Hi everyone, following up from our second thread here.

We’re just about through morning sickness and odd early pregnancy symptoms… what will the second trimester bring?

OP posts:

Congratulations to those of you having babies already!! So exciting.

@Luckytattie I've been doing the same thing. I seem to wake up slightly and quickly flex my foot in the opposite direction. The only problem is I'm scared to go back to sleep in case it happens again, so it's keeping me awake for hours.

@Lizlou85 I woke up screaming and my boyfriend got a bit of a fright, until I started yelling 'push my foot!'

@Katy4321 Thanks, I too had a pain for a day or two after cramps.

Luckytattie · 23/10/2021 12:22

@Lizlou85 no hiccups at all here. Wonder why that's happening 🤔

@Heart4 yes I know what you mean...it's risky to get the movement wrong 🤣

I'm suffering pregnancy insomnia now. Waking around 4am and can't sleep until like 8am again.

Also a new thing for me is sweating/smelly more. I literally just had a shower and I can already smell myself :(

Yogity · 24/10/2021 10:47

Said I was just gonna tough it out, but got prescribed omeprazole on Friday and oh my, the difference has been insane. No longer feeling like I'm going to breath fire when I speak and I've actually been able to get to sleep quicker without reflux there to ruin my happiness

Posting to say don't be a martyr like I was!

sparklyblue81 · 25/10/2021 16:51

Congratulations @Knock123 😍 Hope you jaundice is improving & you are home by now x

I’m struggling with acid reflux too, not helped by having to eat lots of protein & fat with gestational diabetes. I’ve been having milk with supper too so will try dropping that & see if it helps.

I had my growth scan Friday & all good as far as anyone can tell. Induction booked for the 8th so only 2 weeks left!! Can’t belief it 😬 Getting v nervous about the birth now 🙈

Yogity · 25/10/2021 17:30

@sparklyblue81 ah so exciting that you've got your induction date! Bambino will be here before you know it. 9th Nov is my due date so it is a bit of a shock to the system reading you say 8th is in 2 week! Confused

Vintique · 25/10/2021 23:30

Good to hear you’re feeling better @Yogity! @sparklyblue81 I just got my c-section date too, earlier than expected at Nov 15th, so 3 weeks to go here… second growth scan tomorrow…

Heart4 · 26/10/2021 14:53

@sparklyblue81 I have gestational diabetes too. Mine is diet controlled, so I know what you mean about all the fat and protein! I'm worried about the occasional spike to 8, which happens about twice a week. Also massively worried about what damage I may have done before it got picked up (they took my blood after the glucose drink but forgot to test it!). Baby measured fine though and consultant in fetal medicine said no sign of glucose exposure.

I find milk before bed helps reduce my acid, but some people find it makes it worse. Also, green vegetables really help me. I guess it's all trial and error.

marykitty · 26/10/2021 15:13

Today I am 39+1 and I am going mental Grin DS1 is full of energy and I just want to lay down the whole time.

How are you ladies doing?

Lizlou85 · 26/10/2021 19:36

Just seen this in another site. Stages of dilation in pumpkin form.

Lizlou85 · 27/10/2021 15:44

Have my 36 week check up today so asked about the hiccups. Midwife said its un common but mostly likely due to little one kicking my diaphragm!
The midwife has asked to do my 38 week check up at my house due to clinic being full, is this normal or a covert why to check house is OK for baby?

JackJack84 · 27/10/2021 16:24

Had my 36 week growth scan & consultant appointment today, baby is estimated at 7lbs 5oz on the 93rd centile. I've also been given my induction date for the 9th November when I'll be 38 weeks, I'm so excited/nervous!

Roopers · 27/10/2021 16:30

Can anyone recommend some good vanilla watching or listening for Mat leave??

I've been told to rest due to high BP and my Mat leave starts on Friday so I'm getting some good podcasts stored up but need some Netflix watching?

I normally like to keep myself very busy so had cleaning / painting etc scheduled for my few weeks before baby arrives but that has now been thrown out by the Dr!

Strict rest with legs raised to try and keep pre-eclampsia at bay!
Any recommends welcome. 🙂

Heart4 · 29/10/2021 16:19

Is anyone else having period pains? I'm 37 weeks and for the last 2 days I have an ache in my lower abdomen. No contractions or bleeding, just a constant dull ache.

Baby is still moving around as normal. Just wondering if this is a pre-curser to labour? I can't get through to my midwife line. Are any of you feeling the same?

Floryella · 29/10/2021 16:38

@Heart4 I had that for a few days and then it went away.

Since then I've been getting what I think is called 'lightning crotch'. As pleasant as it sounds!

Apparently signs that the body is getting ready for labour but not the start of labour itself. Probably worth telling the midwife though if you manage to get through

SweetSunflowerBoo · 30/10/2021 00:22

Bit weird so wondering if anyone else is experiencing it...
36+5 (baby is engaged)
And I've noticed this the past few days but ESPECIALLY tonight as I'm sat having a midnight snack of marmite on toast...

I can HEAR my baby in my tummy!!

I can literally hear him sloshing about in the amniotic fluid and hear him move and it's LOUD! It's creeping me out but I'm also SO fascinated by it!! I've not seen anyone else mention it.
Even the tiniest movements I can hear- but the big ones...!!! WOW

Anyone else had this??
Am I just weird? Shock

Yogity · 30/10/2021 01:04

I don't think my baby is engaged yet (38+3). It hasn't been mentioned at any of my appointments anyway. Wondering if you might have some insight on how you are able to tell, aside from being told at appointments? A friend said to her it feels like a little arm might fall out at any moment. Or a tampon that has slipped down. I definitely don't feel like that yet.
Not sure if baby might be trying to get into position. I do get times where her little hips poke out so far it feels like we might get a re-enactment of that scene from Alien. Wink

@SweetSunflowerBoo ah I can't hear my baby but recall my friend when my friend was expecting earlier this year we could hear a crackling type sound. Was so bizarre!

@Heart4 ah no period pains fir me but sounds very promising! Lots of ladies report that in tbe run up to labour! I've had some dull back ache which I didn't have before but equally baby is growing really fast at this stage so hard to say if it means anything. I swear the symptom spotting in late pregnancy is 10x worse than when TTC

@jackjack84 ah so exciting to have your induction date! The countdown is truly on. That's my due date! You will do brilliantly and are so close to meeting your little one

@marykitty same! 38+3 and getting so impatient. My friend who was due 3 days after me had her baby last week and since then I have lost all patience. The last days draggggg

@Roopers I've been rewatching the classics - Friends, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Seinfeld etc while doing some cross stitching. Trying to get that oxytocin flowing! S3 of You was recently put up on Netflix as well!

SweetSunflowerBoo · 30/10/2021 01:20

@Yogity ahh I thought I was going mad so I'm glad someone has experienced it even if it's your friend lol.
I can feel where baby is- feet in my ribs and hiccups in my pelvis. And then feeling which way the hiccup is aiming

I've been able to tell for a good few weeks exactly how he's laying and which way he is facing. Poke the side of my belly and out pop a foot Grin

SileM12 · 30/10/2021 10:22

Bit late to the game! Just sent a request to join the Facebook group! Due 22nd November!

JackJack84 · 30/10/2021 11:35

@Yogity thank you 😊 I can't wait!

Hope your little one makes an appearance soon!! x x

Lizlou85 · 31/10/2021 11:29

Weve been in hospital this morning due to nor feeling movements since 9pm last night. Hadnt been hooked up to the monitor for more than 5mins and had massive kicks. They have said I'll now be consultant lead until the end as 2nd time in for reduced movements.

We are waiting on a Dr to come and talk to us before we go home but I've been told I'll have to come back for a scan later this week.

Yogity · 31/10/2021 12:52

@Lizlou85 so glad LO started moving for you. How frightening! I feel like I'm constantly on the look out for reduced movement

Heart4 · 31/10/2021 13:33

@Lizlou85
Glad baby started moving. Scary when that happens. Mine seems to sleep for ages and not wake up when I press her, but then she'll wake up when she feels like it and spend hours squirming around.

I've been hit by a wall of total exhaustion very suddenly yesterday and today. I'm sleeping 9 hours a night and having a nap in the day!

Lizlou85 · 31/10/2021 17:36

Thank you @Heart4 and @Yogity.

We've found before an ice cold drinks, switching from side to back then back to side or placing the tablet on little one gets them moving but not today. This afternoon it hasn't stopped fidgeting.

We have a scanned booked in for Monday morning

Lizlou85 · 01/11/2021 09:24

Who woke up this. Morning and thought..... ITS DUE DATE MONTH?

SweetSunflowerBoo · 01/11/2021 12:48

@Lizlou85 me!- I was unrealistically hoping I'd wake up and feel different or was hoping to have things start happening today!
Ugh... nothing
