Hi everyone, following up from our second thread here.

We’re just about through morning sickness and odd early pregnancy symptoms… what will the second trimester bring?

Lovely news @mrssunshinexxx!

Knock123 · 16/06/2021 19:51

Hello @ElmtreeMama, I recognise you from the PAL thread, congrats on hitting 17 weeks!
Personally I'm loving the heat, wish it would stay for longer!

ElmtreeMama · 16/06/2021 19:54

I was definitely loving it at first but just feel a sweaty mess now 😅

AlackAlasAlackaday · 16/06/2021 21:33

Hows everyone coping with heat?

It's finally broken here today, with a rain storm just now. Otherwise my answer is "Badly!". I ended up buying a neck fan off Amazon Confused.

Kimblebee19 · 17/06/2021 07:32

@Roopers it was right with DS - heartbeat sounded like a train! But this one sounded like both too @ 16 weeks appt (not that I'm finding out anyway!)

Becky199327 · 17/06/2021 15:49

Hi all,

Thought I'd join and say hello as finally feel comfortable. I'm due on the 6th November and had my 20 week scan this morning. Baby is healthy and a little boy so my fiance and I are over the moon 💙 especially since we conceived straight after a miscarriage.

Hope everyone is doing well :) x

AlackAlasAlackaday · 17/06/2021 16:01

Congratulations @Becky199327!!!

CakeIsTheAnswer123 · 18/06/2021 07:49

Hello, would love to join as I'm now 18+4 with my rainbow result of 6th ivf. Still can't quite believe it but we've bought the carseat so it must be real! Lovely to meet you all!

I had Pfizer first jab 3 weeks ago and booked second - was scared by possible implications for bubs of catching actual covid in 3rd trimester, especially with lockdown ending before then. It's was such a hard decision though! Xx

Kitttycatt · 18/06/2021 12:21

Welcome @Becky199327 & @CakeIsTheAnswer123 .

I had ivf too @CakeIsTheAnswer123 I'm currently 19+3, my scan was meant to be on Monday but we were in Portugal so now have to self isolate Confused so I've had to push it back a week. Can't wait though.

Katy4321 · 18/06/2021 17:30

@Becky199327 welcome and lovely news about your son

@Kitttycatt and @CakeIsTheAnswer123 welcome too - can't imagine what it is like to go though IVF

@mrssunshinexxx lovely news

All best to everyone having their scans soon. Mine is in just over a week and a bit, the wait feels long.

mrssunshinexxx · 18/06/2021 20:14

@Kitttycatt @CakeIsTheAnswer123 what lovely news !

CakeIsTheAnswer123 · 18/06/2021 20:19

@Kitttycatt Thank you, same to you! I'm terrible at waiting for scans, had them weekly from 6 to 14 weeks. Haven't had one for ages now and my big anomaly one is on Tuesday. Can't wait!! Xx

pineapple2021 · 18/06/2021 21:27

Had my covid jab today..... nervous but think it was the right decision for me!!

Knock123 · 21/06/2021 17:30

Hey ladies how is everyone doing? I'm 20+5 today and just had my scan, thankfully all OK which is a huge relief after recurrent miscarriages. Baby was all curled into a ball and didn't want to move so took about 45 mins in total but the sonograoher was amazing and talked me through everything. We didn't find out the sex as we're excited for a surprise. Also good to see a healthy baby after having the covid jab around 4 weeks ago! Hope everyone is doing well

AlackAlasAlackaday · 21/06/2021 17:37

knock that’s lovely news, it can feel like bloody years between scans can’t it??

All ok here. We found out sexes here (one of each) and I’ve hauled all of DD’s baby clothes out of storage and started washing and packing. Bit early but you never know!

Knock123 · 21/06/2021 17:56

It does, I am so glad it's out of the way!
Amazing having one of each!! I guess you won't have quite as much time to prep as the rest of us as I assume you won't be going full term? How is your DD feeling about her two new siblings??

I can't seem to mentally connect with the fact I'm having a baby and can't bring myself to buy anything! I feel like I'm going to be so unprepared because I have no idea where to start, every time I think about it, it feels too overwhelming and I stop haha

AlackAlasAlackaday · 21/06/2021 18:19

Definitely not full term (it’ll be an induction or section by 37 weeks if I understand correctly) but sometimes twins turn up at 30/31/32 weeks which feels really scary. Knowing me I’ll end up sorting everything and then just hanging around for another month Grin.

DD is delighted but a bit like you I’m battling to imagine actually coming home with two babies, feel a bit of a mental disconnect.

Tbh these days you could buy everything you need in early labour off Amazon so your approach has something to recommend it!

I just don't feel like it's sunk in or that I believe I'm having another girl o guess I feel like the sonographer just wasn't as definite as the one with my daughter last year

Lizlou85 · 21/06/2021 20:59

Knock123 Im 18weeks and can’t bring myself to buy anything. Hubby brought a next to you style cot yesterday and is looking at prams and bits but I’m like let’s wait until September/ October. We have a change mat and an outfit that others have brought us.
Knock123 · 21/06/2021 21:43

@Lizlou85 I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, that makes me feel better about my inaction haha!
My partner is really into gadgets and wants a Snoo so I think we'll probably get that soonish as it's an expensive purchase, and need to think about a car seat and push chair but feel they're big to store so can be bought last minute, right?!
I bought a really unpractical baby grow from White Company when we had the 12 week scan and my mum has been allowed to start knitting but that's literally as far as we've got!

@AlackAlasAlackaday yes my tactic is deffo buy on demand. We live near a supermarket, MIL is down the road so we can always send her out to get stuff and of course have good old Prime to save the day!

Knock123 · 21/06/2021 21:46

@mrssunshinexxx ooh really, if you really wanted to double check you could always pay for another scan? You do hear of it being wrong sometimes but I'm sure the sonographer was pretty confident otherwise they'd have said they werent sure rather than say girl
