@poodlepip

Hey guys thanks for the new thread and hi to the new joiners.

Anyone else feeling bloat fest at the moment? I have been sleeping in a padded bra too so much better with sore boobs!

Is the Facebook thing a group with lots of others? Does it have a name? Eek. I might also wait til scan.

Hope everyone is excited about being able to meet up a bit more soon and having lots of choc at Easter... Or monster munch. Whatever we want!

Ooooo roast beef monster munch....Shock may have to get myself one of those big grab bags of them tomorrow

milkyway91 · 26/03/2021 08:59

Morning, I've been meaning to join this group for a while but as a first time mum I think I still may be a bit overwhelmed. My DH and I are the first to conceive out of our friendship group so I'm using this group to know that how I'm feeling is 'normal'. Haha.

I'm 9+5 and my 12 week scan is on the 13th April. Not feeling anywhere near as sick as I was from weeks 6.5-8.5 so that's good news. Long may it continue! I do however resemble a slobbery dog with the amount of saliva I'm producing...if that's not related to pregnancy then pretend I never said that! Haha Blush

MF1981 · 26/03/2021 09:11

I thought the thread had gone quiet as I wasn’t getting notifications! Glad I found you all and I hope you don’t mind me re-joining. I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and still feel bleurgh most of the time. Started with some lower back ache as well now. Just under 2 weeks until the scan 🤞🏻. It all seems to be going so slowly! I turned 40 this week so at least that provided something of a distraction!

jellybean13419 · 26/03/2021 10:20

Hi @milkyway91 and congratulations on your pregnancy! Glad you're starting to feel better now. Those weeks you mentioned were the same bad weeks I had too. It's nice to be out the other side isn't it? I had excess saliva before I had a positive test and it got worse the same time the sickness started. But it has gone now completely, I'm 13 weeks today. So don't feel embarrassed, totally normal! Not long until your scan now either, so exciting 😊

jellybean13419 · 26/03/2021 10:22

@MF1981 happy birthday for earlier in the week! Sorry you're still feeling pants though 😣

jellybean13419 · 26/03/2021 10:23

Whoever mentioned monster munch.. I just got back from buying some 😂 a craving I didn't even know I had until someone mentioned them 😋

Jl2020 · 26/03/2021 10:30

Welcome and co granulation a to the new ladies :)
Had another awful nights sleep, would love even just one good nights sleep😂 i can definitely relate to excess saliva thing and also comes with a horrible taste in my mouth constantly which I think is quite common. Still no booking in appointment so going to call the midwife team again today I think as will be 10 weeks next week.
Does any anybody know if paracetamol are safe to take in pregnancy? Everything I read online is conflicting so wondering if anyone has been told by a midwife if it's ok? Have woke up full of a cold, sore throat and headache today 🙄
Would also love to join the Facebook group if possible.
Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Jl2020 · 26/03/2021 10:30

That was definitely meant to say congratulations in my previous post 😂

Kona84 · 26/03/2021 20:51

@Jl2020 I asked my midwife about paracetamol and she said it’s best to avoid everything.
I’ve had a cold since conceiving and the nasal congestion is really bugging me.
My partner is also having to nudge me in the night to stop me snoring.
I’ve just been drinking lots of water and trying to get to bed early

@Kona84 thankyou, guess I will just have to deal with it for now then, I did think it's probably best not to take anything iv just ate loads of fruit today in the hope that will help get rid of it. The blocked nose has got worse as then days gone on can't lay down and breathe through my nose and will probably also end up snoring tonight 😂

SECNAA · 26/03/2021 21:47

@Jl2020 my midwife told me I was fine to take paracetamol if I needed it.
Hope you feel better soon x

Moonpiecookie · 26/03/2021 22:11

Hi I am having my first baby and am terrified. Feeling full on with all the symptoms the last few weeks. Crisps are the only thing I fancy right now, glad its not just me!! Just had my scan this week for 12 weeks.

Jl2020 · 26/03/2021 22:14

@SECNAA thankyou :) will try avoid taking any for tonight and see how I feel tomorrow.. hopefully better! Seems like it's conflicting advice from midwives too so I guess it must be safe to take them but maybe best to try not to take them if you can help it x

Kona84 · 26/03/2021 22:50

Yeah everything I asked medication wise my midwife asked me to speak to my gp.
Prob just over cautious

@Kona84 Thank you for the new thread loveky!

Hello to the new ladies! Smile

@jellybean13419 Oh the insomnia! It's currently 5am and I've been up for an hour. face palm
I saw on SoftUK's Instagram this week that the Harmony tests will be available on NHS England in June 2021. A bit late for us but still great news.

@Drumstick1223 I'm glad your scan went well, cute picture and yeah for another one in a few weeks!

HappyVibesxo · 27/03/2021 05:28

@MyGrassIsBrowner My scan is on Tuesday too. Good luck. Sending you lots of positive vibes.

@MF1981 Happy birthday for earlier on in the week! Did you have a wonderful day?!

@Moonpiecookie How did your scan go?!

@Jl2020 My MW said Paracetamol is absolutely fine just don't take ibuprofen.

HappyVibesxo · 27/03/2021 05:32

That's just reminded me of a funny story. When I was in labour with DC1 (a loooong and slow but very painful labour) I asked for some pain relief and the MW said "Would you like some paracetamol" to which is replied "No I do not want some bloody Paracetamol, this is more than a bloody headaches, get me the good stuff!" 🙈🤣 I apologised once DS had been born. I'm usually very polite and worry a bit too much about what other people think but in labour oh hell no, it all gets said 🙈🤣

Jelliestogether · 27/03/2021 09:46

Definitely feeling the bloat. I was tiny with DD1 but I've got so much bloat already I genuinely look much further on!! I'll be 10w Sunday.

Still feeling really so much nausea. I'm hoping it goes soon. This pregnancy is so different to my first!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 27/03/2021 12:19

@HappyVibesxo Thank you! Same to you too. My appointment isn't until 3pm though so I'm gonna be pulling my hair out by then! 🙈

MF1981 · 27/03/2021 13:10

@HappyVibesxo thank you so much! I had a lovely day despite feeling sick for a lot of it 🤦‍♀️. Has anyone else noticed they’re really feeling the cold? Also I’ve got a banging headache today. I know I’m not drinking enough but everything I try makes me feel so sick.

HappyVibesxo · 27/03/2021 16:27

@MyGrassIsBrowner Mine is at 3:15pm 🤣

Cpr12 · 27/03/2021 17:30

Just found you all again :)

I am actually starting to feel a lot better, even thinking I could maybe cook a meal. So will possibly try tomorrow.

@jl2020 @kona84 I have been advised you can take paracetamol by midwife, doctor and obstetrician so it is defo safe. But I still only use it when I have to.

And feeling you all on the rubbish sleeping. I keep getting dead arms or aching elbows. It is driving me mad. The pregnancy pillow defo helps but still up half the night. Even the dog is sick of my constant tossing and turning haha!

Jl2020 · 27/03/2021 18:53

@HappyVibesxo what a funny story, paracetamol barely helps with a headache so can see why you wanted something strong in labour!!😂

@Cpr12 glad you're starting to feel better and thankyou if you have been advised by that many people it's safe then I'm sure it is :) I am feeling even worse today have not moved out of bed all day, haven't been ill with even a cold in over a year and it's hit me hard, I have some lemsip but realised after a quick search on google you can't take those so think I'm just gonna have to get on and deal with it lol

MustStopSnacking28 · 27/03/2021 19:25

@jellybean13419 thanks for the good wishes I absolutely do need to stop snacking, hence the name haha! I am due 12th October so hope all goes well. I would actually have the baby a week earlier though as I have to have an ELCS due to Crohn’s disease bowel scarring. Hope you’re doing OK, and everyone else too!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 27/03/2021 19:26

@HappyVibesxo oh jesus!! 🙈
