Hi everyone, following up from our second thread here.

We’re just about through morning sickness and odd early pregnancy symptoms… what will the second trimester bring?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
@Knock123 thank you
That makes so much more sense to me now!!

Usually my appointments are later in the day so I hadn't actually eaten anything before my appointment today
And yesterday I threw up everything but 1 meal so I haven't eaten much the last few days.

I'm currently sat binge watching greys anatomy to take my mind off things
Hi @sweetsunflowerboo
What other pps say is correct, they are very careful when they check for reduced growth,
I was flagged for reduced growth at ca 28 weeks and had almost biweekly scans since then, if they are considering you high risk of reduced growth they do not even bother to measure the belly from outside because it's not accurate enough.
In my case the growth curve must be checked by the same doctor with the same machine to have reliable data.
If they are really worried they would have sent you in for a scan immediately Wink

Try to relax as much as you can and all best wishes! Flowers

Anyone else suffering from bad acid reflux?
It's horrible!

Yogity · 16/10/2021 18:05

@SweetSunflowerBoo
I would echo what the OP have said. They are just cautious about growth not continuing along its little curve. Thankfully doesn't look hugely out of line. I have had fortnightly growth scans from 28 weeks as baby has a two vessel cord and is quite little and the consultant said its extremely common for those getting the usual bump measurement method to have a growth scan or two at some stage in the process! Glad you are managing yo relax now. Often these appointments are so rushed you walk out in a tailspin full of questions!

@luckytattie it's the worst, isn't it!? I have started sleeping slightly propped up because it was killing me at bedtime. It helps me a little. A friend of mine had omeprazole prescribed when it was bad, but with so little time left to go I am trying to soldier on unless I've no other choice

Esther1211 · 16/10/2021 21:10

@Luckytattie @Yogity I am suffering from bad acid reflux too and I’m taking TUMS which is a lifesaver.
You can get them on Amazon and take 2 at once.
Hope this will help you!

Luckytattie · 16/10/2021 21:28

@Yogity when are you due?
My DH keeps saying to me "oh well not much longer" and I'm like...it's 7 weeks! (29 Nov) That's quite a long time to be suffering with something and the likelihood it will get worse!
I am also propping myself up a bit.
I'm taking a few Rennies but they aren't doing much!

@Esther1211
Thank you will have a look at TUMS.

Also started getting a carpal tunnel feel in my wrist and that brought back memories from pregnancy 1 which I completely forgot about!
Yayyy

Yogity · 16/10/2021 21:33

@luckytattie 9 November! So just 3 and a bit weeks for me. Eek!

@esther1211 ooh I will look them up. I remember my mum taking TUMS when I was little. Had no idea they still made them. I'm going through so many rennies with little effect too. Gaviscon is a bit better but makes me retch

Luckytattie · 16/10/2021 21:39

Oh exciting! Yes that seems a lot more reasonable than my 7 lol

Katy4321 · 16/10/2021 22:14

@Luckytattie and others with reflux. It's horrible and sometimes just as i fall asleep i wake up almost inhaling it and coughing. I'm trying to make sure i eat small portions more often and something like cereal with milk, with my aspirin in the evening (and have a gap before bed). Then prop myself right up in bed at least for a while and sometimes take a gaviscon just as i turn the light off. All that helps a bit.
Hoping baby will drop a bit soon, to ease pressure on my stomach (im 36w), but then will probably need to wee more!

Heart4 · 17/10/2021 09:30

Hi Ladies, mind if I join? I'm 35 weeks. This is my first pregnancy, at 41.
Anyone else getting nighttime calf cramps?

Luckytattie · 17/10/2021 09:54

@Katy4321 my DH gets acid reflux Alot and always has milk and a few nights ago I asked him to get me a cup too cause I had it so badly. but when I actually googled it a few days ago it says milk makes acid reflux worse because it produces more Shock

I think the smaller portion thing is definitely the best thing but I'm always starving lol

Katy4321 · 19/10/2021 08:53

@heart4 welcome. This is my first pregnancy and I'm 44 and 36weeks. I've had cramps but only a couple of times badly - but one time my leg was sore for a couple of days after!
@Luckytattie thank you I'll be more careful of the milk! Hope you are doing OK with your reflux.

Luckytattie · 19/10/2021 10:26

Just chomping on the Rennies as we speak lol :)

I had horrendous sore pain on my lower left abdomen through the night. I was googling appendicitis but I see that's on the right hand side. Not sure if it was very painful trapped wind but I managed to fall asleep and it's gone. It was horrible..was awake for ages.

Can feel baby moving around though so think all ok there.
I know meant to be tracking movements but o just haven't for some reason.
Compared to DS when I tracked absolutely everything even breastfeeds for over a year! What was I thinking lol

Knock123 · 19/10/2021 12:51

My little girl was born on Monday weighing 6lb 1oz. After a couple of reduced movements and a growth scan they decided to induce me Friday night but as I was only 37 weeks my body just wasn't ready so it took until Monday morning. Looks like we will be in hospital for a couple more days as she is jaundiced but she is absolutely perfect and I can't believe she is here. Hope those of you nearing the end don't have long to wait!

Luckytattie · 19/10/2021 12:54

Aw that's great congratulations! Well done you!
How are you feeling?
Jaundice is sooo common but it's so sad to see them with their wee masks on
Flowers

Lizlou85 · 19/10/2021 17:26

Congratulations @Knock123.
Hope you're feeling ok.

Re pain on the left side, I've woken up regularly with cramp in the left calf, once woken in so much pain other half didn't know how to calm me down. I seem to be getting pain in left thigh too but I think that because of sleeping on that side, all the weight is causing the issue.

Yogity · 19/10/2021 23:04

@knock123 congratulations! Well done! Wishing you a restful time in hospital. Take full advantage of all the help while you're there and I hope the jaundice clears up soon Flowers

So exciting to see little ones in this thread starting to arrive.

37 weeks today, next appointment on Friday at 37+3. It has felt like forever since my last one at 34+3 so I'm so looking forward to a sort of status update of sorts!

Hope everyone is well and not too uncomfortable!

Katy4321 · 19/10/2021 23:34

@knock123 congratulations that is lovely news. Hope you are doing OK too and that the jaundice clears quickly and you can get home x

Vintique · 20/10/2021 12:42

Congratulations @Knock123! Hope you get home soon. DD1 had jaundice, bright bright yellow nappies were a surprise! Flowers

Roopers · 20/10/2021 21:17

Congratulations @Knock123!

I've been battling an upset stomach the last few days. Google obviously says 'early labour' and ' count the movement etc' which is quite difficult to get my head round. I think he's too quiet and then he'll do a massive dance and then I wonder if I'm being overly anxious cos I can't feel
Him all the time but I don't recall ever doing so. He's a wiggler but is he only wiggly when I'm calm.... I can't remember!
Also suffering with headaches and jaw ache (which is apparently a thing in late pregnancy.... who knew?!) I'm 35+5 so I guess it can happen anytime. He's breech though and we've had our section date for a few weeks time so even if labour did start I'll be in having a section.

Lizlou85 · 21/10/2021 20:11

@Roopers I had lack of movements a while ago and I wouldn't say my little one has much of a pattern. Yesterday I was busy all day on my feet and had the odd kick only but then today, I've driven from Newcastle to Suffolk, so sat a long while, and it's been none stop kicks and wriggles. When we went in for checks due to lack of movement the mid wife did say a little pressure gets them moving so now, and this might sound mean, but hasn't hurt it yet, I rest my I pad on my bump for a few minutes and it will try and kick it off. So I don't get as worried.

SweetSunflowerBoo · 22/10/2021 00:28

@Roopers I was just coming on here to see if anyone else has mentioned having a tummy ache or upset tummy. So I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's been happening the last few days now...

marykitty · 22/10/2021 14:52

Hello everyone!

Today is my last day at work (having a coffee break rn) Star

I went to the toilette few minutes ago and found out I started loosing the mucus plug Star due date is in 10 days.

Yogity · 22/10/2021 15:05

Seconding the upset tummy over here. I thought it was just my digestive system being a bit slow and rubbish. Hopefully promising!

I had another growth scan today. We were told all along to expect a smaller baby due to a two vessel cord. Started out this way with baby sitting on the 10th and then 20th centile. Well as of today's scan she has rocketed up and is currently estimated at 7lbs 1oz at 37+3 Confused. In the last 3 weeks I lost nearly 5lb and she gained almost 3. Starting to question having bought some newborn size clothes!

@marykitty oh how exciting! I thought I was losing part of mine the other day but now not so sure. Hope your last day of work goes smoothly and you can get on with relaxing before baby arrives!

Luckytattie · 22/10/2021 15:08

Oh good luck @marykitty if it all kicks off!

@Heart4 I have started waking just before my legs are going into cramp and I'm managing to relax the muscle before it gets into full on cramp. I don't know how I'm managing but I'm glad I can lol

Lizlou85 · 23/10/2021 08:45

Is anyone else suffering with really bad hiccups first thing in the morning? I've had the odd one or two first thing in the morning for the last few months but this last week it's been a lot more and sometimes I've woken in the middle of the night hiccuping?
