mooloop · 15/06/2021 18:01

Will add my little update to the thread - I had my 20w scan yesterday and baby was looking and measuring all perfect and healthy Smile

And we're having a little boy! Grin so excited to meet him now, October can't come quick enough 💙 I've never been excited for winter before 😂

Thanks for the new thread! Great to hear your scan went well. I had mine yesterday too and thankfully all looked healthy, we decided not to find out the sex though. Feel like I can go ahead and start buying stuff now Smile

mooloop · 15/06/2021 20:13

Aww congratulations @Jaymar! It's amazing seeing them in so much detail isn't it Smile

newmumma2be132 · 15/06/2021 20:36

Hi all! I was on the first October 2021 thread but haven't commented in awhile.
Congratulations all on your scans and good luck to everyone awaiting there's.
I had my 20 week scan on Saturday although I'm 22+2. All looking good and found out we are expecting a baby girl. Still doesn't feel real!
XxX

Beanie14 · 15/06/2021 22:27

Aww girls congratulations on your scans! How exciting it makes it al feel real. I'm 23 weeks tomorrow. It can't come quick enough now.
I've bought so much already I need to chill out still have 4 months to go! Xx

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 15/06/2021 22:58

Ahh congratulations ladies!! Its amazing when u get to see them on your scan 💖!! I had a follow up scan yesterday as this little one is rather uncooperative whenever he's been scanned so far 🙈😅 hopefully not a signed of things to come 😂😂but I'm always amazed by what u can see ! You think being my third id be used to it by now but each time am a giddy mess💕 😅 how are we all feeling? For the most part i feel ok just tiredness and then waking around 4 5 in the morning although have a rather active 18 month old so am sure that's zapping some of my energy 🙈does anyone else have a relatively short age gap? If so what are u planning on doing re prams? I was going to get a double but Ive been thinking lately to hold off until baby is around 6 months and get a double stroller as by the time baby is here my daughter will be 22 months so will be less inclined to want to be in the pram and given the chance at the moment shed rather be out it just now, so who knows am totally undecided what to do as just before I found out I was pregnant I purchased a new pushchair travel system that came with a carrycot part from cosatto as my daughters pram was getting heavy so its a complete new unused pram 🙉🤷🏼‍♀️ so unsure whether to purchase a new one or not? I should mention we have 3 prams in total daughter first pram that we used so only 18n
months old new one and a new silver cross pop stroller so could only imagine hubby's face if i stroll in with a shiny new one 😅🤣just not sure what to do as with my first two there was a huge age gap so haven't had to experience the toddler baby stage yet ! X

oannic · 16/06/2021 06:45

Hi ladies,
I was also on the first original post but haven't posted since then.🙂
I had yesterday a scan, I'm now 22w pg and we're having a baby girl 👶 so far everything went smoothly and hope will continue this way.
Wish you all a great day!

Jl2020 · 16/06/2021 08:03

Hi ladies, glad I found you all again! So exciting all these 20 week scans 😍 can't believe we are half way through already it's gone so quick! I'll be 20 weeks Friday and got my scan next Wednesday.

Is anyone suffering with hayfever this year? I haven't had it in years but seems to be soo bad this year I just want to scratch my eyes out😩 my gp said pregnancy definitely does make it worse so that's fun lol xx

Jaymar · 16/06/2021 08:12

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 This is my first but if we want a second we will start trying soon due to my age, so I’ve been wondering the same about whether to get a pram that converts to a double. If anyone has a double that they’d recommend that would be helpful to know.

@Jl2020 I’ve got hay fever too but it’s only affecting my eyes so thankfully eye drops every morning are doing the trick. My husband is constantly sneezing though.

Jl2020 · 16/06/2021 09:43

@Jaymar my eyes are definitely the worst for me too but also constantly sneezing and have an itchy throat. I can't put eye drops in I hate them 😂 but currently using the hayfever wipes and they do relieve the itchiness for a little while thank god. I know we can take antihistamine tablets but I would rather not use them whilst pregnant really xx

Kona84 · 16/06/2021 10:15

Thanks for adding me again.

Cpr12 · 16/06/2021 10:40

Thanks for adding me again!

Congrats on all the scans everyone!! So much good news on the new thread :)

I got good news yesterday too, my cervix is still stable at 23 weeks so looks like I am actually going to be bringing this wee one home, hopefully in October, but even if a bit earlier the scary period is now passed 😍

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 I am also 23 weeks and had my fortnightly scan yesterday, could not believe how much more there was to see than the 21 week scan even! I could even see him swallowing! It blows my mind every time too!

Cpr12 · 16/06/2021 10:41

@Jl2020 @Jaymar my hay fever is out of control too. Asked my midwife on Friday and she said piriton is totally fine to use. Need to buy some! I won’t take every day but on the ones where I am sneezing like a maniac I need something haha!

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 16/06/2021 10:48

ahh that's amazing news 💖@cpr12 ! So pleased for u!! If u don't mind me asking do u have a cerclage? My mum had one with me which is why I ask, but thats amazing news lovely so happy for u🥰! And yes and its mad how much more u can see in such a short space of time! our little fellow is quite stubborn by the looks of things as he either hides his face or point blank refuses to perform and move to where they need him to!🤭😅🙈 both my girls were happy to comply but this little guy is for none of it !! Cant believe how quickly the time is passing for us all! Its absolutely flying in 😅xx

Cpr12 · 16/06/2021 12:16

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 thank you so much, really happy 😍 And I don’t, my loss was either due to infection breaking my waters or incompetent cervix. So I have been getting lots of scans and tests for both. But as my cervix has remained good sounds as though it was just infection. Still taking it easy just in case, but my hospital would try to save baby at 23 weeks so feel really good to have passed that milestone! Your poor mum, incompetent cervix is such a worry in this day and age can’t imagine it in the past where they knew even less! Bless him, maybe he is just getting you extra scans on purpose haha! And yeah it is starting to move. I am just wishing the summer away, want it to be October already! Xx

mooloop · 16/06/2021 13:43

Great news on all the scans! Can't believe we're all half way now!

@Cpr12 fantastic news and great to have passed that milestone. I'm the same, never wished for winter so much Grin

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine- I’m trying to not spend too long on it but did enjoy a lovely stroll in the park with the dog and my partner today.

I started feeling movements a couple of weeks ago but when I tried to let my partner feel he couldn’t really feel them.
Over the last week they have got stronger but still just slight when partner feels.
But last night laying in bed he was jiggling my belly to get baby to move and he felt the strongest kick.
Was so lovely to see his face when it happened.
Think I’ve got a feisty baby in there though

Jl2020 · 16/06/2021 18:42

@Cpr12 that's amazing news about your cervix, bet you feel so pleased to also have got past that miletstone :)
My gp also said loratadine is also safe to take in pregnancy for hayfever but I haven't took it yet just trying to make do without taking pills even though I am definitely suffering for it 😂

@Kona84 I was spending as much time as possible in the sun until my hay fever kicked in but now I'm trying to avoid being outside if I can 😂 that's so lovely you've felt movement and your partner has got to feel it too! I'm still waiting to feel any movement but I hope i will in the next few weeks 🥰

Juicytoot287 · 16/06/2021 20:51

Hi everyone! Glad I found this thread again.

I had our scan last week went all fine and should be llw risk. Feels very knowing I won't have another scan if things continue... a bit daunting haha.

I have been feeling movement for a while but they are quite strong kicks now, My partner felt them last week but she picks and choses when she wants to kick hard enough for him to feel lol so not consistant yet. She moves for me every day a lot which is nice. My placenta is at the back so explain how I have been so lucky

jessicakxx · 17/06/2021 20:35

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well! Has anyone else's hunger suddenly ramped up? I'm 23 weeks Saturday and the past few nights I'm sooo hungry feel like I could eat a house and the other night I woke up at 2am absolutely starving?! 😂

4 weeks until third trimester, eep where is time going!! Xx

mooloop · 17/06/2021 20:45

@jessicakxx constantly snacking over here 🙋🏼‍♀️😂

Urgh I had a bad day at work today and cried in my car afterwards 🙈 I'm not normally this emotional but work stress is at a whole new level at the moment. I'm a conveyancing solicitor and as you probably all know, the housing market is insane at the moment. I just felt like a balloon ready to pop with all the stress/anxiety/pressure today Sad I know it's not good for my little boy but don't really know what I can do to make it any better Sad

@mooloop How are you today? I hope it’s less stressful than yesterday. With my HR hat on, have you spoken to your Manager and have your work done a risk assessment yet? Keeping your stress levels down to something that feels manageable would be a normal part of a pregnancy risk assessment and actions could include reduced workload, reduced hours, more breaks throughout the day etc. It might also help if you can tell work about anything you are doing proactively to manage your stress levels e.g. mindfulness app, gentle exercise, bath etc.
