@jessicakxx I've bought bits and pieces - we've got a bath support, a couple of blankets/clothing items, a play gym and a (second hand)!bouncer. Our scan is tomorrow so I'm excited to buy some more clothes once we know if little one is a he or a she Smile❤️

I think we're going to order the cot/nursery furniture fairly soon if all is hopefully OK tomorrow 🤞🏻 I know what I'm like and I'll want it all set up before I'm too close to the end otherwise I'll be flapping!

What travel system did you go for? I think we're going to go to the nearest big city at the end of July to look at them, can't wait!

mrssunshinexxx · 13/06/2021 18:01

Eek @mooloop what time is your scan ? Does anyone else have scans coming up this week? Mines Wednesday I can't bloody wait

mooloop · 13/06/2021 18:09

1.30pm @mrssunshinexxx ... I'm quite nervous for it now!! Wednesday will fly in for you!

jessicakxx · 13/06/2021 18:20

@mooloop @mrssunshinexxx good luck for your scans 😀 exciting

@mooloop we've gone for the egg stroller and it comes with maxi cosi car seat. I was going to order it the end of July but I found a good deal so I just ordered it and will keep it at my partners mums until a week or two before due date. I am going to order the snuzpod and Chest of drawers/changing units next month. Time is just going so fast x x

mrssunshinexxx · 13/06/2021 18:36

I have the egg I love it!! @jessicakxx

jessicakxx · 13/06/2021 18:43

@mrssunshinexxx oh amazing! It looks lovely and most important looks really practical and easy to deassemble for in and out the car!x

rtz22 · 13/06/2021 19:03

@mooloop I've my Big scan tomorrow morning aaahhh I'm excited and nervous. Best of luck.. I was going to wait until after that scan before paying down a deposit on a maxi cosi travel system that's on offer... fingers crossed all goes OK for us both tomorrow. 🤞

jessicakxx · 13/06/2021 19:12

@rtz22 good luck with your scan 🥰

mooloop · 13/06/2021 19:19

Good luck @rtz22! I feel really quite nervous for it but also it can't come quick enough! Don't know how I'll concentrate at work in the morning 😭😂

rtz22 · 13/06/2021 19:32

Thank you guys 😊 oh I wouldn't be doing much work at all if I had my scan later in the day , wouldn't be able to focus 🤦‍♀️

jessicakxx · 13/06/2021 19:45

@mooloop my 20 week scan was at 3pm on a Friday... I baked a banana bread, full house clean, whilst was meant to be working from home. It went quite fast until the last hour and half so we decided to leave the house half an hour early and sit on the hospital car park just so we weren't waiting in the house 😂 we were so eager. But it was one of the best days ever when we saw him again and found out their gender ❤️

mrssunshinexxx · 13/06/2021 19:58

Good luck @rtz22 are you finding out the sex ?
@jessicakxx it's fab ! I bought it not knowing it goes into a double which is bloody fab now I need a double !

Jl2020 · 13/06/2021 20:02

Hey everyone, hope you are all ok?
Good luck to those having their scans next week 😍 how is everyone finding this heat? Iv been moaning about not having a bump for ages but atm I'm feeling fortunate to not have one I'm struggling enough as it is 😂
when did everyone start to show? I'm 19+2 and nothing yet apart from a bit of bloat in the evenings xx

jessicakxx · 13/06/2021 20:43

@Jl2020 I usually sit in the sun for every minute it's out but since pregnant I can't sit in it for
More than 10 minutes 😂 I just sit under the parasol, although I must say it's nice that's it's warm and I can wear as little clothes as possible. Hope you are well xx

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 13/06/2021 21:18

Yes!! Definitely agree on the tiredness !! We went to a extremely large estate today so lots of walking and lots of sun 😅🙈 came home around around 4 and thats me just awake 😂 never had tiredness like this with my first 2 but this time am absolutely wiped! Not sure if its the heat and being further along than I usually am at this time of year both pervious pregnancies I was due in December so suspecting I missed out on the heat last 2 times 🙈this time am literally a sweaty puffing mess 😂 also completely get the mum guilt re food this pregnancy all I've done is eat!! And not always the best choices!😩 although I had hg with both my girls and they were whoppers when they were born 😅so I'm not too concerned In regards to what he's getting as I know first hand baby will take all the goodness from u regardless of what there getting or your eating so don't worry to much!💖 am more concerned how big my next one is going to be 😩😂😂 have a follow up scan tomorrow as he was lying in a funny position last time so may ask if they can roughly guesstimate what he may be lol x

Kona84 · 13/06/2021 22:45

This heat has been killing me 22 weeks today and bump is def out.
Feeling lots of movements which is nice.
Last night in bed I was in the worst pain in my abdomen, I was sweating and couldn’t get comfortable I almost woke my partner up to tell him something must be wrong then I rubbed my belly and the trapped wind that came out was horrendous- after that all felt good and I was able to sleep.
I think it was due to the Pepsi max I had drank earlier in the day sat on the park with the dog.

I’m finding I’ve still got quite a bit of energy- I take more frequent breaks to hydrate but had a really good clean of the house today, couple of dog walks and made a Sunday dinner.

I went to the charity shops too today and found so many cute items- my local charity shop do baby items for 50p and seeing as they are going to be using them for 5 mins I can’t see the point in spending more than I need to.

I bought a Moses basket brand new- which I said I wasn’t going to but after having to buy a new mattress for a second hand next to me crib which cost double what the crib did I felt that I might as well buy new and get one I really like.

I posted the other day about been worried about swelling in left foot only- my midwife replied and asked me to contact the maternity assessment unit. I ran 10 times each time it was either engaged or no answer (spread out throughout the day) I kept an eye on my foot and when I’d finished work I put my shoes on to walk the dog and both were swollen- so I decided just to keep an eye on it and call again if any new symptoms came up. None have. And today’s been cooler and my feet have been better.

@Kona84 definitely nothing wrong with second hand stuff I've bought loads of stuff second hand. Like you say they've barely been used. My charity shops aren't that good though. Never have baby stuff. Maybe I'm going to the wrong place haha!

I also get really bad trapped wind! It's excruciating isn't it. I get paranoid there's something wrong all the time. I can't help it. I feel baby moving around but then I wonder if it's really baby kicking or if I've just got wind.
It's just me being silly and paranoid xx

Beanie14 · 14/06/2021 05:46

@jessicakxx. That's exactly the same as me. I love the sun normally but now I can't sit out at all! I spent all of 10 minutes in the sun today and then sheltered like a vampire. It's going to have to be fake tan this year!
Xx

jessicakxx · 14/06/2021 07:25

@Kona84 I have been looking for second hand stuff too, I bought a tommee tippee prep machine for £20, in perfect condition. Just going to add a new filter and sterilise the machine outside and inside, saved £60! Also, so weird you say that about the pain you had the other night! Thursday night I started getting terrible pain all over my stomach that would last about 30 seconds then go and then come back and I have NEVER felt pain like it, I began to think something was wrong with baby and was so worried. Luckily it went, maybe it's a 22 week thing?

@Beanie14 lol yes I think it might be 😂 I am like a vampire too, sitting in the shade eating tip tops 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 14/06/2021 08:32

Is your body prepping you for labour already?! @jessicakxx

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 14/06/2021 08:54

@jessicakxx it sounds like braxton hicks which can usually start about now, if your worried or keep getting them or really painful id maybe say to you midwife💖 if you get them some times moving position especially if lying down can help or if your dehydrated u can get them aswell I get tightenings very early in pregnancy and have done alot with this one but they've never been painful just tight and annoying lol give ur maternity assessment or midwife a wee call they be more than happy to put ur mind at rest 💕x

jessicakxx · 14/06/2021 08:55

@mrssunshinexxx I genuinely thought if this is painful, how painful is labour going to be 😂 uh oh! Atleast I'll have something lovely at the end of that 😂 xxx

jessicakxx · 14/06/2021 08:57

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 oh wow! I never knew this! That's reassuring! I have my first consultant app on Monday so will mention it to him. Thank you for that information that's really helpful to know xx

mrssunshinexxx · 14/06/2021 09:02

Haha yeah it's not fun but well worth it @jessicakxx

Iris2020 · 14/06/2021 09:53

I'm due in October and had a massive scare this weekend. I couldn't feel the baby move at all for a day so went in for a reassurance doppler with the midwife. She took a full 5 minutes to find the heartbeat and in the end a second midwife was called in to confirm. I've never felt so scared! Baby was properly hiding.
Since then, it has started moving again. I'd never heard of problems finding the heartbeat at 20+ weeks, especially since it was loud and clear at 16 weeks. Fortunately we have a scheduled scan soon so hopefully more reassurance.
