Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

Aw thank you @GivenchyDahhling :) I still can't believe it to be honest!

Congrats @reremum2b and @mgah90!

I also feel very anxious @mgah90 due to how long we've been TTC and what we've gone through with IVF. Made harder by a positive Covid test this morning :( Just trying my best to stay positive and tell myself everything will be ok.

Beck3115 · 28/12/2021 10:04

Morning everyone, welcome @mgah90.

It’s so so lovely how many of us are due at the same time now. When do we switch to weeks not dpo? I’d be 12/13 dpo or 3+6 according to my app.

Is there anyone on here from the north of England?

I am testing daily like a crazy woman. Have the same pain in my hip and lower back that I remember with my son but that was 6 years ago now so a distant memory!

Only other symptoms as such are headache, light nose bleeds, fatigue and nausea. How is everyone else doing?

X

Morning!! I'm in the north of England, and think I'm 5 weeks now? Or 5+1

I've got very, very sore boobs, low energy sometimes, nausea but worked out it's when I've got an empty stomach, lost my appetite completely, and have a sore back.

Good morning everyone :) please can I ask some questions? I’m really sorry if they sound naive.
Are you considered pregnant in weeks from the date of your last period? Do they count 12 weeks from the date of your last period to when your first scan should be?
I did 3 pregnancy tests yesterday, including Clearblue in the middle of the day which were all very clearly positive. I did a clear blue early digital on Christmas Eve because I felt unwell (we weren’t TTC) and it was a very clear “not pregnant” so I was completely in shock yesterday. Can I ask why people are continuing to test after their positive? (I really don’t mean to cause offence I’m just not sure if I’m meant to continue taking pregnancy tests or not). Also I read online about taking folic acid - should I wait to speak with my GP and ask them or do I just buy this at the supermarket? Xx

Whoknew22 · 28/12/2021 11:12

@LSL0708 awwww that’s a shame. Hope you are ok. Covid is rife just now hey? Just everywhere. We’ve been in close contact too so just waiting on that second line. Hoping for a darker second line on 1 test and no line on the other 😂😂. Strange times we live in just now.

Luckily when I had my little boy things were normal. We locked down when he was 6 months old. Hoping for things to be normal again come September 🙌🏾

GivenchyDahhling · 28/12/2021 11:27

@309SJ You should start taking folic acid straight away (actually apparently you should take it whilst TTC but I never did!), I take Pregnacare which claims to have everything in it but cheaper brands I believe are perfectly fine.

In terms of dates, yes from the first day of your last period. So technically you are two weeks pregnant before you even had the sex that led to conception Smile. So, the first day of my last period was the 25th Nov making me 4+5 today.

Regarding testing - I think it’s a comfort/reassurance to kept seeing those positive tests. I haven’t re-tested personally but I totally understand why people do!

Thank you for your answers :) I’ll pick some up folic acid up today! I am 4+2 then, nice to see how close we all are in dates xx

Beck3115 · 28/12/2021 11:41

@surprised12 I can sympathise with the empty stomach bit I keep going really funny if I get too hungry.

Is this your first baby?

@309SJ I’m just retesting for reassurance as my first pregnancy wasn’t very smooth x

Yeah - it's hard to keep something in your stomach when you just aren't hungry!

It's my second pregnancy but I lost the first one at 12 weeks, hoping this one sticks around. But my symptoms feel different to last time - so hoping thats a good sign.... or I'm telling myself it is.

madeleine85 · 28/12/2021 15:51

Welcome to all the new joiners and congratulations!!!

@mgah90 I’m absolutely with you as a nervous wreck. Last one was a surprise and I just went with it bc I didn’t know better. Now I’m obsessing over every little symptom/pee stick. I had a drs appt yesterday and they took bloods, so I have the follow up tomorrow then results 24-48 after. At least they said if it was ectopic etc they should know from the blood, which I found weird, but good to know.

@309SJ if you use a pee stick which has a line rather than a digital you can generally see the line get stronger as opposed to a yes/no. Sometimes people lose the pregnancy really early “a chemical mc” and the line stops progressing/goes faint again. People with a history of it are more likely testing to make sure/give peace of mind. Good luck with your little bean, and get that folic acid going, it helps develop the essential things and prevents against neural defects. I didn’t know I was pregnant first time till about 6 weeks and wasn’t taking anything at that point and our 2 year old is very ok so don’t panic that you haven’t started yet. 👍

Frankie2015 · 28/12/2021 17:06

Can I join please? Got my BFP on the 24th! Can't actually believe it as was about to start clomid on my next cycle as have PCOS!! Had a couple of chemicals and a miscarriage in August. I feel so hopefully this time! 🤞🏻 keep POAS as a bit addicted to seeing the line actually come up! Due on the 3rd September.

LaurenH0893 · 28/12/2021 19:20

Can I join too Smile
We got our BFP on 23rd (tested early so was shocked we got the BFP) - what an amazing Christmas prezzie for us all !
We're due 5th September according to my app.
This is our 2nd baby, DD is 3 in March. We've been very lucky & caught pregnant 1st month trying both times!
I had a lot of symptoms with my last pregnancy, this time I just feel bloated & uncomfortable down there.
I suffered awful sickness too... I mean i do need to lose some weight (secretly hoping sickness turned up)GrinWink but it was awful ! Hahaa
Hope you are all feeling well & excited for what's ahead !

madeleine85 · 28/12/2021 20:46

Congratulations @Frankie2015 and @LaurenH0893, what lovely news!

Frankie - that is ssuch wonderful news that you didn't have to start clomid, you must be thrilled! I also have peed on far too many sticks. I could never understand why the easy at home boxes had so many pregnancy vs ovulation tests in the mixed box and now I finally get it.

lauren - last time my symptoms didn't really kick off till week 6 which feels so far away just now! Currently feeling heartburn/and nipples are extremely tingly, neither of which I had with DD. The other side effects seemt to have subsided, and i'm missing them, I want to "feel pregnant"! Also the same with your comment re. wouldn't mind a bit of sickness weight loss. I went to the doctors to get an early blood draw yesterday at 4+1 by my maths and they read my weight out 4-5 times and i was in my head going "oh please just stop, i know I have put on 10 lbs since my daughter" lol. Waiting for the 2nd blood draw tomorrow and the result the next day and will likely drive myself demented in the meantime. Keep checking the first result against what is "normal" and i'm getting nowhere good even though the doctor said it was a good early read.

girafferafferaffe · 28/12/2021 21:49

Hi! I literally just got my bfp- due 8th sept :)

This is #2 and am so excited!

LSL0708 · 29/12/2021 09:11

It really is @Whoknew22. It's just a bit like a heavy cold so I'm hoping plenty of fluids and rest will keep both me and the baby safe. I hope you manage to avoid that second line on the covid test and see a stronger second line on the pregnancy test!

I have an early scan booked at the IVF clinic on 10th January so am excited but also really nervous for that.

I'm also in the north of England @Beck3115 @surprised12

Congratulations to all the new joiners!!!

Whoknew22 · 29/12/2021 09:55

@LSL0708 my other half tested positive this morning and I’ve been up all night with sweats and shivers. Total nightmare. Got a PCR done this morning but don’t think I’m escaping it this time. Hopefully it’s a mild dose for you. I’m more worried about being locked up with a toddler for 10 days 😂

Blythwind · 29/12/2021 10:36

Can I join please!
Got a positive yesterday. Currently feeling nauseous with sore boobs...

We have been TTC for 2.5 years so I'm really hoping we will be ok

mgah90 · 29/12/2021 10:50

@LSL0708 ugh sorry to hear about the covid, not fun… and yes I can imagine that the anxiety must be crazy when it comes to IVF! I really hope all goes well for you, stay positive!

@madeleine85 yeah it’s crazy how your brain starts obsessing over every tiny thing. Good you’ve been to the doctor and started the process though! I haven’t done anything yet as still feels early - my period isn’t even late yet (partly why I’m feeling nervous). Will probably call GP next week!

@Frankie2015 Congrats! I have PCOS too so thought it would take us much longer. So sorry about your miscarriage and chemicals, hoping this one is all positive for you! ✨

Frankie2015 · 29/12/2021 11:11

@mgah90 Thank you!! It's feels like it's been a long road to get here but finally feel so optimistic about this pregnancy! 🤞🏻 congratulations to you too!! Ive found pcos is a minefield and trying not to read to much about that and pregnancy not to freak myself out! I was only diagnosed a couple of months ago after all the trouble trying to conceive this time round

@madeleine85 totally agree! Ive done 5 tests now which isn't bad for me I'm trying not to do one every day and only have 1 digital weeks one left now! Even went to Asda stared at the pregnancy tests and walked away! Must not buy any more!! 🤣 my little set so far! Annoying the digital one goes after a while

Feels so nice the line are always dark!

Due September 2022
yesthatsright · 29/12/2021 11:18

Congrats to you all Smile I got a stronger positive this morning. Still 3 days to go until AF is due.
Question if anyone would know.. according to my app I ovulated on 18th Dec, DH and I DTD on 14th and 19th Dec, which do you think is the most likely date I conceived?

kitty1993 · 29/12/2021 12:02

@Frankie2015 so glad to see I'm not the only one to take loads of tests. I think I'm satisfied that I'm pregnant now! 😂 I left a FRER on the table and DP goes "you know I believe you're pregnant you don't need to keep taking these tests?" I told him I wanted to see line progression but I think that whole concept has gone straight over his head.
I'm back at work today until the weekend and I really can't get myself focussed! I just want to google pregnancy stuff and lie about in my pjs.

Frankie2015 · 29/12/2021 12:20

@kitty1993 my DH said the same "ok I think you have done enough now" I still get anxiety each time I do one though!! Taking to prodding my boobs to double check they are still painful now 🤣
I'm working today and till the weekend too! Luckily at home so I'm still in my pjs and been looking at maternity policy already to work out what maternity pay I will get!

surprised12 · 29/12/2021 13:04

That's what I've been doing today! 3 months paid and then statutory- very grim!

309SJ · 29/12/2021 13:20

@Frankie2015 @kitty1993 @surprised12 me too!! I can’t concentrate at work I keep reading and rereading the maternity policies and I’ve also booked an early scan for 8 weeks ❤️

Frankie2015 · 29/12/2021 13:37

@surprised12 mine isn't too bad, full pay for 3 months then half pay for 6 months. Have started to put a bit of a plan together to try and save as much as I can to make up the differences! Whilst also googling lovely nursery furniture and wallpaper I can't afford any more 🤦🏼‍♀️

@309SJ ahh that's lovely! Something to really look forward to! 🥰 hopefully the time will fly by now we are back at work! I'm going to ring my Fertility clinic this afternoon even though I never really used them wonder if I could still book in there for reassurance scans
