Oooh so exciting @Kona84, I’m 20+2 and only just feeling fluttering and pops but I have an anterior placenta so I guess it might take a while longer.

We had our 20 week scan on Friday and found out we’re having a little boy, it definitely feels more real now that we can shift to saying ‘he.’

Kona84 · 06/06/2021 13:31

@whitershadeofpale we are not finding out the gender. I still keep calling the baby It.
Sometimes they or them.

Garman · 06/06/2021 13:35

We always call them it because we don't find out if it's a boy or girl either.

No need to be ashamed of your reaction to feeling movement, it's weird!

Rmka · 06/06/2021 14:07

That's exciting @Kona84 Smile Kicks felt strange to me at first too.

@whitershadeofpale, congratulations! Flowers I feel the same, it's like I know my baby a bit better Smile But I still catch myself calling him 'it', it's hard to break a habit.

mooloop · 06/06/2021 15:46

The movements do feel really weird don't they! At first they felt like pops or kind of like a muscle twitch to me 😂

Congrats on your little boy @whitershadeofpaleSmile I can't wait to find out what we're having, I think it'll definitely make it seem more real.

whitershadeofpale · 06/06/2021 16:32

It’s definitely felt weird and I still say ‘it’ or ‘ ‘the baby’ a lot.

Garman · 06/06/2021 16:54

Wait til you get the huge sweeping movements that make your stomach lurch or whack your bladder or cervix 😂

jessicakxx · 06/06/2021 18:16

@mrssunshinexxx congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️ do you know what you are having yet? And oh that's good to know!! Trying to get used to the side sleeping although have developed carpal tunnel in the last 3 weeks when I sleep on my right side, so im literally only left with left side sleeping xx

Cpr12 · 06/06/2021 18:39

@mrssunshinexxx welcome!

@whitershadeofpale congrats on baby boy!!

@Garman @Kona84 I didn’t want to know sex but my hubby really wanted to and is physically incapable of not telling me information like that! Really wish I was getting a surprise like you both!

Anyone else getting a sore side? Not in bed just general life. It is starting to get really sore, not sure if it is early aches and pains as I am hypermobile??

jessicakxx · 06/06/2021 18:45

@Cpr12 just that right side where I'm getting the carpal tunnel! Can't even lift the kettle my wrist is that weak and painful and the night times are agony. Besides that just the lower back pain and the struggling to walk late at night, I am only 5ft1 though so think the bump is taking its toll xx

Garman · 06/06/2021 19:05

@jessicakxx have you splints for the carpal tunnel?

mooloop · 06/06/2021 19:13

@Cpr12 I'm having lower back pain frequently and if I walk a long distance my hips get very achey!

jessicakxx · 06/06/2021 19:13

@Garman I've not actually told the midwife about it or been to the doctors, my father in law told me what it was based on my description as he's had two operations for it. Apparently it's quite a common thing to get during pregnancy, I'd never even heard of it! Do you think I should call the doctors or go to the pharmacy? X

Garman · 06/06/2021 19:40

Yeah it's very common due to pressure from swelling on the nerves. Hospital physio gave me splints for it, pharmacist won't be able to do anything unless they the specific splints for it for you to buy. I'm in Ireland not UK so here we'd get them free through midwife or gp but pay if I went to pharmacy but not sure how it works in UK/where you are.

jessicakxx · 06/06/2021 20:03

@Garman ah amazing thank you, am in the uk, il call my midwife tomorrow, thank you xx

Cpr12 · 06/06/2021 20:11

@jessicakxx @mooloop much as I don’t wish either of you pain, glad I am not the only one 😂 I was expecting these things way further on!!!

JuicyGreenApple · 07/06/2021 06:50

Cpr12 · 07/06/2021 12:39

@Aki21 yes good luck today. Let us know how you go! Thinking of you xx

@JuicyGreenApple ah a wee girl, congrats. Boy here, not sure if I said to you already haha! Been buying way too many clothes of eBay since finding out haha!

jessicakxx · 07/06/2021 13:20

I've just had my panorama results back and they have all returned low risk 1/10,000, so happy could cry! X

Aki21 · 07/06/2021 15:08

@Cpr12 @jessicakxx

Had the appointment earlier, basically same findings - spinal deviation, although was much harder to see today.

Have referred me to Central for Fetal Care at Queen Charlotte for a fetal MRI this Friday. They should be able to visualise the spine better. Has anyone been there?

Was also offered amnio but consultant said is most likely not going to be helpful, so I said no for now...

jessicakxx · 07/06/2021 16:08

@Aki21 good that they have referred you to a specialist now so you can get it correctly assessed. Hope you are feeling Okay and my thoughts are with you xx

Aki21 · 07/06/2021 16:14

Many thanks for your kind wishes @jessicakxx

Could have done without this stressful situation but at least I am glad it was spotted!!

Cpr12 · 07/06/2021 17:23

@aki21 I can’t even begin to imagine how stressed you are about this, but glad you are receiving the care you need. Really good you are booked in for Friday too, I hope they give you some more answers. Xx
