@Jelliestogether just looked at that and it looks amazing! Thanks for suggesting, the stand will be great too especially after c-sec! X

Jelliestogether · 23/06/2021 15:33

@jessicakxx I never had the stand, but I can definitely see how it would be beneficial. We used it in the kitchen on the side or sat it in the kitchen sink initially

jessicakxx · 23/06/2021 15:36

@Jelliestogether brilliant idea! Thank you xx

Jl2020 · 23/06/2021 15:55

@jessicakxx I know, there is so much to think about and constantly finding out about new things all the time from different people! Having a bouncy chair is definitely a good idea and I'm also going to get a little play mat aswell I think.
I'm pretty sure I had sink baths as a baby too, never done me any harm 🤣 xx

@Jelliestogether thankyou for the recommendation, I did see those and thought they looked quite good too and even better if they fit in them for quite a while! Xx

Found this thread again 😊 very nice reading all this seeing the good news from scans etc. I had my scan the day the part 2 thread was closed! A little monkey child in there, a boy, hiding in cephalic presentation , wouldn't cooperate so two sonographers were needed to see all they needed to and one got a good strong kick during it 🤣. All is well and we are so excited!

In the last 2 weeks we have acquired a travel system that was on sale, (maxi cosi zelia2) a snuzpod also on sale and with a gift voucher and a second hand never used cot from a friend! The mother in law went bananas shopping for baby things as soon as the scan was done and all good, what a gem. Got a baby bjorn and bottle steriliser (which I'll probably never use) second hand from family.. and there's hopefully other hand me downs coming. We had to buy the big things and I personally don't have the will to go to shops so did a lot of research online for the travel system instead. It's a minefield! My feeling is to get the essentials now and decide on the rest later like if we feel we need the moses basket downstairs instead of lifting out the snuzpod bassinet. I'd to avoid getting things that are just not needed.. maybe this is wishful thinking 🤔

I'm also struggling with high stress and pressure in work, can't remember who said it but I feel you. I'm resigned to missing deadlines and letting people freak out and get over it or give me extra resources to get things over the line! 🙃 some things in life are so much more important, work for me at thr moment really is bottom of the pile.

jessicakxx · 24/06/2021 08:37

@rtz22 glad all went well with your scan in the end :-) sounds like you've done brilliant with your big items! We're getting a snuzpod too; I think they look really sweet as well as having lots of amazing reviews.

One thing I wanted to ask everyone, im a ftm so I really am just trying to prepare as much as possible. For night time feeds and wake ups, I was going to have a wicker chair in our dressing room next door ( where baby changing unit will also be ) and go downstairs with baby in arms, make bottle and come back up stairs to the dressing room, but was going to keep it all really calm and dim (use nightlights) and pop my headphones in on my iPad so it's quiet, thinking that when I pop the baby back in the snuzpod he will still be tired and be aware it's nighttime.

My friend said she just used to take them downstairs and turn the light on and put the tv on and wake up properly.

What is everyone thinking of doing? Sorry if this is a silly question xx

Cpr12 · 24/06/2021 09:04

@rtz22 glad you found us again and congrats!!! You have a lot sorted!! I am totally with you on only getting what I need. My problem is trying to reign my mum in. Despite being told not to buy she has bought loads already 🤦‍♀️

@jessicakxx I think I will try best to go to a quiet room and not turn anything on. Screens just ruin your sleep so will see if I can just sit for a bit and then get back off to sleep. But who knows, never had a baby to feed in the middle of the night before haha!

Has anyone had cramp like pains in their lower front tummy? I have been getting them on and off and not sure if I am just being paranoid! It is just hard to know what is normal as they say you should not get any cramps some places but say it is normal in others!

mooloop · 24/06/2021 19:16

@rtz22 congrats on the scan! Smile I'm having a little boy too and we're so excited Grin it was me with the work stress, it's still awful but I'm trying to remember it's not life or death and I'm only human, doing my best. After this month end it should hopefully calm down a bit until another peak in September.

I spoke to my boss today briefly about wfh from 28 weeks, which means only 6 weeks left in the office, followed by 10 weeks wfh before I'm planning to finish Shock seems short putting it like that!

I also have my eye on the snuzpod, not sure when to order it! I need to order the nursery furniture and look at decorating the nursery too still.

@Cpr12 I think that about keeping it dark too. Haven't had lower cramps but had bad tummy cramps a week or so ago, like terrible. I think it's easy to worry about everything that we feel. Like I feel the past few days that my baby isn't kicking me as hard as he was, but the places I was feeling the kicks I don't feel now he's kicking or punching me more central so I'm thinking he's just moved position and I'm not letting myself get too worried as I'm still feeling him throughout the day and night. It's so scary just worrying about everything xx

Cpr12 · 24/06/2021 20:44

@jessicakxx yup! Everything is a worry. I keep having less movement from my wee man. I get all worried then he starts being normal again the next day. So much stress haha!! I hope the painful cramps have stopped now!!

pixiedust21 · 24/06/2021 22:03

Ahh I've been looking for this thread - was wondering why I couldn't post on the other one! Grin

Hope everyone is doing well??

I am 21 weeks now and feel like baby bump has just popped! I'm overweight so knew it might it take a while to show but was starting to feel a bit down that I just looked really fat. I feel like something has popped overnight!!!

This is baby right? I'm sure my belly didn't look like this before and I'm big but not that big 😂 pokes it

mooloop · 24/06/2021 22:13

Aww defo baby @pixiedust21! Glad you found us again Smile

Baby boy is so much more active this week (21+5 today), feel like my bump has popped so much too, it's crazy imagining how much bigger we're all gonna be at the end! 🙈

I’m the same @pixiedust21, been asking my husband every week if I look pregnant instead of beer belly yet. I’m 21+5 and have definitely noticed a difference the past week or so.

pixiedust21 · 24/06/2021 22:56

@Jaymar aww goodness yes definitely baby rather than beer there! Grin

I'm so shocked by how quickly it seems to have developed. I'm so excited it's unbelievable. I'm obsessed with it. Smile

jessicakxx · 25/06/2021 07:09

@Jaymar @pixiedust21 lovely bumps! Looking great xxx

jessicakxx · 25/06/2021 07:23

Will try and attach pic below of bump, I am 24 weeks tomorrow (mental).

Genuinely feel like I'm going to pop and have some rather red stretch marks on both sides of hips and butt, although developed these at 8 weeks! Xx

Love seeing other bumps 😍

pixiedust21 · 25/06/2021 10:43

Aw I'm loving the bumps! Thanks for sharing ladies!

I've woken up thinking did I just make it up and is it actually just my stomach Grin it definitely does not look as bump-like without leggings on hah.

I knew there was a baby in there before (obviously!) but it makes it feel a lot more real. :)

mooloop · 25/06/2021 15:06

Awwww loving these bump pics, so cute! 🥰

I feel my bump keeps going up and down in size. One day feels massive and can’t bend over the next day feels like I’ve just had a big lunch. 23+ 5

rtz22 · 25/06/2021 21:56

Thank you guys! All these bumps are so lovely! 👏. I'm already quite sticky outy at 23+3... huge by October I assume 😬

Anyone else being taken for a wild ride with emotions lately? I find myself feeling teary for no clear reason.. must say its throwing me a bit. The poor sleep from hay fever probably making me teary like a small child at this stage 😏 it's a rollercoaster !

Kona84 · 25/06/2021 22:04

I cried dropping my dog off for his first kennel stay the other day- he only stayed one night.

Cpr12 · 26/06/2021 09:48

I cried at the national anthem of Scotland’s first game. Like proper cried. I haven’t been emotional at all but that was just too much for me 😂😂😂

Lovely seeing all the bumps. I am bloody massive. People are now seeing from the front that I am pregnant 😳

whitershadeofpale · 26/06/2021 10:12

I absolutely sobbed the other day watching Andre, the 90s film about a rescued seal 😳

Jl2020 · 26/06/2021 11:26

Aww you all have the cutest bumps, love seeing them!
I'm 21 weeks and still waiting for mine 😂 I definitely look like iv put a bit of weight on but I don't look pregnant.

My emotions and hormones are no different
I still don't feel any different being pregnant at all. I really feel like a fraud compared to how other people have felt and do still feel in pregnancy 😂
