Hi everyone, following up from our second thread here.

We’re just about through morning sickness and odd early pregnancy symptoms… what will the second trimester bring?

@mrssunshinexxx thank you! 😊 It's definitely been an emotional rollercoaster & I still have a little voice in the back of my head saying it will never happen but I'm feeling overwhelmingly positive & starting to buy little things.

@sparklyblue81 good luck for your scan today!

To everyone with SPD, I feel your pain literally! Thankfully my mw has referred my for physio so hoping that will help somewhat.

JackJack84 · 06/07/2021 10:19

@Katy4321 we have been so lucky in that people have bought or given us almost everything we need. MIL has gone baby mad & has a cot bed, Moses basket, bath, blankets, clothes & toys. SIL has given us a next to me crib & clothes. DM has bought the pram & clothes, muslins & a bouncer. Someone from DP's work is giving us a high chair & I have 2 friends who have had baby girls in the last year so if we have a girl they've said they have tons of clothes for us!

sparklyblue81 · 06/07/2021 11:22

Aw lovely that everyone’s scans have gone well. Our bub is all good, nice & active - measurements all average & everything present & correct which is a big relief 😊 And it’s a boy 💙

I’ve got pram/ cot/ car seat, & loads of other bits left from my older ones
(I have two boys & a girl) & my sister has given me quite a lot too - at least I can sort out & sell/gift the girly stuff now because I am drowning a bit in bags of baby clothes 🤣 All the newborn & a lot of the 0-3 stuff is neutral but I have clothes up to age 3-4 of my daughters I can now shift to make some space 🤣 I just need to buy some more cosy/winter things as all my others have been summer babies.

Exciting times guys- we can get down to picking names & redecorating bedrooms now we know what we’re having. Baby was going to share with either my son or daughter & all the kids are swapping round to make space once my DH goes back to the office in a couple of weeks & we can decorate his “office”!

It is happening lady, believe it ❤️ @JackJack84

Knock123 · 06/07/2021 12:57

Good luck @sparklyblue81

@Katy4321I've bought enough baby clothes to get us through the first month and bought nothing else yet.
I've still not told many people I'm pregnant so I think that's contributed to my inability to plan as I still feel like it's not real! Spoke to my colleague who used to do safety testing at Which about car seats today so I am trying but still keep burying my head in the sand and thinking I'll sort it later!!

@AlackAlasAlackaday that's amazing you have been given so much stuff, people are so kind aren't they!

JackJack84 · 06/07/2021 16:44

Baby seems determined to make me believe it too, the kicks are so hard today! As lovely as it is it's making me feel quite sick 😂
Lizlou85 · 06/07/2021 21:19

We don't have our 20 week scan until Friday. It's beginning to feel more real now. DH felt the kicks and movements for the first time tonight.
So far we have a next 2 me cot, a car seat and a couple of outfits I wanted but refused to pay full price for so got in a half price sale. On a clothes ban until August now when we're both off so going to a larger centre to pick stuff out together.

ScotsMumOf4 · 07/07/2021 08:58

Feeling quite disheartened today. Phone call woke me up to say my much needed physio appointment wasn't going ahead today and I'll need to wait on a rescheduled appointment 😰 was in so much pain yesterday morning i couldn't walk and I'm only 19+6 🤯
On a plus note I think I'm not going to be sick this morning 😅

Hannah94L · 09/07/2021 11:06

Feeling a bit deflated after my scan yesterday. I’ve been referred for an MRI on Monday as the consultant noticed a borderline concern of fluid on the brain of one of our triplets. I’m trying not to worry but finding it hard. Has anyone had an MRI done or had similar at their scans?

Knock123 · 09/07/2021 11:34

Oh no what a worry @Hannah94L I've not experienced anything similar but of course you're feeling worried! You need to try your best to just focus on them being extra cautious rather than it being a problem, a lot of things they see on scans now they'd never have seen when our mums were pregnant with us.
Best thing to do is see what you can do this weekend to keep busy, seeing people, shopping, bit of a pamper sesh. You probably won't feel better until after the MRI but spending the whole weekend googling and obsessing over won't make you feel any better x

mrssunshinexxx · 09/07/2021 12:33

Really sorry to hear that @Hannah94L of course you will be worried ❤️ not the same but we had an abnormality picked up at my daughters anomaly scan last year they didn't know whether it was an ovarian cyst or that she only had one kidney it transpires she only has one kidney it was prettt stressful at the time x

sparklyblue81 · 10/07/2021 15:52

Oh @Hannah94L that’s bound to be worrying but I’m sure they would refer for a second opinion & clearer image just to be on the safe side. Hope you get positive news on Monday. Sending you lots of positive vibes x

AlackAlasAlackaday · 11/07/2021 21:51

hannah thinking of you for tomorrow x

happygolucky20 · 11/07/2021 22:04

Thinking of you tomorrow @Hannah94L. Please let us know how it goes xx

We had a concerned scan at 10 weeks and it turned out to be nothing. We also have to go back for a repeat 20 week scan on Tuesday with a consultant as there was some concern over babies feet and possibility of clubbed - hoping this will turn into nothing too! This pregnancy journey is real interesting!

Knock123 · 13/07/2021 11:18

@Hannah94L hope your MRI went OK? X

Hannah94L · 13/07/2021 11:23

Hi all,

Thanks for the messages. MRI went ok yesterday. We are now waiting for the results but I’m taking a positive that all three babies were very active during it and moved about a lot.

Roopers · 13/07/2021 19:39

I'm so pleased to hear it went well and all 3 babies were very wiggly! Fingers crossed to you for the results - hope the don't make you wait too long.

Can I ask everyone about names. I'm 21 weeks and haven't even thought about it. We know we are having a boy 💙 and other than that.....where do you start?

Have you already picked a list of names? Are you set on one? Are you naming baby after a sibling or parent? Not asking for any one to divulge their specific name choices just a help along the way as there is so much choice!!

JackJack84 · 13/07/2021 20:15

@Hannah94L glad your MRI went ok, fingers crossed for a good result for you!

@Roopers I've got one girls name which I've had for about 20 years but we can't decide/agree on a boys name! We're not finding out what we're having, DP says we should just wait until they birth & see what they look like 😁

mrssunshinexxx · 13/07/2021 20:37

@Roopers with my daughter who was born last year I knew what her name was before I was even pregnant and luckily husband agreed and liked it to there was never another contender she has my mums middle name as she died 6 weeks before I had my daughter. This time I have a list of 5 girls names I've accumulated and saved in my notes I have one fave but my husband isn't as keen I'm not worrying too much yet

Knock123 · 13/07/2021 20:51

@Roopers we don't know what we're having so have picked two girls names and two boys names but we have a strong preference for one of each but will make the final decision when the baby is here. Neither of us have strong feelings about family names or have any special names to pass along so we're just doing first name and surname, no middle names. We went for traditional but not popular names (not in top 100) but then you never know if all of a sudden those names will be the popular ones. Luckily we have a classic surname that goes with everything! I've been trying to imagine shouting their name up the stairs to see if I like it 😂

Knock123 · 13/07/2021 20:53

@JackJack84 glad someone else is having a surprise!! All my pregnant friends at the moment have found out and I'm the only one who didn't. Have you had any strong gut feelings about the sex??

JackJack84 · 13/07/2021 21:05

@Knock123 I'm leaning towards boy but I think that's only because a lot of people have guessed boy from my scan pics. My Mam thinks it's a boy cos it had really long legs on the 16 week scan 😂

Lizlou85 · 13/07/2021 22:04

We’re not finding out gender until little one is here. Thankfully it listened to me and all during our 20week scan it’s legs were crossed 😂.
We have a few names but are waiting to see what names suits once they are here. Have had a couple of disagreements but in shortlisting we have used the following.... does it work with our surname, how does it sound if they are a child, teenager, adult and then adding aunt or uncle in hope it will need it. Just because something sounds cute on a newborn what will it sound like being introduced as an adult.

Katy4321 · 13/07/2021 22:07

@hannah94L that sounds very promising with the scan an lovely they were all moving about a lot.

It sounds like quite a lot a few people here have quite a bit of stuff already. I have been offered a few things, but not collected them yet. Started to think about things like car seats etc

@roopers name DP quietly put a list of names together ages ago, after we had the Nipt done and found out we are having a daughter. They were all lovely but one stood out to me, so at least for now that's our provisional name, but want to meet her before fully deciding.

Roopers · 14/07/2021 15:41

Thanks everyone! It's lovely to hear how everyone is working out names for their new and expanding families.

We've got a tricky surname so that'll rule out quite a few lovely names (and some fairly bog standard boring ones thankfully).

We chatted it through last night after I posted here and we have decided that a traditional route is likely the way we will go. We have decided to go for 4 names (🤦🏻‍♀️ I know I know) - first and middle name chosen by us and then second middle name will be after my late father and that's non-negotiable on my part. Surname is a given so we aren't carrying anything through from husband's family as they have that 🤣

It's working out the best combination of names that go with a surname and there are so many variables. I totally agree with the future proofing of names - no one is a cutsie-pie forever (unfortunately!!).
