Hi @jessicakxx ouch that sounds painful ! No but my scan is next wed I have a little baby girl whose 11months already .
Is anyone on here having a planned section? X

Juicytoot287 · 07/06/2021 18:09

Evening all,

Upon the news today, I will be hoping to book my vaccine as I feel its best for my circumstances as a teacher. It is still playing on my mind and concerning me but we have both decided the risk of covid is greater.

However, I know you have to leave time between whooping couhh vaccine. So when do we get that? I have my scan thursday

jessicakxx · 07/06/2021 18:11

@Juicytoot287 I think whooping vaccine is anytime from 16 weeks. I had mine done at 16 weeks xx

Cpr12 · 07/06/2021 18:28

@mrssunshinexxx I am really wondering if I will ask for a section. What caused my previous loss can happen at term so just wondering if the right thing is to get baby out of there at 37 weeks. Hard decision though! Are you having a csection, or just thinking about it?

@Juicytoot287 I didn’t know there had to be time between. Have my vaccination on Wednesday but still haven’t been told about whooping cough this time round, kind of forgot about it haha! Glad you have made a decision! Xx

Cpr12 · 07/06/2021 18:30

@Juicytoot287 went to see what was in the news today on the vaccine but don’t see anything. What was it?

Juicytoot287 · 07/06/2021 18:41

@Cpr12 Just that 25 to 29 can book, which is finally my turn!

Thanks everyone, i know its 16 weeks onwards but noone mentioned it. Didn't know if it is at scans or midwife

Cpr12 · 07/06/2021 18:51

@Juicytoot287 ah ok. I have been allowed it for what seems for months already so forgot others actually still have their youth 😂😂😂

Last pregnancy it was brought up at my 16 week appointment and I got it a week later. This time it wasn’t mentioned for me, unsure if that is normal just now or if because I ended up being sent to triage by the midwife at my 16 week appointment she was distracted….got my 22 week appointment on Friday so will remember to ask!

jessicakxx · 07/06/2021 18:54

@Cpr12 @mrssunshinexxx when do you discuss your birthday options? I am considering asking for a planned section due to the fact I will need to be induced regardless due to my Papp-a level. I have been switched to consultant led care as of this week and will have monthly growth scans, but wondering when is the best time to discuss my options with my consultant? This is my first baby so I'm not sure how this works x

Cpr12 · 07/06/2021 19:12

@jessicakxx I really don’t know. I am going to wait until I pass 28 weeks as by then I may be a little less worried. But I think you can ask any time. No harm in asking that is for sure! I would think the sooner the better in normal circumstances where there is a valid reason. As mine is kind of in my head, I want to hold off to see how i feel if that makes sense….

jessicakxx · 07/06/2021 19:14

@Cpr12 yes completely understand you wanting to see how you feel ❤️ thanks for advice will perhaps mention to him in two weeks at my app xx

Garman · 07/06/2021 19:56

You can discuss birth options at any time.

mrssunshinexxx · 07/06/2021 20:06

@Cpr12 I'm very sorry for your loss ❤️ it must be really tough a pregnancy following this.
I had an emergency section with my daughter and my consultant has advised it this time due to risk of scar rupture they like it to be 24 months between a section and a VBAC and I will only be 15 months and if it did rupture baby and me would both me in huge trouble I am disappointed as would still like to experience a natural birth but if I leave a big enough gap next time then I can and I was in labour for 26 hours , water pool, waters broke like in the movies so I feel like I got to experience some of it and it's not exactly fun!

Different circumstances of course but they don't usually do a section before 39 weeks unless there is concern of course

@jessicakxx I refused to be induced but luckily I went into labour naturally . Mention to consultant next time you speak to them sometimes you have to fairly fight for one depending on the reason but just know it is completely your right so if you want one just dot back down xx

Rmka · 08/06/2021 13:54

I just got my Covid vaccine today. Smile I had to wait 14 days after the whooping cough one.

My midwife offered to book whopping cough vaccine for me, but that would have been in the hospital which is far, so I booked it with my GP instead. The nurse then told me to wait a month for my Covid vaccine but I thought that's a long time, so I called my midwife and she recommended 14 days just to be extra safe. Official guidance is just 7 days.

Rmka · 08/06/2021 13:57

@Cpr12, I'm sorry for your loss. I hope they'll offer you a delivery that is best for you and your baby.

I'm planning to speak about birth options at my 25 week appointment. But making notes for a birth plan already so that I can discuss it.

Rmka · 08/06/2021 13:59

@Aki21, I hope you feel less stressed now. It's good you'll have a specialist appointment. I hope all goes well.

mrssunshinexxx · 08/06/2021 14:04

Anyone on here definitely not having the covid vaccine ?

jessicakxx · 08/06/2021 14:48

@mrssunshinexxx hey, I'm not going to get it, mainly as I work from home everyday so I'm not
Regularly in contact with people, apart from doing the weekly shop. I think if I still had to commute into the city I would but I'm at home everyday xx

jessicakxx · 08/06/2021 14:49

@mrssunshinexxx during pregnancy this is - I will get the vaccine post baby :), I also haven't been offered it yet; I am 27 x

Jaymar · 08/06/2021 15:44

Oh my midwife gave me my whooping cough at my 16 week appointment and I told her I was booked for COVID vaccine 6 days later. She didn’t tell me there had to be a gap Confused Oh well, nothing I can do about it now Blush

Rmka · 08/06/2021 16:12

@Jaymar, if you had the vaccine I'm sure it's fine. It's just a precaution, and plenty of vaccines are given on the same day.

If you haven't, there was a question on a questionnaire "have you had any vaccinations in the last 7 days". So if you answer yes, they may need to rebook your slot. But I'm not sure as I don't know anyone in that situation.

Jaymar · 08/06/2021 16:39

Thanks @Rmka. I’ve since had the COVID vaccine so hopefully there’s no damage done. I’m in Scotland so the process is a bit different, no online questionnaire. I feel fine and baby is kicking so will try not to worry, just annoyed my Midwife didn’t mention it as I’m relying on her to help me navigate my way through pregnancy. Also have my 20 week scan on Monday so that will reassure me if all looks well.

Jessica86Shropshire · 08/06/2021 16:41

@mrssunshinexxx

Hi *@jessicakxx* ouch that sounds painful ! No but my scan is next wed I have a little baby girl whose 11months already . Is anyone on here having a planned section? X
Hello! Yes I am. Have one planned in London for early October x
Rmka · 08/06/2021 17:26

@Jaymar, my midwife said it's only because if you have any serious side effects (which on its own is very unlikely), they want to know 100% which vaccine has caused it. So it doesn't sound like there's any risk to you or the baby. And if it's kicking that's definitely a good sign it's well :)

Hope all goes well at your scan! :)

Jaymar · 08/06/2021 17:29

@Rmka ah that makes sense, thanks for the info, that’s really helpful Smile

mrssunshinexxx · 08/06/2021 20:08

@Jessica86Shropshire have you already had one? How are you feeling about it?
