Hi ladies I have just got my BFP after ttc for a year. I'm 34 and it's my first pregnancy. I just thought I'd start a thread for anybody who has also just got a BFP. I'm excited but also terrified that something will go wrong! How are we all feeling?

It's heartening to read all of the experiences here, I feel less like a loner. Has anybody else experienced 3 positive pregnancy tests and 4 negatives? The first positive was with FMU and two other positives were midday, the negatives included a Clear blue digital that tells you the weeks and it said not pregnant :/ my last period was weird and I suspected something wasn't right but assumed it was Covid jab related. My next missed period won't be until early September so how could I have 3 clear positives and still have had negatives if I am pregnant? I'm baffled. My boobs hurt and every time I eat I feel like a balloon, I've got the same headaches and fatigue that I had with DS1, anyone else in this boat?

wannabeamummysobad · 26/08/2021 10:37

Hi @Flamingogirl08 spoke to the gp and they said I was fine to have an early scan privately if I wanted. They did say that 7/8 weeks would be better as I'll get the confirmation I want waiting until then. Any earlier especially if you've got your dates wrong might lead to stress if the sonographer can't get the milestones you'd expect and cost loads of money in terms of going back to check.

I'm going to book in for 10th/11th September as I'll be 7w 4/5d by my calc so the HR and sac milestones will (PMA) be visible and show a healthy pregnancy.

Flamingogirl08 · 26/08/2021 10:45

@RicherThanYew I'm not sure how far along you are but I do believe the digital ones aren't as sensitive as the pink dye ones in early pregnancy? So maybe stick to fmu with a pink dye test?

@wannabeamummysobad Ah thanks for that. I'll be 8 weeks on the 16th so maybe I'll book one for that week

Hi Ladies

Hope you don't mind me joining! I took an early test this morning and came back with a line! I'm in shock to be honest! Second cycle of ttc. I am just worried I have now tested too early and will end up with chemical. I am 3 weeks 3 days x

candyfloss18 · 26/08/2021 14:54

I'm only 3 days late on my period and I got this positive yesterday is everyone else's this dark ? With my daughter I didn't get a dark positive for a good while

I think I'm now 4/5 days late for my period but was having my BFP a day before. That's what mine looked like yesterday - congratulations! 🎉
RicherThanYew · 27/08/2021 00:10

@candyfloss18 Wow, that is one stonking great positive!

@Flamingogirl08 Thank you for the advice I bought pink dye early detection tests and did one today but negative again, I'll try again with FMU tomorrow. Period is very clearly not here though Hmm

Flamingogirl08 · 27/08/2021 12:48

@RicherThanYew How did you get on with your morning test?

Hey, joining if you don't mind. Got my BFP last Friday. I think I'm approx 5 weeks today based on my usual cycle. My boobs are slightly sore and been having some cramp/twinges but other than that I feel normal. No sickness yet. Are you all the same?

hopingfor · 27/08/2021 20:44

@Bluepop09 hi welcome congratulations I'm very similar to you! 5 weeks today and I've not had any sickness feeling yet... I'm thinking of getting a Beta test done? Not sure.... my scan is on 8th feels like so far away.

Flamingogirl08 · 27/08/2021 20:53

@Bluepop09 I was 5 weeks yesterday I didn't really have any symptoms but we went out for dinner today and I felt so nauseas afterwards 🤢

@Flamingogirl08 You won't believe this but I got out of bed and went to the loo, got a pregnancy test out of the wrapper... then peed in the loo while the stick stayed safe and dry in my hand so I have to wait until the morning 🙈🙈 I've had cramp all day today but no spotting or bleeding so I've gone to great trouble and expense to arrange a private early scan tomorrow. I've had losses before and I just want to know if all the cramping is for a reason, the not knowing is a misery for me. You're very kind to ask Flowers

Flamingogirl08 · 27/08/2021 22:37

@RicherThanYew oh I did that a few times with ovulation sticks! I'm no good in the morning 😂 Wishing you all the luck in the world for your scan xx

Happy Saturday everyone! How are you all feeling this weekend?
I had my health visitor appointment yesterday :) went really well and she thinks I must be further along, about 9 weeks. I'll be having a scan sometime in September, just waiting for the letter to confirm the date.

Bluepop09 · 28/08/2021 12:24

Is it just me who's scared of anything going wrong and constantly checking the tissue after wiping Blush I need to chill out. I called my GP to ask about the when I should see the midwife, they said to call back just before I'm 8-9 weeks to make an appointment. How's everyone feeling today?

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 28/08/2021 14:33

Ooh that’s exciting @Kat668 I’d love to skip ahead a few months weeks Grin

@Bluepop09 I’m the same. I think it’s all the cramping at the moment I feel like I’m about to get my period so I’m paranoid I’m going to find blood every time I go to the toilet. I also need to chill out but I am not a chill person at all. Was the same in both my previous pregnancies. I find this bit really hard, no bump, no movement, no symptoms yet and so long to wait until a scan!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 28/08/2021 14:36

Forgot to mention I’ve been given a date for my 12 week scan already! Not till 25th October so I have a while to wait but it is nice to have a date to look forward to. I only sent off my self referral on Wednesday evening and got a letter in the post yesterday!

Bluepop09 · 28/08/2021 15:45

Same Marmalade, I'm having lots of cramps and twinges althought it's settled slightly over the last day or so. When you self refer to the midwife team, is that with your local hospital? I never knew you could do that. Where do you have the usual midwife appointments with in that case, hospital or GP? I've only been to my GP with my previous two.

@Bluepop09 I think it depends on where you are. In my area you can self refer. There’s a link and a form to download and send back on the maternity part of the website of the hospital (where I had my 2 children) so I just did that and they get in touch with you. If it’s like it was the last 2 times I have the midwife appointments with the community midwives at my local GP surgery.

Congratulations @NinjaBreadMan!

This is literally me haha!
candyfloss18 · 28/08/2021 21:05

I'm the same to constantly checking. I think in these early days your so worried aren't you every little cramp and twinge makes you nervous

wannabeamummysobad · 28/08/2021 21:56

I'm constantly checking when I wipe. Thankfully no spotting and today at 21 DPO saw 3+ weeks on CB. Aiming to book an early scan in 2 weeks.

Honestly TTC was the least stressful part of the process- we were blessed to get our BFP first cycle. Wish I could take my mind back to my mid 20s where you thought "have unprotected sex, have a baby".

Now I'm worried if I don't experience the same symptoms as everyone on the thread then send myself into panic if I feel cramping or nausea because it's so foreign to me. Can't wait for it to be April and I can hold the my baby/babies in my arms

Flamingogirl08 · 28/08/2021 22:14

Yep I keep checking everytime I wipe and I've convinced myself something is going to go wrong. I wish I could relax and get excited

Ha I'm still the same too, checking every time! I did have a bit of blood tinged CM the other day which led me in a bit of apanic, but think it was just normal.

@wannabeamummysobad I feel the same as you about comparing symptoms. I don't have any symptoms so it's hard to believe anything is actually happening and I worry about it. I actually asked my midwife about it on Friday and she said it's completely normal, some people just don't get any.

I got my letter through for the scan yesterday, booked in on the 29th Sept! These next three weeks are gunna be soooo slow 😅
