We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

@AlRRRR… you don’t have a kettle??

I couldn’t have gotten through this pregnancy without a kettle. I’m obsessed with tea!

AlRRRR · 10/06/2021 20:39

@Normando91 No haha, my family all have kettles and drink hot drinks all day but me? Never have liked it, I just heat up a pan it i want a herbal tea 🤣🤣

Feeling nervous about induction tomorrow 😢

AlRRRR · 10/06/2021 22:11

@Sitchervice oooo, no words of advice but good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly and you have your baby soon! x

MimiDaisy11 · 10/06/2021 23:28

@Sitchervice
Good luck with induction. I know people dread having to be induced but lots of people have smooth inductions.
I feel I'm heading that way myself. I'm just going in for a swap tomorrow to see if that does anything then going from there.

Sitchervice · 11/06/2021 07:09

It's so bad I hardly slept 😣

Sweetmad · 11/06/2021 09:11

@Waitingforbabypage congratulations! She’s beautiful!

@Sitchervice good luck with induction. Stay positive and get moving when they say you can. Will be thinking if you x

Sitchervice · 11/06/2021 09:15

Thanks I'm so scared they are going to delay it. I'm freaking out already and can't keep calm. They said they'd phone me and I can't stand the not knowing.

swiftt · 11/06/2021 10:06

Excited for more baby updates. I’ll post an updated version of the list over the weekend with the new arrivals.

I’ve just checked the weather and it looks like it’s going to be scorching on Sunday. Well, 24 degrees but up here in scotland that’s pretty much tropical. I’m struggling enough with the heat as it is, and Sunday is the day I’m predicting I’ll go into labour! 😂

@swiftt I really want to drive to the beach with all this sunshine but we live nowhere near the bloody beach and I’m not brave enough to be 2 hours away from home after my due date.

@Sitchervice atleast you’ll be having new born cuddles soon Cake

swiftt · 11/06/2021 10:47

@PinkPlantCase hahah yes, I was thinking about that this morning when the sun was out. I wouldn’t trust that sort of distance at this stage either! Lucky we’ve got dark, cloudy skies now so I’m not tempted by the beach. 😂

@PinkPlantCase sorry I didn't mean to be selfish. I'm just scared 😭

PinkPlantCase · 11/06/2021 11:54

@Sitchervice and I totally didn’t mean to sound snarky!! Sorry, I’d be scared too, hopefully you get the call soon and they get the ball rolling.

I was more concerned that you’re going in to have an induction that you don’t want! It’s totally non of my business but you can always say no or ask for more time if you’re worried. Though I imagine after a sleepless night you just want to crack on with everything!

Sitchervice · 11/06/2021 12:01

@PinkPlantCase the obstertrition says I have to for baby's sake. I don't mind the induction (won't have the drip if I can help it) it's the waiting to be called in I don't like. The unknown. The will it be delayed.

MimiDaisy11 · 11/06/2021 12:04

I don't know why I thought having a summer baby would be good. I was hoping the hot weather wouldn't come until July. If I have another I'll try for a spring baby lol.

Did anyone with the 8th as their due date actually give birth then? I know it's unusual to have it on your due date but that's the most popular one for this group.

I'm booked in for an induction next week which will be close to 42 weeks. Hopefully baby comes before then :)

TerryRose · 11/06/2021 17:28

@MimiDaisy11 yup the heat is something else !! I'm exhausted from it. Hope your baby comes soon ❤️

AlRRRR · 11/06/2021 17:48

@Sitchervice Did you go in? :)

AlRRRR · 11/06/2021 17:49

@MimiDaisy11 wow! so you’re nearly 2 weeks over your due date? Have they tried the sweep thing? :)

Sitchervice · 11/06/2021 17:59

@AlRRRR I'm in and hooked up to the monitor, eating a fruit cup! My mum got lost in the hospital 😂

AlRRRR · 11/06/2021 18:05

@Sitchervice Ooo good luck! Baby on the way soon then!!! :)

Nesski · 11/06/2021 22:00

@Sitchervice eeeeek good luck! Xxx

Fishingforhappiness · 12/06/2021 08:36

Just catching up... Good luck for the inductions- don't forget your ear plugs! and congratulations with all the new babies!

Woke up this morning regretting my daughters name... I had a dream she would be bullied for it. Now im crying about it (I'm very tired).
In recovery post emergency c section, I let my husband and midwife choose the name, whilst I was poorly and out of it, as I didn't think she suited the name I already liked. Now I dont think I like what he's chosen. She's being registered Tues, everyone has met her. We have cards, books and memory boxes with her name on. He says its too late to change. I feel like I've had no input, he chose first name, middle name is his grandma's and his family name. Is this normal? Will I learn to love it as its hers?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/06/2021 08:45

@Fishingforhappiness I think Petra Hazel is a beautiful name! What makes you feel unsure? Do you think it was the lack of input? Would you switch them round? Hazel Petra?

I do know how you feel, there isn't a name in 💯 set on but there is my husband and I feel like I'm going to just agree after c section to make him happy but I really don't love it and feel I will regret it x

Sitchervice · 12/06/2021 09:03

@Fishingforhappiness the name is fine, I think all parents worry. Especially mothers.

My x best friend told me Eland would be bullied for life. We've got things with his name written all over it. We checked with family members and friends who are teachers both secondary and primary and they told us kids don't really get bullied for names so much these days. People give their children so many unusual unique names.

AlRRRR · 12/06/2021 09:16

@Sitchervice How is your induction going !! :D
