Hello everyone!

I have just had my BFP this morning, and based on dates I am due on the 1st September! I’m only just late on my period so hopefully there will be a few more of us over the next few weeks. Last pregnancy my date was pushed back a few days and DS ended up being a full 12 days late after that so I’m not too wedded to the 1st September!

@BlueSky57

That is great to see! How far along are you?

I got my BPF on Sunday just gone & it only showed 1-2 weeks although I’m 5+1 going from there first day of my last period (December 8)

I'm 5+6 I think! I last did a digital test on 30th Dec and it showed 1-2 weeks then.

I'm booked in for an early scan next weds so will find out a more accurate date then hopefully! But atm I'm EDD is 9th sept x

MOLWI · 12/01/2022 17:43

@SkaterChick from what I've read and been told on here I think I'll be fine!! I never have it really touching my scalp which seems to be whats not allowed!

HopefulMummy44 · 12/01/2022 18:14

Hey @LizzeyBenett
5+5 too! If no cramps you should be fine. Might just be spotting. But id let you midwife know just to be on the safe side.

@Gemmasl35

Hi ladies I filled out a referral online nearly two weeks ago didn't have any confirmation email or anything was starting to think I didn't send it right. I tried to call the number a few times with no luck but this afternoon I received a call from the booking office, and the next available appointment is the 31st jan I will be 9+1 then so I'm guessing going by that they are very busy in my area or have a back log due to Xmas and new year maybe. My booking appointment is also over the phone which is new to me and they will the invite me in to have bloods done my last pregnancy was 7 years ago is this how they do things now or it it covid precautions x
I've just had mine via telephone- it's covid restrictions still! :(
madeleine85 · 12/01/2022 19:48

Hi everyone, I hope all is well. I just had my first scan. They measured at 6 weeks 4 days and then said 7+1 based off period, but I ovulate late so the 6+4 seems more likely. I should be due right at the end of Aug/beginning of Sep. Saw a tiny heartbeat on the screen which was nice, and heard it very briefly. Went in there dreading it in case there wasn't anything there, so very relieved. Also beyond relieved there is just one lol.

annlee3817 · 12/01/2022 20:17

Congratulations @madeleine85 glad it went well.

@Gemmasl35 mine was face to face at the hospital, last year they were doing them at the local rugby ground, odd that it varies so much from trust to trust. My friend had hers over the phone pre covid, and that was the standard where she is.

Sassy144 · 12/01/2022 20:19

@madeleine85 that's great news, so lovely to see and hear the heartbeat, and good news it's only one - I've been panicking about the prospect of multiples 😂

lickerdysplit · 12/01/2022 21:24

@madeleine85 I had an early scan today too! 6+1. This is my first ever pregnancy so I was totally bricking it! Seeing the heartbeat was mind blowing 🤯❤️

Rolo104 · 12/01/2022 21:27

Hi, please can I join? Got my BFP about 6 days ago. I think I'm due around the 20th of September. Time is moving so slowly already!

SkaterChick · 12/01/2022 21:28

For those of you that had early scans, has anyone had one where if you dated from ovulation you'd only be 5+4?
The epu have asked me to call to book a scan when I'm 6 weeks, dating from my last period.
This puts me at 5 weeks tomorrow. But I ovulated a few days late on 27th Dec.

They can't book in advance so I have to call on the day I'm considered 6 weeks and they'll have me in within a couple of days. But in so anxious it'll be too early and won't help with my anxiety!

PixelsMom · 12/01/2022 21:42

Hi @SkaterChick, I had an early placement scan at the epu at 5+1 due to my history (had an ectopic in Aug which was self resolving) and we saw a gestational sac and yolk sac at the scan 🙂. That certainly helped with my anxiety just to know that it’s in the right place this time. They were monitoring my hcg and it was above 3000 then so I expected to see something at the scan, don’t worry if you don’t though like you said you may have ovulated later.

I had another follow up 6+3 and got to hear the heartbeat too! 💕

Hopingforarainbow27 · 12/01/2022 21:43

Hi can I join here too. I hope I can stay! I've had two losses, one in 2020 and one in 2021. Got my bfp this morning 🌈

Hopingforarainbow27 · 12/01/2022 21:48

@Daisydolly1986 I'm due 21 September and have had two miscarriages so I understand your anxiety

Hopingforarainbow27 · 12/01/2022 21:49

Think I'm 13dpo!

Due September 2022
madeleine85 · 12/01/2022 21:54

@SkaterChick yup I did! With my first it was 5+2 as it was a complete shock and we went to discuss options/get our heads around what we had made 😂. Attaching what they took back then for reference. This time I told them I ovulate on day 20/21 not 14 so I’m a week behind period calculation date but they didn’t listen, so they put me as 7+1 even though I measured 6+4. Both were internal wand scans not the belly ultrasound and didn’t pick up very much. Attaching today’s too at 6+4 which I marked up for my husband so you can see the difference one week later. It really wasn’t much 😂

HopefulMummy44 · 12/01/2022 22:16

@SkaterChick I had vaginal scan on Monday at 5+3 as similar to @madeleine85, I was having pains and it was to check it wasn't ectopic.
It's eased my anxiety about that. But definitely still on edge. As most early pregnant mums are. There was no heart beat yet but I expected that.
This I what it looked like...

@PixelsMom @madeleine85 @HopefulMummy44
Thank you! This has made me feel loads better about going from the period date.
They're seeing me as I had a self resolving eptopic last year. I have none of the one sided cramps I had then so I'm hoping this is a good sign.

annlee3817 · 13/01/2022 07:34

That's a good strong result @Hopingforarainbow27 mine was still a bit faint at that stage :)

Love the scan pictures everyone

Belle2210 · 13/01/2022 07:50

Congratulations @Hopingforainbow27 😊 Agree that's a good strong line.

Yesterday husband asked if I fancied a cooked breakfast for supper on his way home and thought made me feel queasy. By the time he actually was home I'd gone off what I had wanted and was dying for sausage, egg and beans 🤷‍♀️ 😂. Felt like I'd not eaten all day when I had it and that wasn't the case. After supper had a strange dizzy turn then had to go to bed as I was shattered all of a sudden. Slept 6:15pm till 9pm then that was me awake till about 2am 🙄 went through to the spare room to stop waking him up.

Going to call the Fertility clinic today as I've not heard back whether I should get an early scan just to check bean is in the right place (higher risk with blocked tube) so 🤞 only a couple of weeks till private scan but I'd like to stop worrying about that atleast.

Hope everyone else is fine!

SkaterChick · 13/01/2022 07:56

Just wondering what all y'all thoughts are on when to tell your employer?
My employer knows about my eptopic mc, I was off work for a week and decided to tell them why.

On Thursday next week I'll call the epu and I'll get an app prob Fri or Mon. Given that it'll be really short notice to need to leave work (epu is open 8-3 and I work 6-3) I dont know what to say, I also don't know how long the app will take. What if something is wrong and I end up being admitted and there all day like I was last time. Im not ready for them or my team to know but I don't know what excuse to use.
Best thing I've come up with so far is calling in sick for the day but I'd rather not seeing as I had a week +1 day off with the MC, and then other days here and there off sick with migrains and stuff and I've only worked here since August...
I feel like I'm over thinking things but it's not like I can be oh I have a hosp app in X weeks and need some time off, it's the emergency short notice that's throwing me.

PumpkinsMum18 · 13/01/2022 08:17

@Belle2210 I had a terrible nights sleep too 😭 not fun! Trying to convince my husband I need a pregnancy pillow but the one I want is £90 Grin

PumpkinsMum18 · 13/01/2022 08:22

@SkaterChick that sounds tricky. Hopefully your employer will be understanding with late notice appointments. I don’t have that issue this time as I don’t work (SAHM). With my first pregnancy, I had a few early appointments with doctor/midwife/scan and my manager called me into a meeting to see what was happening! I did tell her why at the time, but thinking back it was a bit rude to demand to know about my medical situation before I had officially decided to announce it.

Sassy144 · 13/01/2022 08:24

@SkaterChick I think just tell your employer whenever it feels right for you. If it will make it easier with your appointments, maybe just tell them. I've been considering telling my boss maybe around 6-7 weeks to make it easier with appointments, any sick leave or adjustments I might need, and also we're planning a big event in march which I'd have a big role in, and I think they'd want to know before then for health and safety/risk assessment reasons.

Whoknew22 · 13/01/2022 08:25

@SkaterChick I’ve told my line manager but no one else. I work for the NHS and feel very protected. This is my second pregnancy and I told my line manager early last time and it really worked in my favour in terms of risk assessments and feeling supported.

I have my first booking in app on 31st and obviously get the time off for it so just wanted to be honest about it. I’m lucky in that I work from home just now so don’t think I’ll be telling anyone else until after the 20 week anomaly scan. Only because we had a few worries after the 12 week scan so for us the 12 week scan didn’t mean we were out of the worry woods.

Just do whatever you think is right for you but for us it felt right to tell 😃

Belle2210 · 13/01/2022 08:27

@SkaterChick
Ive actually already said to my manager because I ended up off this Monday to get checked for DVT in my leg I just thought if anything else comes about I'd rather she knew before hand. I'm 5 weeks today so still very early. Started my job at the end of Sept so was a bit worried with timing but she's been really nice. Think it depends on the manager tbh. I work from home so can make up hours if I need to.

@PumpkinsMum18
Think I might look onto one of these magic pregnancy pillows too a bit down the line 😂 Pregnancy insomnia is real and constipated night cramps are the devil 😭.
