@Kona84 😂 this made me laugh about your pups 1 night stay

I am not hormonal yet, much the same as @Jl2020 I don't feel any different pregnant apart from the 16,000 wees in the night and the stomach!

My hunger the past week has definitely stepped up though, assuming as it's close to third trimester? Literally starving 24/7 xx

Jl2020 · 26/06/2021 19:40

@jessicakxx My hunger has been crazy since about 6 weeks and not calmed down, I'm constantly starving and can't get full it seems lol I ate a Chinese about 40 mins ago and could eat it all over again now lol.

One of my boobs have started leaking today aswell didn't even know that was a thing this early, had to ring my mum and ask her if it's normal 🤣

jessicakxx · 26/06/2021 20:02

@Jl2020 that's amazing 😂 I must admit I'm not getting full easy now; the other day I saw my Nan on her birthday and she'd done a little buffet, and I spent the whole time sat next to the buffet table and had a good few helpings; I'm finding I suddenly get starving so quick and start thinking I need food ASAP!!

I think it is normal for boobs to leak at this point I read, my boobs have gone absolutely ginormous, having to wear a sports bra to bed as one boob is getting caught basically under my armpit and being squeezed to death. They're also incredibly heavy - what happens post baby? I'm not breastfeeding, do they go to normal size again or stay gigantic? 😂

Jl2020 · 26/06/2021 22:13

@jessicakxx sounds like you found the best spot right next to the buffet table, I would have done the sam 😂 I know what you mean about getting starving quick, it's like you absolutely have to eat right there and then and it just comes out of nowhere.

Yeah it is normal apparently I just didn't expect it so soon! A boob under the armpit sounds painful so defo best to wear the sports bra to bed! My boobs have got bigger too but I'm not complaining as didn't have much before haha. I'm going to try and breastfeed but I'm not sure what happens after baby is born I assume they go back to normal once your milk drys up if you don't breastfeed? And if you do breastfeed they go down eventually? I have no idea tbh 🤣

Cpr12 · 27/06/2021 20:03

@jessicakxx I put cabbage in my bra after my boy was born to stop my milk coming in and easing the pain. Worked a treat but I did smell a bit like cooked cabbage for a week haha!

I ended up in hospital overnight as they got a positive test for my waters breaking, but turns out it was false and all is totally fine. But bloody hell, I was starving haha! I had no idea they would keep me in and just got two slices of toast from last night until lunch. Who can live like that 😂 pregnant people need food!!!! Thankfully my very ‘useful’ husband came in with my regular protein smoothie for me but added uncooked quinoa instead of flaxseed 😂 and don’t even get me started on the clothes he brought (we thought I would be there long haul) I asked for vests and pants mainly he took like 10 pairs of trousers and socks, no vests and a load of thongs 😂😂 Now home and off to pack my hospital bag just in case, have relied on him twice and twice he has shown he is eager and thoughtful, but also very very useless hahah!!

jessicakxx · 27/06/2021 20:13

@Cpr12 absolutely hilarious, there are worse smells than cabbage I think though! Oh gosh!!! Bet you have been so worried and stressed the past 24 hours, what was it that made you go to hospital to get checked? If you don't mind me asking

I'm so glad it was false alarm, how many weeks are you?

You are right, men try but they do tend to do odd things...THONGS??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 amazing

Juicytoot287 · 27/06/2021 20:34

@Cpr12 oh hilarious! That has made me giggle tonight and very glad all a false alarm for you x

Just thought I would pop on to say thank you for all the advice. We got a big bundle today and went with a Joie system for the car seat, honestly was such a good deal we couldnt refuse and I feel a lot better knowing we have sorted so much. It came with 2 car seats, bedside cot, baby electric swing etc. lol. Very happy but now also feel a bit too early so it is all boxed at my moms for now!

Cpr12 · 27/06/2021 20:35

@jessicakxx and trust me it was a definite improvement on last time, bless him! But no tops. I had to sit in a hospital in 21 degree heat outside in a hoodie 😂 I went in as I have been getting lots of pain in my back and then had a slight bleed. All that happened with a previous loss was a pain in my back so I just decided I was going in not risking my boy :) but while there I had a lot of fluid come out after speculum the senior doctor tested and it was positive as waters so I was sent in. And got the pleasure of a steroid shot in my ass, which is probs the most painful thing I have ever had done haha! It wasn’t too stressful, didn’t feel like last time my waters broke, think due to history they were super careful. I am 24+4 made baby promise to stay in there until 30 weeks at least so he better have listened haha!! Oh and was told this time the pain is as he is lying like in a hammock so is hurting and pulling me all round my ribs 😣

Cpr12 · 27/06/2021 20:38

@Juicytoot287 I think men just panic! I literally told him where every single item was, yet still got nothing on my list, apart from an iPad to watch the footie, priorities haha!

And fab on the travel system! I have mine at my sisters for the same reason don’t want it here just yet, but the time will fly! Xx

mooloop · 27/06/2021 20:54

Oh gosh @Cpr12 that must've been a fright! Glad all is looking ok, keep cooking in there baby! Smile

@mooloop thanks, was all good and probs more confused than anything else as that was not what I went in for haha! Was a great insight to a labour ward too. I was in a room on my own the entire time I was in last, but this time a ward so heard all the incudction stuff and tests. Feel I know a bit about labour now 😂

Juicytoot287 · 27/06/2021 21:59

@Cpr12 oh my partner would be as useful, definitely a bloke thing! Glad all is well with you. I am finding it difficult not wanting to feel a burden but you are so right! Better to be cautious. I keep feeling that baby isnt moving as much but then I remember I am 22 weeks so she probably isn't big enough yet, and then i get wholloped haha! But from now on I may just call up because it's best to be safe - I am a worrier though haha.

Cannot believe we are all over half way and starting to think of preparing anyway! I saw a thread begun for March 2022 and that really made it kick in how far we have come ladies!

Rmka · 28/06/2021 02:20

@Cpr12, I'm glad you're ok, it must have been stressful. Flowers The stuff your husband brought sounds so... useful. Wink

This weekend I had to go to triage in the middle of the night with a bleeding. The first thing they checked was baby's heartbeat. He was sleeping at the time and I couldn't feel him, so was on the verge of panic until I heard his heart. Then they did various tests which confirmed the bleeding has stopped and everything was fine. But it was a long night. And my husband had to wait outside the whole time so we could only text.

Cpr12 · 28/06/2021 11:31

@rmka oh god, glad all is fine! Did they keep you in overnight as well? Your poor hubby! What a wee shame you guys having to be apart with that stress. How you feeling now?

@Juicytoot287 I have been told over and over again they would rather you come in for nothing than not come in and it turns out to be an issue! I am definitely on some list somewhere saying this woman is a hypochondriac haha! And I know, we are getting there. Was thinking we really just have three months and then birth month! Which is going to fly in. Starting a full to do, to buy and obvs the hospital bag lists today :)

jessicakxx · 28/06/2021 13:30

@Rmka oh bless! Feel for you both I bet you were so worried :-( but glad all is well 💞

I can't believe how quick time has gone too, and yes basically 3 months left 😲

Was thinking if anyone else wanted to( to set up a WhatsApp group near the end and can stay in touch via that, as well as well all be at similar stages and my friend was saying she had the same with a group of mums that had babies at same time on WhatsApp; and there's usually always some one up the same time as you in the night for a chat!

Jl2020 · 28/06/2021 13:54

@Cpr12 that must have been so scary but I'm glad everything is ok and same to you too @Rmka glad everything is ok!

@jessicakxx I think a WhatsApp group sounds like a good idea especially for those chats in the night when your trying to stay awake feeding your baby lol xx

pixiedust21 · 28/06/2021 15:20

Gosh sorry to hear about the scary experiences ladies, so glad you and babies are all ok xx

Yes @jessicakxx a WhatsApp support group could be good especially when we are all waiting for babies to drop at the end!

Went for another scan today as baby was in an awkward position 2 weeks ago so they couldn't see his face or heart very well. They managed to check them today but baby was so wriggly and literally bouncing all over Grin quite weird to see, but reassuring especially as I am not feeling any big movements yet.

Cannot believe we are over halfway and it doesn't feel that long now in some ways! I still feel hugely unprepared haha.

Need to have a look at prams/travel systems as I genuinely haven't a clue what the best one for us would be. There are so many!!! And so much else I still feel clueless about. Oh well. One thing at a time....

whitershadeofpale · 28/06/2021 15:54

I’d be up for joining a WhatsApp group too.

We had a productive weekend and ordered our travel system and bedroom furniture. I feel like we’re well prepared but my SIL had some issues in her pregnancy which means she might be induced early and wasn’t really ready and it made me panic a bit and kicked my arse in gear!

I’ve been feeling ok but have been having some really bad backache over the last few days which seemed to stretch round to a low crampy feeling (went around lower back, lower belly and onto top of thighs) luckily it seems to have eased off a bit now and I’ve been stretching on a yoga ball and being more active which seems to help.

Kona84 · 28/06/2021 16:01

I’d be up for a whatsapp group too

Rmka · 28/06/2021 16:11

Thank you @Cpr12, @jessicakxx, @Jl2020, @pixiedust21. I feel ok now.

@Cpr12, @Juicytoot287, my hospital also says to always call or/and come in even if most of the time everything turns out to be ok.

@jesicakxx, I'd be up for a support WhatsApp group, great idea. :)

Glad lots of you are making progress with buying stuff. It's interesting to see what everyone is getting. :)

mooloop · 28/06/2021 18:08

I'd be up for a WhatsApp group too, good idea Smile

We went looking at prams at the weekend (exciting!!) but think we're going to wait until maybe late July to order it. Is that enough time?! I have no idea!

I want to get the nursery furniture ordered soon too, and to start getting it decorated in there. I know it's not really necessary since he'll be in with us for months anyway, but I just would rather do it now than when I have a baby to run around after Smile

Sounds great ladies :-) I wouldn't mind making one now and we can use it for anything really, or shall make it nearer time?

I could do with asking random questions as I go along 😁

Can always put it on mute too so don't get tons of notifications etc xx

InDreamland · 28/06/2021 19:14

Hello. Can I de-lurk and join please? Finally decided to take the plunge at 25+2 😬 this is my 4th pregnancy, I have 1 (living) DC who is 16 months old. EDD is 9th October. After 2 miscarriages before having my rainbow I've been quite anxious about this pregnancy too and struggled a fair bit to believe I could have another take home baby.

Wishing you all happy and healthy rest of the second trimester and 3rd trimester when it comes, which isn't long now!

Jl2020 · 28/06/2021 19:20

Welcome @InDreamland and congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️

@jessicakxx I would be happy to be in a group chat now, would definitely make sense for me too being a ftm I'm sure I'm only going to have more questions to ask as time goes on! I guess you could always make it now for those that want to be in it now and add people in as they want to join in time if they don't want to be in it just yet Xx

Rmka · 28/06/2021 19:26

@jessicakxx, I'd be happy to join now too :)

@InDreamland, welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope everything goes smoothly from now on. :)
