We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

@AnxiousAnnie86 I felt constantly thirsty when EBF, I definitely had to drink more water. I think it’s recommended to have 12 glasses per day instead of 8 when breastfeeding too

TerryRose · 26/08/2021 16:56

@AnxiousAnnie86 yes omg
I'm constantly parched and having to pee which is awkward as she's on me all day feeding or sleeping 🤣

@serenfach1 my girl was fine after her jabs, she was sleepy but in good form,
I was ready a meltdown .
I gave her calpol straight after her injections at 12 and then at 4 and then at 10pm and that was it

BabyBumpIncoming · 26/08/2021 22:08

@serenfach1 my LO was ok after his jags, only thing out of the ordinary was that he didn't want to be put down for naps but was still happy and smiley when awake & was feeding fine.

I also have a breakout of spots on my chin, I wasn't sure if it was hormones or the amount of chocolate I'm eating 🙈😂

@AnxiousAnnie86 my HV said I should be drinking plenty water (didn't specify an amount) and even more in the warm weather, I am a water drinker anyway but seem to be needing loads more than I would have drank before baby. Constantly parched!

BabyBumpIncoming · 26/08/2021 22:15

@serenfach1 I should have said that we also gave the 3 lots of calpol and the first dose was in the car park before leaving the docs, I'd heard from friends experience that they waited until they got home and it was too late as fever had started already. They did suggest giving him a dose before jags but wasn't sure how the nurse would have responded, when we went into the office she asked if he had already had first dose so would have been ok with getting it before jag just a thought if you wanted to run by your doc/nurse.

Just wondering how you are getting on with trips outside the house ?

We tried a trip yesterday with her , she just turned 10 weeks , she ended up getting overtired and couldn't get to sleep , had her in the pram and she cried so we went home and she literally cried really hard all the way back it was so stressful , she doesn't seem to be able to get to sleep unless I am feeding her

BabyBumpIncoming · 31/08/2021 13:52

@TerryRose that must have been hard, it's horrible listening to them cry when you can't really soothe them 😢

My son is 10weeks too ☺️ we had our first baby class today so I was actually dreading it, was thinking he would either be due a feed or sleep around that time so ended up going to the class early and feeding him in the car before going in so he was awake, worked out well but not easy to try and plan.

Have you tried white noise? I pop it on my phone and put that in the pram if he is really crying - it's like it has magic powers (some of the time) although he's quick fussy - only likes the hairdryer sounds 🙈😂
Could you maybe try to tie in a coffee shop stop for a feed to get her off to sleep if that's the only was she settles? Not ideal I know. X

BabyBumpIncoming · 31/08/2021 13:53

@serenfach1 how did the jags go?

Fishingforhappiness · 31/08/2021 20:25

Hi all it's been a while.... DD had got to a nice 3hourly sleep pattern. Then started sleeping 7 30-1, then 3 hourly. I can put her down awake and she still sleeps til 1...but now wakes again at 3 then every hour until 6am requiring lots of BF. She's now 13 weeks and she's also been diagnosed with a milk allergy so I'm now dairy free. She's had 2nd set of jabs today, urgh! Not sure if it's developmental or something I'm doing wrong. Anyone else have any ideas?

Humpty11 · 01/09/2021 19:08

Hey @Fishingforhappiness I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong at all. I’m pretty sure that every time baby is feeding more or more unsettled it’s because of a developmental “leap”. Even if it doesn’t marry up with what apps or google say you can guarantee it’ll be because of that. I hope she isn’t too unsettled from her jabs. You’re doing an amazing job 💕

Fishingforhappiness · 02/09/2021 15:57

Thank you. I needed this. She's got a stinking cold. I wonder if she was brewing it. Poor mite. Going to visit our top choice nursery tonight. It does all seem to be going so fast! She's only 3 months and I dont need it until 1 year but thier waiting list is so long. It juts makes me sad to think about leaving her... total PFB moment today Confused

Humpty11 · 02/09/2021 19:56

@Fishingforhappiness oh no, I expect she was feeling a bit grim which is why she needed extra milky snuggles with you. I hope the nursery visit went well! At least if you love it and you’re on the waiting list then you don’t have to worry about anything until just before you return to work. I’ve requested an application form from the nursery my son goes to so that we can be added to the waiting list for next June/ July time.

TerryRose · 22/09/2021 10:07

🤣 hope you are all doing well

June 2021 - part 6 - the final push!
AnxiousAnnie86 · 22/09/2021 10:32

@TerryRose 😂 We've been so lucky with G, but she's had her second jabs yest snd she is soooo poorly today it's just awful!!! X

TerryRose · 22/09/2021 13:36

@AnxiousAnnie86 oh no poor bubs I've heard the second jabs are much harder on them,
Im dreading it

AnxiousAnnie86 · 22/09/2021 13:41

@TerryRose she has a temp on the first ones which she doesn't this time, but her leg is really bruised this time :( she just cries alll the time since x

TerryRose · 12/10/2021 20:08

Hello all just checking in as I'm not in the Facebook group , how are you all getting on?
My LO is just 16 weeks now

Scarftown · 12/10/2021 20:39

Hello! How are you doing?
16 weeks almost here too and she’s given up on sleep. The broken sleep and the long resettles are slowly getting to me. Apart from that tho she is amazing. Just waiting on a giggle or two.

jupitermars1345 · 12/10/2021 21:16

My little one is 17 weeks now.
We are doing ok. Struggling a bit though.
This is my 2nd and it's hit me just how hard I find the baby stage.

serenfach1 · 12/10/2021 21:34

This is so weird... I was just thinking of you all... Opened up my emails and saw my notification that there'd been new posts. I was thinking it'd been ages since anyone had posted and I was going to check in!

16 weeks on Friday and not in any particular routine... Moved house 2 weeks ago, a complete relocate, with a 2 year old too, so life is busy, exciting, overwhelming, chaotic, etc...

Baby is waking often at night. Some nights we cosleep, others I have the energy to feed then put him back in the next to me. Co-sleeping hit & miss. Last night we did it I felt like we both slept well, other times I feel like I don't get a second of quality sleep.

Day sleep hit & miss too. Sometimes he'll do a good chunk other times it's just eyes closed for 10 mins!

Bf with one ff bottle around 5ish given by dad.

Keep thinking we need to get into a bedtime rhythm and routine but is tricky ATM so just going with the flow.

Tummy time... How much TT is your baby getting? I don't think I'm doing it enough Confused

Love & strength to all WineFlowers

Tangled123 · 14/10/2021 08:38

Baby doing well, she’ll be 4 months on the 18th.

I think she hit the 4 month sleep regression early (at 3 months) so sleep is a lot better now. We’ve started letting her cry it out (I check on her after 10minutes of crying), and she’s still asleep now after going to bed at 9:30.

Our bedtime routine is clean nappy and clothes, baby massage, sleep sack, bed and stories. A feed is usually thrown in but timing depends on when she last ate.
No daytime routine, I just try to let her sleep if she’s been awake for 2 hours. She’s beginning to fall asleep independently, which is freeing up a lot of time for me.

I was only breastfeeding at night, but she’s sleeping more then so she’s getting more formula now. She’s still a tiny thing, but had moved up in the centiles last time she was weighed.

@serenfach1 I try and do a little bit of tummy time every day, but we’re nowhere near the recommended hour. We do maybe 15minutes per day? We are helping her sit up and bear weight on her legs though.

My SIL started introducing solids to her LO at 4 months on advice from her health visitor. Mine said the new advice was to wait until 6 months. What are you all doing?

Whywontitname · 14/10/2021 09:59

How is everyone’s 4 month regressions? Mine is awful, he’s waking every hour and I’m on my knees, really don’t know what to do 😩 he’s 20 weeks now it’s been going on a month.

@serenfach1 I find it hard to get into a routine too, sometimes he falls asleep earlier and won’t have story etc. No two day is the same. He’s fully breastfed so still feeding on demand.

@Tangled123 I got told 6 months as a general rule but the baby needs to be sitting independently and interested in food so will start when he can do that and looks like he wants something I think if it’s a bit earlier! He’s getting better at sitting but will fall over if I don’t keep an eye on him ha.

serenfach1 · 14/10/2021 16:00

@Tangled123 one hour of TT a day?! That's crazy! I really need to start upping it then.

Sounds like a lovely bedtime routine you have going.

I'm waiting until mine is 6 months before, which will basically be Jan 1st. I found weaning stressful with my first so for me the longer I can put it off the better. Baby should be able to sit up independently and hold their head and neck up otherwise feeding can be a choking hazard.

@Whywontitname
Sorry you're having a tough time with the sleepless nights. It's so exhausting. My LO's night time sleep is really hit and miss. Usually more miss than hit ATM! He's just about to hit 16 weeks so we'll see what that brings...

I was reading past chats about routines and I'm not sweating it too much now. I think he'll fall into his own routine and if he doesn't then I'll worry about it further down the line if I need to! I do want to get into a nice consistent routine for bedtime soon though. He's currently still sleeping in moses basket downstairs at night until I go up to bed. Hubby changes him into a onesie around 7 which is like getting into pjs but that's all we do ATM. We do read to him just not as part of the bedtime routine. I'm going to give it a couple more weeks and wait for new home chaos to settle before diving into bedtime routine.

TerryRose · 21/10/2021 17:59

@Whywontitname @Scarftown @serenfach1
My little one is waking every hour at night also , there's been a few nights where she was waking every 20 mins to comfort feed , we are co sleeping as she's never been a long sleeper at night and I find it easier this way .
Had the 4 month vaccinations on Tuesday thankfully they don't seem to have bothered nee too much.
We don't have much of a routine only that she needs to go to bed by 7/8 pm , she starts to get cranky around that time but other than that no routines!
