@Jessica86Shropshire have you already had one? How are you feeling about it?
Hello! No I haven't. I have quite a full on job so like the fact I can plan the date and have lots of friends who have done the same at the same hospital who all report positively so fingers crossed! Also have an amazing obstetrician who is very positive on it so again everything crossed. Baby is also likely to be rather big too so it may become the inevitable anyway 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 08/06/2021 21:25

@Jessica86Shropshire there are definitely pros to planned ones my last was emergency but my consultant has strongly advised planned this time due to the short time frame since my last one and risk of scar rupture if I went natural so I'm abit disappointed but trying to focus on the positives as I am a very organised person so it will be great to organise my little one , get the house sorted full of food etc Grin

Hi Ladies,

Can I join please? I'm due 30th October. Still feeling like I have a massive hangover every morning. Is anyone else feeling like this? I read it's supposed to subside around 16 weeks!?

Thanks xo

jessicakxx · 09/06/2021 08:51

@babycakes3 hi!! Congratulations, sorry to hear you're still feeling unwell - I am not too sure as I really luckily escaped any nausea or sickness but I'm sure it will fade any day now xxxx

Cpr12 · 09/06/2021 09:38

@babycakes3 welcome! I woke up every day feeling hungover until about last week, 22 weeks today. It is so horrible!! Hadn’t really thought about it going but yeah, for the last week I have been waking early and feeling good! So yes hopefully it will go for you soon :)

Got my covid vaccine today, a little worried about it but know it is for the best!

I am just struggling with this heat and aches and pains, thought I had at least another 10 weeks until I felt this way haha! But can’t complain as baby is healthy and safe in there!

jessicakxx · 09/06/2021 09:54

@Cpr12 same! I'm feeling really big now, last night it felt like my stomach was going to pop open. Everyone I've shown my bump to can't believe how big I am and that I'm going to have a big baby 😂 which is ironic been as I've gotta have monthly growth scans to make sure baby is still growing... I literally am going to look like a beach ball within a few weeks

Jaymar · 09/06/2021 10:18

Hi @babycakes3, I’m due on the 30th too! My nausea started gradually fading at 14 weeks and I felt much better by 16 weeks. I really feel for you, it’s a horrible thing to have to cope with every day.

Garman · 09/06/2021 10:59

@babycakes3 I'm due October 31st, I'm still feeling like shit too. It never went on this long in my 2 previous pregnancies, thought it was gone last week but now its back just as bad, so difficult to deal with constantly isn't it 😔

Cpr12 · 09/06/2021 12:03

@jessicakxx yes, at night I am so tight and massive. Like how do my friends I have known who have been pregnant never moaned about this haha! Although I feel huge, literally just sat after my vaccine and the nurse was shocked when I said I was pregnant. She kept saying how neat I was. So maybe I just feel like a whale haha! Although my darling husband comments on my fat ass daily 😂

Jaymar · 09/06/2021 16:08

@Cpr12 my darling husband has come out with a few belters too including ‘your belly is getting big and hairy’, ‘you’ve got an overhang’ and ‘whoa your nipples are massive’ BlushGrin I think he’s just excited about seeing it all progressing and blurts out his first thought.

jessicakxx · 09/06/2021 16:25

@Jaymar @Cpr12 glad it's not just my partner, who says all I think about lately is food...kinda true though I guess 😂

rtz22 · 09/06/2021 16:28

Hello guys 😊 I'm wondering if should I be climbing ladders in work. I'm an architect and have avoided site visits requiring access from a height due to covid as sites were closed for months. I'm now in a situation where a site visit is needed on Friday involving climbing a ladder to inspect a building facade from a flat roof. I didn't think twice about it, but should I be saying no? I am feeling good only have the occasional dizzy spell at 21 weeks. Should my employer not be risk assessing this? I work in Ireland, can't seem to find any info on working in construction while pregnant.. has anyone had a similar experience? It's my first pregnancy so I don't know if I'm being OTT or justifiably cautious. Where I work is a small office with 6 of us, we have no HR or maternity policy. Pretty sure I'm the first employee to be pregnant so they're clueless 🙄... thoughts?

Jaymar · 09/06/2021 17:05

@rtz22 I work in HR. Yes someone should do a risk assessment for you and I’d certainly not want a pregnant lady at my work going up and down ladders.

JGthistle · 09/06/2021 17:28

@rtz22 my job also involves going out to construction sites but on the client side. My risk assessment basically said I shouldn't be so I've not been going. The site manager also didn't want me there let alone climbing the scaffolding lol I was relieved as some of the sites have a lot of covid cases as well. I think you're being justifiably cautious 😌

rtz22 · 09/06/2021 17:38

Thanks ladies 😊 it's good to hear that I'm not being OTT! Appreciate it 😊 I will def say no.

Cpr12 · 09/06/2021 18:44

@rtz22 I work in hr too, and would not want anyone at my work doing this either.

@Jaymar @jessicakxx I have had the big nipples one too. And he shakes my belly all the time. I think it is just his way of being involved! I spend all day thinking about my next meal, but then I ate more than the average bear before pregnancy too! Thankfully for the most part it is healthy 😂

Rmka · 09/06/2021 19:17

I always loved food so that hasn't changed much in pregnancy (apart from the first trimester when I could hardly eat anything). But I can't go food shopping alone anymore, I just constantly grab extra stuff that look or smell good. Or if we eat out I order the biggest meals, and then pudding. And I get jealous of what other people eat if their meals smell nice. I didn't use to be like that Smile

jessicakxx · 09/06/2021 19:24

@Rmka @Cpr12 glad it's not just me then! I'm eating within my 1600 calories but I literally just think about what my next item of food will be 😂😂 also constantly thinking of something nice to drink, I miss wine! My partner also jiggled my belly earlier and I told him that it'd scare the baby 😂

Garman · 09/06/2021 19:25

There is no way I am eating under 1600 calories a day, but also no way I'm tracking them 😂😂

Rmka · 09/06/2021 19:32

@jessicakxx, I measure time with food Wink And I miss wine and beer so much. They both smell so good.
The problem with soft drinks is that most of them are sweet so not really a good replacement.

jessicakxx · 09/06/2021 19:39

@Garman it's only because I'm used to the amount that it is from previously trying to lose my lockdown weight pre pregnancy, which failed 😂 @Rmka agree re the sweetness, tend to stick with water or lime squash or orange juice with tonic water. Any drink inspo would be welcome!

Cpr12 · 09/06/2021 20:31

@jessicakxx @Rmka I only drink whisky and have been having a wee sniff of it every day like some sort of addict 😂😂 do you think it would be ok to take a wee hip flask to the birth…..asking for a friend haha!

@garman no way I am eating that much either 😂 but I figure so long as it is mostly healthy we are all good!

jessicakxx · 09/06/2021 20:36

@Cpr12 haha hip flask sounds ideal! I've also been sniffing my partners whiskey and rum, smells divine! Just think we've only got a few months left until we can have that well deserved drink! X

Rmka · 09/06/2021 20:58

@Cpr12, I sniff drinks too at every opportunity :D I didn't think I'd miss alcohol so much. Haha, hip flask sounds good, another pain relief option. Wink

@jessicakxx, I drink water or tonic, but also would love to try something different.

Garman · 09/06/2021 21:18

Non alcoholic mojitos hit the spot for me 😁
