Hi @InDreamland, great to have you join us!

I would be up for joining a WhatsApp too.

Me and DH are off work for a couple of weeks just now and have been on a mission to get organised. We’ve ordered our Snuzpod, nursery furniture and travel system and have stripped wallpaper off the room that will be the nursery. I’m hoping to get bits all bought in my second trimester so I can spend my third trimester learning how to actually look after a baby Grin

InDreamland · 28/06/2021 19:33

Thank you @Jl2020 @Rmka @Jaymar

Are there any 2nd time mums here and any who will be in the 2 under 2 club? When this one is born DD with be 19 or 20 months and I'm bricking it! Wondering how I'll cope with newborn and a very active and cheeky toddler. I'll continue sending her to nursery full time but the evenings and weekends will be a challenge.

I'm glad though I have all the baby stuff still so don't need to buy anything, although this time around I might treat myself to a cordless handsfree breast pump, like a cheaper version of the Elvie.

Kona84 · 28/06/2021 19:33

I’m happy to join whatsapp group now if someone starts it

jessicakxx · 28/06/2021 19:49

Amazing :-) il start it no probs, if you send me your number and first name to my email address and then I'll add people as we go

[email protected] I've just made that specifically for this 😬

@InDreamland congratulations ❤️

X

Cpr12 · 28/06/2021 20:29

@InDreamland welcome and congrats! I had a late loss previously and know exactly how you feel. We have totally got this though. I am due the 13th so just a few days apart.

@jaymar 100% my plan too. But and do all in the next 3-4 weeks then learn what the hell I do with the baby haha!!!

@jessicakxx I would join too. Thanks for organising :) xx

InDreamland · 28/06/2021 20:51

@jessicakxx thank you

@Cpr12 I'm so sorry for your loss. Pregnancy and baby loss makes any subsequent pregnancies so full of anxiety. Are you under consultant care this time around? Extra scans or anything? I am but not for my losses, it's because DD was considered low birth weight, I had a bleed at 39+1 which led to me being induced then the labour and birth was really traumatic for both of us. I'm getting extra scans to monitor growth and have been put on 150mg daily asprin.

Cpr12 · 28/06/2021 21:01

@InDreamland so sorry for your losses too :( I am consultant let, fortnightly scans and swabs since 14 weeks. It has actually been lovely, all has been well and I have had loads of scans! Hope all is ok this time round for you! Good you are getting the extra scans! I am on aspirin too :)

InDreamland · 28/06/2021 21:40

@Cpr12 that's really good you're getting so many extra regular scans. Hopefully that helps with the reassurance that things are well this time around. Have you passed the milestone yet of your loss? Mine were both 1st trimester losses, the first was an MMC at 12 weeks. However, because of the bleed I had at 39+1 I won't relax until I've got baby in my arms at home. Thank you, hoping you (and everyone on here) have a smooth ride from now until all babies arrive safe and healthy. Have you started buying stuff yet? I left buying things for DD until very late as I was petrified of a 3rd loss and didn't want to jinx anything and also didn't want to buy things and be stuck with reminders if I did have another loss. I actually didn't order the buggy until after she was born. All I bought beforehand was bits for my hospital bag I needed, a vest and babygrow set and the car seat. My SIL then gave us loads of things like moses baskets and tonnes of newborn clothes and muslins etc. when I was 37 weeks.

InDreamland · 28/06/2021 21:46

Is anyone else getting bad calf cramps at night? I had them really bad in my last pregnancy and getting them again this time around.

Also, anyone else struggling for names? There are names I like but don't love.

I'm still being sick once or twice a week too which I never had with DD luckily. Please tell me I'm not alone.

Kona84 · 28/06/2021 22:34

@InDreamland thankfully no calf cramps for me.
I struggled with them for years due to shin splints and do not want to be in that pain again.
I’ve been drinking loads of water and doing foot stretches - pointing toes to floor etc to prevent calf cramps.

Names I have a list of both boys and girls names picked out but keep adding to it daily. Once a week we go back through the list and remove ones that we no longer like.
I have a strong like for Seth. And my partner doesn’t mind it so I think if we have a boy we will go with that.
For a girl we have a list of names but no favourites yet

Help23 · 29/06/2021 00:43

Hi! I'm 22 weeks today and 20 week scan looked fine but still felt nothing, no movement. Anyone else having the same issue?

Jl2020 · 29/06/2021 08:00

@InDreamland I wake up in the night with calf
Cramps occasionally but not too often! I wake up more with hip and lower back pain though which is very uncomfortable too.
Me and my partner are really struggling to agree on names, he has his heart set on one name but I'm just not 100% sure on it, I loved it and now I'm realising it's becoming more and more common which kind of puts me off.

@Help23 I'm 21+4 and only started feeling movements in the last week or so but my midwife did say it can be normal to not feel anything up until 24 weeks as baby is still really quite small and has a lot of space so I would try not to worry, especially if your 20 week scan went well :)

Peacefulspirit · 29/06/2021 08:02

Hey, I’ve been a bit of a lurker but have been following all the journeys so far. I’m 25+3 with baby #5 (surprise!!) we’re having a little girl. It hasn’t been the easiest few months, emotionally, but we’re getting there. Look forward to joining in more x

Peacefulspirit · 29/06/2021 09:31

Oh also! Does anyone else get REALLY uncomfortable when they drive? I’m massive for my gestation, already out on 3 stone (horrendous) but I feel so uncomfortable when I drive. Get almost Braxton Hicks type tightening and feel all squashed and crappy!

jessicakxx · 29/06/2021 09:52

@Peacefulspirit congratulations 💓 ok driving at the moment but uncomfortable at my work from home desk, nearly chucked it outside yesterday as I was so uncomfortable 😵‍💫

Peacefulspirit · 29/06/2021 12:21

You have my sympathy! I think because I don’t have a desk job (though I’m on my feet a lot) I tend not to get too squashed other than driving. It must be massively uncomfortable/frustrating!

Kona84 · 29/06/2021 14:49

I have had to tilt my seat back slightly in the car. I am worried about driving later in pregnancy as I have short legs and the space between me and the steering wheel is already quite small.
My partner can’t drive so soon we might not be able to use the car

Rmka · 29/06/2021 15:34

We don't have a car (we live in a city so don't need it). When I work from home I sometimes sit on a fitness ball. I find it helps with hip and back pain.

The car reminds me that I don't know how we're going to take the baby back home from the hospital. By taxi I guess, but are there baby car seats that fit into any car? Sorry if it's a silly question 😅

mooloop · 29/06/2021 18:17

Hey guys! Welcome to the new posters Smile

I'm ok driving at the moment but have been trying to remember to move the seatbelt across my belly to under the bump since that's what's recommended.

Anybody else sweltering in this heat?! 🥵

OP posts:
Kona84 · 29/06/2021 20:39

@Rmka not a silly question I worry how I am going to get to hospital as I’m only one that drives.
But the car seat I got just fastens in with seatbelt so will fit any car with a back seat and seatbelt.

Kona84 · 29/06/2021 20:41

@mooloop I was looking into devices that pull the lap part of the belt down to your thighs.

Cpr12 · 29/06/2021 20:51

@Help23 welcome and congrats! I don’t think it is unusual to not be feeling anything yet. They say it can be up to 24 weeks. If you are really worried though, maybe give the midwife a call.

@Peacefulspirit welcome and congrats on the surprise!!

I got a bump belt and it is really good, only cost £15 and keeps the belt off my belly. So far I am not having an issue driving, eating however is getting hard haha!

Rmka · 29/06/2021 21:00

@Kona84, thanks, I'll look for a seat like that. Smile
I told my husband he's responsible for sorting out transportation as I'll be busy with labour Wink

emmex · 30/06/2021 14:51

Hi all.

New to this forum. First time preggers - due end of Oct 2021. Very excited but also nervous as we have had 2 MC’s previously Sad

20 wk anomaly scan start of June showed all is well but now between midwife appts and needing a bit of extra support (lack of local resource groups where I am not helped by the ongoing Covid stuff). We live in NW Scotland so while it’s been lovely not to be in city during pandemic I guess I am also worried that the lack of engagement with others mum’s to be will be quite isolating.

A friend mentioned she had used this forum before and it was great support so just thought I would reach out!

jessicakxx · 30/06/2021 15:02

@emmex so sorry to hear about your previous losses 💙

congratulations on your pregnancy and brilliant news re 20 week scan! Hope your pregnancy so far has gone well for you xxx
