Hey @babycakes3, I'm due on the 30th too!

Kona84 · 10/06/2021 18:48

Anyone else experiencing swollen feet already? I’m 21 + 4 weeks
For me it seems to be just my left foot- it swells up gradually through the day.
No pain no other symptoms- I messaged the midwife to see if I should be concerned but no reply yet.
My only worry is it is one foot only and I read this can indicate DVT or preeclampsia

It'd be early for pre eclampsia but no harm getting checked. Gradual swelling during the day should hopefully just be water retention, eating cucumber and watermelon can help swelling go down if it is minor!

Kona84 · 10/06/2021 20:16

Yes I thought early for preeclampsia too then google said from 20 weeks onward and I panicked.
I feel well and no other issues so I think it’s just water retention too and the heat

I think it's more typical for it to start from about 25 weeks on, but I had it at 36 weeks so I'm not too up on info of it earlier on. Definitely best to get bp and protein checked anyway if midwife suggests it.

@Jaymar @jessicakxx @Cpr12 @Garman @mooloop

Thanks, great to know that the sickness should be ending soon, fingers crossed! It's just relentless but hopefully a distant memory soon.

pixiedust21 · 11/06/2021 15:45

Just back from our 20 week scan.... wriggly baby, all looking good and healthy, though need to go for a rescan in 3 weeks as they couldn't get a proper look at the face. Baby had hands in front of their eyes 🙈

Also...... it's a little boy! 💙💙

Cpr12 · 11/06/2021 16:18

@pixiedust21 congrats!!! And great news all is going well.

MF1981 · 11/06/2021 17:08

@Kona84 yes I’m getting swollen feet and ankles every day and am almost 23 weeks now. I saw my consultant and asked about it this week - he said it was just the heat and fluid retention and not to worry unless I get other symptoms such as headaches, disturbed vision, breathing difficulties or sickness.

mooloop · 11/06/2021 18:05

Aww congratulations @pixiedust21! My scan is on Monday, can't wait!

Rmka · 11/06/2021 19:03

Congratulations @pixiedust21! Smile Glad your boy is well.

@babycakes3, I hope you feel better soon. For me the sickness stopped around 16 week.

jessicakxx · 11/06/2021 20:04

@pixiedust21 congratulations 💙 naughty boy 😋

jessicakxx · 11/06/2021 20:49

Does anyone else feel guilty for eating something bad now pregnant? 😂😂😂 I had a takeaway and no I feel really annoyed that it wasn't nutritious for the baby. Mum guilt already starting...

Garman · 11/06/2021 20:59

No I can't say that I do. It's not like I eat takeaway for every meal, I eat a balanced diet, and if it doesn't make me nauseous then I'll eat it happily. Babies are born to starving mothers and ones with hyperemesis keeping nothing down, one takeaway has zero effect on them.

babycakes3 · 11/06/2021 21:20

Aww congrats @pixiedust21 xx

jessicakxx · 11/06/2021 21:20

@Garman that's so true x

Rmka · 11/06/2021 21:30

@jessicakxx, I understand how you feel. I feel guilty whenever I eat sweets. I generally eat healthily, but could cut down on sugar. Day to day I just eat fruits and an occasional biscuit or two, but when I eat out I always order a pudding, and it's usually big with ice cream or custard... I also feel guilty when eating pizza. Both don't happen often so in my head I know the baby will be fine, but still feel guilty for a while afterwards Smile

jessicakxx · 11/06/2021 21:39

@Rmka so glad it's not just me 💞 same as you I eat lots of fruit and healthy meals daily but tonight I got home from teaching my dance class and was so hungry so ordered a chicken burger and chips. Woopsieee 😀 xx

Cpr12 · 12/06/2021 21:10

@jessicakxx @Rmka me too! I generally eat healthy but normally have a day a week where I eat crisps and chocolate and maybe some cake 😂 Always feel guilty but know he is being fed well the rest of the time so tell myself it’s all good.

mooloop · 13/06/2021 16:29

Anyone else feeling tired after walking around a lot/doing stuff through the day? I walked quite a lot this afternoon and feel exhausted! I feel like it's too early to be feeling physically tired quickly already (20+1) Shock

jessicakxx · 13/06/2021 16:47

@mooloop yes I get like that too, I'm 22 weeks now but have had a it for a few weeks, mowing the lawn tires me out and the full house clean, I literally sprawl out on the sofa after that and can't move 😂

Cpr12 · 13/06/2021 16:49

@mooloop 100% everything is tiring. Just listen to your body and when you are tired, rest, even if it feels you shouldn’t have to. I haven’t done the housework since I was about 7weeks hahaha!

rtz22 · 13/06/2021 17:01

I am the exact, same ladies! Hoovered the house yest and I was shattered after it! Pretty solid excuse to ease up on the cleaning tho. My feet ache quite easily after a couple hours on them... Dreading the state of me by October!! 😯

mooloop · 13/06/2021 17:30

Thanks ladies @jessicakxx @Cpr12 @rtz22! Although I don't wish tiredness on anyone, it is nice to know I'm not the only one (especially when I keep reading about the second trimester energy boost Grin)

I was planning to clean all the house today too but I've managed to do all the washing and get it dried and that's it! I'll have to just get the hoover out after work tomorrow I guess, because I just can't face doing anything else but lying on the sofa today Shock

jessicakxx · 13/06/2021 17:43

@mooloop @Cpr12 @rtz22 as you say we just need to listen to our bodies! I can't believe I'm over half way, where is time going! Have you made any purchases yet? Ordered our travel system yesterday I'm really excited to get it. X
