We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

@swiftt thank you for the new thread and due date list!
@Sitchervice is that the lateral flow ones? You can just get them from most chemists and you don’t even need to go in yourself if you’ve got someone that could pick some up for you? I also read that some libraries were giving them out too.

Taylor1896 · 07/06/2021 20:51

@swiftt thank you 😘 i know! We are in this together at least haha.

Congratulations to all who have already had their beautiful babies!

AlRRRR · 07/06/2021 20:55

@Sitchervice It might be different for me as I’m going to a very quiet birth centre, which is listed as a green hospital, (no labour ward or anything) and have 0 covid cases as they all go to a different hospital so all they told me was if there is enough time, they can test us if we wish and if not, no tests for either me or partner :)

Normando91 · 07/06/2021 20:55

Thank you for the new thread @swiftt

Nothing exciting happening here. Baby boy was ridiculously active between 10pm and 2am last night, to the point I was sure he might be punching his way out my cervix 🙈 I’ve been absolutely knackered all day so hoping he’s a bit quieter tonight.
Anyone else hopeful every time they go to the bathroom that they might have started losing their mucus plug or when they stand up that their waters might just break there and then?! I just want some sign that things are about to get going!
Have midwife appointment tomorrow and really anxious as I was sent for a growth scan as baby was measuring very small at 35 weeks so this is 3 weeks later and hoping he’s grown a fair bit as I really don’t want to hear the word “induction”. 😬

Humpty11 · 07/06/2021 21:10

@Normando91 haha this is 100% me as well! I just went to the toilet and thought my plug had started coming away so googled to see what it looks like and it’s definitely just discharge 😆😖. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow!

Humpty11 · 07/06/2021 21:16

@AIRRRR sorry I’ve only just seen your reply on the other thread! That’s fair enough about the tea, I’m terrible for buying fruit teas and them just sitting in the cupboard waiting to be thrown away so I didn’t bother with this one! 😂
He was born at 38+1 because I was induced for the start of pre eclampsia. I think I might pack some up to 3 month babygrows in my hospital bag just in case!!

123feraverto · 07/06/2021 21:22

40+2 today
Midwife tried a sweep but couldn't get in -

But have had on off periody type cramps since about 5pm

I do hope it's the start! Midwife said they wouldn't look at induction until 41+5 😱

Nesski · 07/06/2021 21:52

@Normando91 yes everytime I wipe! It's like we've come full circle, as 8 months before I was wiping hoping there wasn't any blood!!

Edelweiss2020 · 07/06/2021 22:57

Due date tomorrow for me and hopefully being induced, have to ring at 8am to check they have space. Cannot wait to meet little one, I know it may take a few days but at least the end is now in sight!

I'm the same, have been willing things to start on their own and tried a fair few things to kick-start labour to no avail. Midwife attempted a sweep on Saturday but couldn't reach :( Baby is super low though just obviously way too comfy!

AlRRRR · 07/06/2021 23:14

@Edelweiss2020 when you say she couldn’t reach, does that mean the cervix is just so high??? intrigued ...

Lovethatjourneyforme · 08/06/2021 00:16

Evening all! Our baby girl arrived on 5th June, weighing 7lb 1oz and looking gorgeous Smile

Slightly belated announcement as currently in the throws of sleep deprivation. Good luck to you all!

TerryRose · 08/06/2021 00:54

@Lovethatjourneyforme congrats , that is lovely news to read ☺️☺️ well done 💕💕

TerryRose · 08/06/2021 00:55

@Edelweiss2020 hopefully things will move for you soon! I have been told I have a high cervix or whatever the correct term is so not sure a sweep would work on me either tbh so hopefully things will move along naturally

Jinglebells87 · 08/06/2021 02:14

@swiftt - super work on the new post and your very well organised list!!

Good luck to everyone still expecting! I'm currently awake as my little chunky monkey has been feeding for hours....now he has fallen asleep I'm worried to put him in his moses basket in case he wakes up AGAIN! I think my nipples are going to drop off soon as they have been very over worked this evening Grin.

pookypup · 08/06/2021 03:04

Congratulations @Lovethatjourneyforme, hope all is going well.

@Jinglebells87 much sympathy on the sleep deprivation. My milk has just come in so comedy boobs mean I can’t get comfortable when she does nod off 😂

pookypup · 08/06/2021 03:05

And great job @swiftt on the list!

Nellle · 08/06/2021 08:48

Thanks for the new thread! Good luck everyone. So nice to see the babies arriving 😍 No rumblings here yet at 39 ± 2

lucieloos · 08/06/2021 09:34

Great job on the list @swiftt can you add me to the next update please. Due on the 21st.

TerryRose · 08/06/2021 10:27

Good morning, hopefully we will get some more baby news today , it's so lovely seeing the pics.

Just a question about the plug, apologies in advance if TMI so here's your warning 🤣I've noticed an increase in white discharge but from what I've read the plug is more clear/stringy rather than white/creamy consistency so I'm assuming it's just discharge and not my plug ?

Taylor1896 · 08/06/2021 10:45

@TerryRose i have noticed this too! Lots of White/creamy but the plug is more like snot, transparent and jelly-like, sometimes can have strings of pinkyness in (sorry for the TMI). Everytime i go to the toilet im always checking for this haha!

swiftt · 08/06/2021 10:49

@TerryRose I’m also having lots more discharge but it’s either white and creamy or just like water. I think, from what I’ve seen anyway, the plug will be much more mucus like. Blush

TerryRose · 08/06/2021 11:41

@Taylor1896 @swiftt thank you ladies, haha you'd be sick of looking wouldn't you ! Hopefully this increase in discharge is a sign that the plug is on its way !

Humpty11 · 08/06/2021 12:44

@TerryRose @Taylor1896 @swiftt my midwife asked me today if I’d had any changes in discharge as it’s very common towards the end. I said I thought some of my plug had come away but on googling it looked more like an increase in discharge.
It definitely looks more snotty and thick from the pictures I’ve seen 🤢.
Pregnancy puts us through so many delights 😂

TerryRose · 08/06/2021 14:27

@Humpty11 thank you ! That sounds like what I have so , yeah this is more normal discharge than what I read about the plug 🙈🙈 haha doesn't it just , the amount of things I've learned over the last 9 months is ridiculous 🤣 I had no clue about pregnancy

Humpty11 · 08/06/2021 16:37

@TerryRose haha I know, I expect a lot of people didn’t realise they’d be discussing things like this either!
I asked her if there was anything that she’d advice that might get things moving and she said a few drops of clary sage oil in the bath can sometimes help because it helps to release oxytocin. Apparently it’s good after a sweep as well, so I’ve ordered some on Amazon for delivery tomorrow 😂🤞🏼.
