone else find out after Christmas? I'm feeling so guilty about how much I've had to drink the last couple of weeks now!

Lickerdysplit · 30/12/2021 12:50

@LSL0708

Oh wow! That's amazing news *@Lickerdysplit*. Congratulations!!
Thank you! It still hasn't really sunk in 👀

I found out this morning and I also drank over Christmas. So long as you stop it or at least slow it down to a real minimum now you’ll be fine. I studied child development in psychology and wouldn’t have taken the risk myself if I knew it was going to cause an issue.
mummabear18 · 30/12/2021 13:11

For anyone looking for scientifically backed insights and studies on the side-effects of basically anything you are going to come across in pregnancy I would strongly recommend this book as it really puts your mind at ease on a whole bunch of topics including food, drinks, medication etc

From my last pregnancy where I wasn't aware for a while and was out at parties etc I was assured it's fine because the placenta doesn't form for a few weeks. As long as you stop when you find out! I'm not a drinker anyway really, just at a wedding or a party (which are incredibly few and far between now!!)

calipoppy · 30/12/2021 14:13

Thank you @mummabear18 and @girafferafferaffe I've definitely stopped now!! I actually stopped a couple of days ago as I went off the smell, should have guessed really shouldn't I! I've decided to cut out caffeine too as I did with my first so I feel like it's only fair haha. But I'm flagging already!

How's everyone else doing symptoms wise? Any nausea yet? I think mine started around 5-6 weeks last time!

salimali28 · 30/12/2021 14:19

I have no symptoms yet and really wish they would start so I feel pregnant! Though I know I'll change my mind if I get sickness as bad as the last time! Feeling worried today as tested again this morning (12 dpo) and there was no line progression since yesterday, I know you're not meant to test daily so leaving it now until Saturday which is when AF is due in the hopes of seeing a darker line. Really hope this is a sticky bean!

mgah90 · 30/12/2021 14:20

I had a few boozy nights before I found out too but not feeling too guilty as it was so early, and I’ll make up for it by stopping now. For NYE I’m planning to just have a drink in hand the majority of the time - no one will really notice if you’re not actually drinking it! And for January we can all pretend we’re doing dry January…perfect excuse!

Beck3115 · 30/12/2021 14:42

Yes @calipoppy I found out on Boxing Day whilst hungover! I feel very guilty x

Whoknew22 · 30/12/2021 14:45

@spierse how you feeling? I am struggling. The last 48 hours have been a cycle of sweats and shivers. I phoned the doc this morning as was worried about having such a high temp but she said just to keep on top of paracetamol every 6 hours.

@calipoppy I found out on Boxing Day and also had a good few over the Christmas period. Also probably how I got my other positive test result 😜

Whoknew22 · 30/12/2021 14:54

@salimali28 I recon I’m 4 weeks 2 days. This is the first day my 2nd line has came up pretty quick. My last pregnancy I tested at 4 weeks as something didn’t feel right and I was negative. We wernt trying and I tested a week later (5 weeks) as still no period and I had a pretty faint line so don’t get too hung up on it. Everyone is so different too.

I had a very very faint line at 12 dpo this time. It’s hard not to test, I’ve been testing every day but I’m confident now so will stop now I think 😂

girafferafferaffe · 30/12/2021 15:02

I'm struggling without caffeine already. I got such a headache yesterday!

salimali28 · 30/12/2021 15:07

@Whoknew22 it's encouraging to hear! I've been awful for testing this time around, it took longer to conceive than I'd expected and I'm just obsessed haha. The line is very clear but I sobbed over it this morning due to it not being any darker than yesterdays, so silly I know! It's hard to control myself 😂 just want some symptoms to start so I feel pregnant.

MSS22 · 30/12/2021 15:37

Yea they are identical girls....yea hard work but we didn know any difference and they are great company for each other now. No idea how they will react to a baby brother/sister lol

madeleine85 · 30/12/2021 16:19

@salimali28 i've been doing the same. I have POAS so many times, and obsessed over it. Hope you are feeling better! I found screenshotting them and making myself check vs 2 days ago has been saving me complete meltdowns. I'm desperate for some more symptoms too. I never thought i'd say this after the HG the last time, but I am welcoming morning sickness just so I "feel pregnant". Just sore boobs and occasional heartburn so far, neither of which I had with DD.

To anyone feeling bad about drinking, we didn't know about DD until 6 weeks gone last time and I got engaged and had my bday right at the end of that window. She is 2 and so healthy. Just cut out the alcohol when you find out was the rule from my doctor, she was very unconcerned, so please don't stress about it.

salimali28 · 30/12/2021 16:28

Thank you @madeleine85 glad I'm not the only one! Yes I've taken to staring at my 10dpo vs 12dpo to see that lovely line progress and will have to make sure I resist testing tomorrow! Early pregnancy is such a difficult time. I've had occassional sore boobs but nothing much, with DD I was being sick before I even had my BFP so there was no doubt!

I also drank quite a few glasses on a few occassions over christmas, my birthday is only a few days prior too which didn't help. Typically it's the first month I've touched alcohol since starting TTC 8 months ago 🤦🏼‍♀️

Tor88 · 30/12/2021 17:04

Hi everyone, congratulations on your BFPs, I've just had mine 💗😅🙏 Feeling a mixture of shock and gratitude!!

This will be my first, I'm 33 and have had my BFP second month of trying, so counting myself incredibly lucky (and praying the luck continues).

I've seen a lot of chat about drinking on this thread which is making me feel better because I've had a good few for the last 3 nights whilst visiting the final (and most boozy) part of my family. I must have implanted a few days ago which means I've been drinking whilst implanted, which is making me feel v sad :/ it's been about three drinks a night, but maybe four one night, all with food. Obviously no more!!

According to natural cycles my due date would be around the 9th of sept. Feel like I'm getting ahead of myself to even be thinking about that at this early stage!!

girafferafferaffe · 30/12/2021 18:11

Is anyone else carrying on exercising through? I do strength training as I've been trying to get stronger and I don't want to lose that. I was extremely unhealthy and unfit the last pregnancy and though I am in no way lighter this time, I am a lot stronger. I use fitness+ and they have a whole section of pregnancy strength exercises so I can use those and adjust the ones that aren't geared towards pregnancy.
