Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

Hi @Whoknew22 I'm ok so far just scratchy throat and fatigue, thankfully no temperature, Im on low dose heparin as I was diagnosed with APS (this is my 5th pregnancy after 4 losses) really just trying to stay calm and not overthink things as I have had so many challenges, hoping this time will finally be different....really hope you start feeling better soon I know it's very stressful
Seeing so many ladies on here with challenges hope things work out well for us all 🤞🙏

annlee3817 · 30/12/2021 18:32

Sorry to hear you've got covid @spierse hope you get better soon.

@girafferafferaffe I usually run, but annoyingly hit a pot hole four weeks ago and have a small fracture, I'm going to do my strength too in the hope that I can get back doing small runs once healed 🤞

girafferafferaffe · 30/12/2021 18:42

@annlee3817 oh no! That's awful! Poor you. Hoping for a quick recovery. I fell out of the loft nearly 2 years ago and it's been a long recovery for the injury I had from that. Thankfully I'm all good now

annlee3817 · 30/12/2021 18:44

@girafferafferaffe owch 😖 good that you're ok now

Tor88 · 30/12/2021 18:47

@girafferafferaffe was just thinking the same thing... I usually run and do pilates and plan to continue both, however between illness and Xmas it's been about a month now since I've done anything at all which makes me feel like I need to tred a tad cautiously, as I know that starting new excercise in pregnancy isn't a great plan... Whereas I'm told continuing what you're doing should be fine (so you should be fine to continue strength training!).

girafferafferaffe · 30/12/2021 18:53

I think if you take it slow and go easy you should be okay. I really want to carry on with it as I know it'll improve the way I go through this pregnancy. I was sooo unfit and so uncomfortable last time.

vixxx666 · 30/12/2021 19:30

I got my Christmas wish! I tested on Monday morning and it was positive :)
I'm between 4&5 weeks pregnant.
I have two children already but the youngest is 9 (almost 10). I had an early miscarriage in September so I'm incredibly anxious.

I've had mild nausea in the evenings, initially my nipples were SO sore, that's eased off a little but I have intermittently tender boobs. I've had mild cramping (that lasts for a minute or two) since 23rd, excessive clear discharge, mild lower back pain and stretching/pulling feeling in my uterus.

So paranoid I'm going to miscarry again. Have been racking my brains to try and remember how I felt when I was pregnant with my 2 kids but it was too long ago lol.

madeleine85 · 30/12/2021 20:24

@girafferafferaffe I run a lot/do weights/struggle with not working out. The most important thing is to listen to your body and not overheat in the first trimester when the neural tubes are developing. Also stay hydrated. I worked out too much and put myself into early labour at 32 weeks last time from dehydration which I am very keen to avoid this turn around, so I am now paranoid. My doctor strictly told me this week that I could do light running and weights, but no HIIT training/bootcamps. I loved body pump workouts last time in the early stages, my back became really weak from all the changes, and this was the only thing that helped the pain. Hope you find your balance!

holdgh · 30/12/2021 20:56

I'm a September due date too. 8th September by current calculations. Like for many of you, it's still sinking in and I can't quite believe it! A Christmas miracle and our first baby too. Just hoping the next 8 weeks go ok and I'm a tad anxious but so it's so helpful reading the comments above and knowing I'm not alone and taking all the advice on board re light running as I'm a runner Smile

Sleepy86 · 30/12/2021 21:53

Hi all, can I join you! Got my BFP today, AF not due until Saturday and I believe my EDD is 11th September. We have a DD who will be 4 in Feb, I feel like I’ve forgotten all the early pregnancy symptoms from last time. This time round I’ve been having hot flushes and cramping. Don’t remember either from last time, but hoping for a nice sticky bean!

AliM93 · 30/12/2021 22:31

Hi!!

Am I ok to join?

Got my BFP yesterday when AF was due, the line came up instantly!! Wasn’t really expecting much as I had some very light spotting last week so thought I was going to come on, but noticed when I rolled over in the middle of the night my boobs really hurt!! And then I couldn’t get back to sleep with night sweats etc. Very excited but also apprehensive after a previous loss last year.

Congrats to everyone with their BFP’s, the TTC is a rollercoaster for sure ❤️

girafferafferaffe · 30/12/2021 23:19

@madeleine85 thank you for your reply, that's really great information. I can't do HIIT really because I screwed my Achilles by doing too much jumping so I just switched to weights and yoga and walking instead. I have been trying to keep a glass of water near me all the time because I am absolutely awful at remembering to drink!

Whoknew22 · 31/12/2021 06:21

I’m so worried about the overheating just now. I’m feeling better today but the last few days I’ve been pretty poorly and had a real temperature. Been trying to keep it down with paracetamol but covid has hit me hard. Thankfully I think I’m over the worst and it was only a few days so hopefully not done any damage. My GP wasn’t concerned. Fingers crossed.

Light exercise is fine. My last pregnancy I was told to take it easy but more due to being more prone to injury due to body producing more relaxin and progesterone. I will be doing some light running, last time I did some hiit and spin too but took out all impact exercises so no jumps at all. Same applies when/if breastfeeding due to same hormones xx

Chasingrainbows1518 · 31/12/2021 06:50

Hi all

Can I join too please? Congrats on all your amazing BFPs!

I got my first BFP on Christmas Eve, have tried to test every other day to check line progression and got 2-3 on a clearblue digital yesterday. I have irregular cycles (they range anywhere from 28-40 days) and I haven’t been tracking ovulation so I’m really not sure when my due date is. We DTD on 6th, 8th, 9th and 11th Dec and my last period was 21st November. My last few cycles have been 32, 33 and 39 days long so based on all of this I’m guessing I’m due early September 🤔

Symptoms have been on and off so far a bit of nausea, mild niggly cramping, headaches and sore boobs but nothing much yet, keeping my fingers crossed for more symptoms soon.

This will be my 3rd baby, with my 1st I had HG and pre eclampsia, induced at 39 weeks and had a major PPH. Was classed as high risk with my second, had HG again and maternal sepsis twice so had an emergency c/s at 39 weeks…so naturally feeling a bit worried about what is to come this time around and already worrying about potentially having a VBAC - will have to try not to get ahead of myself and see what the consultant recommends nearer the time I guess!

@Whoknew22 you are reading my mind, the worry about fever is so stressful, mine kicked in yesterday evening managed to keep it below 37.7 with paracetamol but it was an awful night, shakes and shivers, overheating, night sweats, I really don't feel great. I had my booster 3 weeks ago and still got this so I would urge everyone to just be super careful as omicron seems to be more contagious than the common cold, and we all have weakened immune systems right now. I would not wish this on my worst enemy i feel awful and the worry is a nightmare 😕

buttercuplizzy · 31/12/2021 08:40

@girafferafferaffe

Is anyone else carrying on exercising through? I do strength training as I've been trying to get stronger and I don't want to lose that. I was extremely unhealthy and unfit the last pregnancy and though I am in no way lighter this time, I am a lot stronger. I use fitness+ and they have a whole section of pregnancy strength exercises so I can use those and adjust the ones that aren't geared towards pregnancy.
I do strength training and I hope to continue... saying that I was very poorly in previous pregnancies, so I'm just taking it each day. Off to the gym now and just making the most of it whilst I can.
Whoknew22 · 31/12/2021 08:48

@spierse mine is better today and last night was a better night but the previous nights it was 38.3 that was with paracetamol. I feel worried. However I did phone the docs yesterday and she said to take paracetamol every 6 hours but not to worry and everything will be ok. Still makes you concerned though doesn’t it. I’m the same, had my booster about 6 weeks ago and didn’t expect it to hit me this hard. Like you say weakened immune systems now.

I wasn’t Ill with my last pregnancy but had a worrying time after scans for a few weeks and some regular check ups. Everything is ok and my little boy is so healthy. However, I suppose there’s always going to be something to worry about isn’t there?

Whoknew22 · 31/12/2021 08:50

@spierse I should have said, I really hope you feel better soon. I had a really dark 48 hours but defo feeling better today so I hope you feel better really soon xx

Tor88 · 31/12/2021 09:48

So sorry to hear about everyone suffering with covid!! Sounds so stressful.

I think know what you'll advise, but I have my booster jab booked for Jan 4th and I'm a tad worried about that. I had really bad side effects with both jabs, a fever of 38+, in bed for 3 days with sweats and shakes, so I fully expect to get the same reaction. And on the contrary, DH had covid pretty badly a few months ago and I didn't even get it! So I have been toying with the idea of delaying my booster slightly until things are a bit more 'settled'. Is that mad?!? It's just such early days in the pregnancy to knowingly give myself a high temp...

GivenchyDahhling · 31/12/2021 09:54

@Tor88 I could have written your post myself; I had the exact same reaction to the jabs. I also had COVID last Oct/Nov, and have a sneaking suspicion I’ve had it again over Christmas although not tested, just full of cold. To me, having had it plus the two vaccines, I don’t think the booster is necessary right now given for several days of misery that will inevitably follow. Not a popular choice I know, and I will have it eventually, but I don’t like the timing right now.

Tor88 · 31/12/2021 10:01

@GivenchyDahhling ooo thats interesting. I thought I would only here the opposite advice!! It's really tricky isn't it. I know omicron is everywhere but I WFH, so it's like I have 100% of being ill with the vaccine, but a much lower chance of being ill with covid.

When do you think you'll feel secure enough to take your booster?? Because I do want it. I was thinking I re book for 6 weeks maybe (so in two weeks time)?

GivenchyDahhling · 31/12/2021 10:04

@Tor88 When I was pregnant with DS1 I was offered Whooping cough there and then at my 12 week scan which I had, apparently they are offering flu and COVID alongside scans in some hospitals in which case I will have it then I think (not sure if it’s still going to count as flu season in 7ish weeks but I will if it is).

GivenchyDahhling · 31/12/2021 10:06

Actually might have been 20 week scan with whooping cough - can’t remember but it was literally next door and very easy!

Morning mamas - sorry to hear some of you are poorly I hope you’re on the mend soon ❤️ I’ve got a UTI but GP won’t prescribe until the lab confirms the infection type which means waiting til Tuesday as they’re closing early for NYE so won’t be open when the labs come back. I’m panicking about waiting until Tuesday with no treatment (using home remedies) any advice? I’ve worried myself googling untreated UTI in pregnancy Xx

I’d drink as much as possible and try cranberry juice (not from concentrate)
