Morning sickness (sorry)

I am 6 weeks pregnant and feeling sick as a dog. This is all new to me, wtf do I do? I feel starving but nauseous. Felt sick most of day, better after lunch, then threw up entire day's food about 4 pm, after which I felt MUCH better but now I am extremely hungry, just ate small amount of food and feel ill again. Is this just how it goes? Does it come and go or is this it now? Will it pass? Does it mean I am having a girl? Is there any hope in hell that I can pretend I am NOT pregnant when I am mooning around in a smock looking like death warmed up?

my god I am hungry

it is like someone switched my stomach back on and it works again

I had to have a banana in the night last night as I was so gapingly hungry

dp woke up and muttered about being in bed with a ruddy chimp

my sister shopped and my dh cooked tonight. Had a proper meal first time in ages. I just can't face buying or cooking food if it's for me to eat but was really nice tonight.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 17/11/2007 21:39

I feel my evening fruit binge coming on. And possibly some cheese.

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2007 08:32

I'm eating and I feel fine

does this mean something has gone wrong? [fret]

No! It can go up and down anyway.

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2007 08:37

sorry have just started other panicky thread

I googled and it wasn't good

this isn't up and down, it was up and down all week, then yesterday it has completely gone, I feel absolutely normal

that doesn't sound right does it

Oh gawd don't google. i mean i do and i was convinced i had listeria last week. i'll check your other thread.

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2007 08:39

I know I shouldn't have done it

the other thread just says the same but I was hoping 3000 people would come on and say "yes the exact same thing happened to me"

however they haven't

have you called NHS direct yet??

same thing did happen to me, after about 12 weeks of sickness. If you escaped with less, just be happy!!

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2007 09:35

no I haven't called NHS direct? Do you think I should?

OP posts:
Nightynight · 18/11/2007 09:45

er, I was joking actually! But they might be able to reassure you.

my morning sickness also vanished overnight, and I dont think there is a set time period for it - it just comes and goes again.

ruty · 18/11/2007 10:05

you could call your gp [i find NHs direct a bit clueless and they'll probably just refer you to your gp] but I'm guessing they'll say don't worry unless other symptoms..The absence of symptoms doesn't really say much!

VictorianSqualor · 18/11/2007 11:18

Franny dont worry, it happens to me all the time, I'm at week 20 tomorrow and I still get awful days and good days. I found the days I felt good I ate as much as I could

It's perfectly normal.

VictorianSqualor · 18/11/2007 11:19

Oh and as for google, I apparently had pre-eclampsia and was severely ill according to google, it was just a hormonal headache!

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 18/11/2007 19:41

Did you have any morning sickness with DC1 Franny? From your OP it sounds like you didn't in which case, you perhaps had an unusual hormonal blip last week, and it's back to business as usual (usual for your pregnancies anyway).

If you are really panicking, an EPU might do a scan to check. I don't think NHS Direct will be of any help (you'll hang on for ages and then they'll say 'go and see your GP').

I'm sure it's all fine. And I hope you feel sick tomorrow - just for peace of mind!

FrannyandZooey · 19/11/2007 18:14

I just feel fine

and last night I had not much sleep and today I ate wheat and sugary stuff all day and I still feel fine

so it wasn't just that I have been resting and not eating stuff that brings it on

it has gone

you may all be right but you can see why I am perturbed

FrannyandZooey, there is no reason or pattern to mine either. I was really sick on Friday, but all day Sat and Sun was just retching and feeling sick. Then this morning, felt fine - until 4pm. Now I feel horrible. Sometimes it just goes. (but always seems to come back)
