I'm probably one of the first to find out, as there are no other chats! Based off of last period I'm due December 2nd! Got my first positive early at 9dpo.
Anyone else with me yet???

@Kann88 sounds like there may be a set of twins somewhere in this group between us 🤣

Poptart90 · 23/03/2021 06:47

Ugh, I've been up since 4am with really achy hips. Not sure if it's pregnancy related or not, decided to Google and really shouldn't have 🙈🙈

Tabbycat92 · 23/03/2021 07:07

Anyone else developed the ol' pregnancy burger-nips? 😂 I'm sure this is earlier than I got them last time

lucea87 · 23/03/2021 07:38

@Tabbycat92 I thought this a few days ago 😂

Had my usually 5am wee, also a midnight one today. This is going to be fun 😂

Definitely get sickness in a morning here 🤮

What are you girls doing about caffeine? Sticking to less than 200mg or totally cutting out?

Tabbycat92 · 23/03/2021 07:42

@lucea87 I'm having the odd Cup, but sticking below 200mg. I've bought decaff tea, coffee and cola for the rest. Last time I cut it out entirely, and panicked if I drank it accidentally.

Hi everyone. Congratulations to you all 🌟

Would I possibly be able to join please?

I found out last week we are expecting our little rainbow baby after a mc at 7+4 weeks in December 2020. This will be our first baby and naturally things are feeling very worrying at the moment for me especially due to the mc, but trying to break things down into milestones and will book in some early scans to help reassure me. This was the first month we properly tried after the mc as everything was a little bit wonky and all over the place in January and February. I was convinced this wasn't the month for us so was so so surprised to see those two lines appear. I feel so lucky to have got this chance to be a mother again.

I'm still very early days as only 4 weeks at the moment but starting to get symptoms now with back ache, sore boobs, brain fog and a bit of nausea. But the symptoms currently are reassuring me that it is all real. Is anyone else finding they are also waking up super early too? I'm normally a snooze the alarm clock for as long as possible kinda girl and get as much time in bed as possible, but I've been waking up fully ready to go at between 3am-6am every morning and can't get back to sleep. I'm always in two minds about getting up so I don't wake my partner with me tossing and turning or get up and start the day, but am tip toe-ing about so I don't wake him. I'm feeling exhausted in the day though.

What are people's thoughts about telling their close family/close friends before the 12 week scan? Last time we didn't tell anyone, but this time I sort of want to tell a select few so if anything did happen again we'd have support. I think we'll wait until an early scan though, was thinking one at 8 and 10weeks.

Poptart90 · 23/03/2021 08:30

@PlantMummy87 congratulations! So sorry to hear about your MC, I've got everything crossed for you this time around 😘

I'm planning to tell a select few people, including telling my sister today! But I will probably wait untill we have a scan around 8-10 weeks to tell other family members. I'm also planning to not announce anything on SM untill a bit later in the pregnancy, my 3 year old has a genetic condition which we will screen this baby for, I want to know either way before we announce as I know that will be a question we get a lot.

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 08:38

@Tabbycat92 no burger nips here yet, but the sorest and heaviest boobs ever. Taking my bra off is 😩

@lucea87 aww bless you with your sickness, not nice for you.
I really don't drink any caffeine normally, so glad I don't have to try cut it down as must be hard for coffee drinkers etc. What about you?

@PlantMummy87 congratulations!
So sorry to hear about your precious mc, that must have been so hard.
I'm waking up earlier to pee but luckily it's only 5am onwards. What a shame you're waking at 3am sometimes 😲

We have an early scan booked for 9 weeks, as we plan on telling our family on our wedding day the following week. We had a huge wedding booked with 150+ but it got cancelled due to Covid, so this new wedding is only 12 of us, and only parents and siblings. It's going to be so special 🥰
I'm so so excited to tell them, but also trying to ground myself as anything could happen! x

Arthien · 23/03/2021 08:50

Hi @PlantMummy87 👋 Sorry to hear about your loss, fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time.

@Tabbycat92 I'm not sure I want to know the answer, but... burger nips??

sarby21 · 23/03/2021 09:05

@lucea87 I’ve been having 1-2 small half strength lattes a day as I was told that was fine! I’m a big coffee drinker so I think I would experience more symptoms from cutting it out completely! I drink herbal tea and no coke no the rest should be fine!

@PlantMummy87 Congrats on your positive test. My story is up above but we have very similar tales. I miscarried at 6 weeks in January 2021, got my period back in February and we tried again and I’ve gotten a positive on our first cycle back trying again but I’m very scared. I was in total shock when I took the test and it was positive!!! I am trying to manifest positive thoughts and not giving my time or energy into worry because it won’t change the outcome and I have no control over what happens. I’m just enjoying the opportunity to be a mom again like you. This would be our first too! My only symptoms so far are really bad bloating and slight nausea that goes in and out, very tired at night (opposite to me usually) and wake up at 5am without an alarm like others were saying (usually sleep through my alarm). I have also had to go to the bathroom to pee heaps. I am hoping and praying for us both that we have sticky pregnancies! Sounds like we are due right around the same time! How exciting!

I have a doctors appt tomorrow and once my HCG blood level is confirmed, we are going to tell our immediate family. We chose not to tell with the last pregnancy and then having to tell everyone about the miscarriage made it so much harder. That’s a personal choice for us though! I also may tell one person at work in case I’m sick as I’m in the office 24/7 at the moment and may need someone to cover for me if I’m constantly in the bathroom.

Wishing you all the best and can’t wait to chat with you more!

Tabbycat92 · 23/03/2021 09:15

Welcome @PlantMummy87 and congratulations 😊 so sorry to hear about your MC, let's keep. Our fingers and toes crossed that this is a nice sticky bean!

@Arthien 😂 burger nips are exactly what they sound like. The areola gets big and dark!

@PlantMummy87 Welcome and congratulations! I really hope everything goes smoothly for you this time round. I'm definitely with you on the wake-ups - I'm an early riser anyway but the past few days have been unreal...

I am going to tell one friend when I speak with them later this week, because I feel like I need a support outside of my husband on this one. I'll tell family and close friends after the scan we're planning to book at 8 weeks, assuming all goes well, and then everyone else once we're past 12 weeks.

Arthien · 23/03/2021 10:18

@Tabbycat92 more pregnancy glamour then 😂

I'm hoping to hold off telling until after an early scan (hopefully 8-9 weeks) but maybe 12 weeks if I can, depending on how I feel. My worry is that I've been sharing my TTC journey with a friend who's also been trying for a while. I hate the idea of lying to her but it also feels weird to tell her before my parents and in-laws. 😕

Arthien · 23/03/2021 10:29

Bit of a random one - does anyone take probiotics? I've been taking them to try and improve my IBS but I've just noticed the side of the pack says to check with a doctor before taking in pregnancy. Surely I can't just call my GP (or midwife when I get one) for something like this, can I? I'd end up calling all the time with all the random wonderings and things I'd need to double-check! Confused

queenatom · 23/03/2021 10:32

@Arthien, I definitely know what you mean about it feeling weird to tell friends before family. I have been very open with a couple of close friends about trying and the struggles we've had, whereas I haven't really discussed at all with my family, so friends are a lot more likely to ask about it (particularly as there's nothing else going on in any of our lives at the moment with all of these restrictions!) I spoke with a friend on Friday and found it quite difficult not being upfront with her, but given that she had just that week had a second early loss I really didn't feel it was an appropriate time. I'm trying not to think of it as lying, just waiting until I have more concrete evidence before I say anything!

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 11:20

@sarby21 @PlantMummy87 wishing you the stickest of beans! I'm already feeling anxiety about it, so can't even imagine what it must be like after a loss ♥️

@Arthien enjoy your burger nips when they come. More pregnancy glamour for us like you said! 🤣

Ps, when it comes to medication/vitamins I'm sure your GP would be more than happy to check with you ☺️

Tabbycat92 · 23/03/2021 11:34

@Arthien my GP wouldn't check for me as they're too busy. They advised to check with a pharmacist 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
queenatom · 23/03/2021 11:40

@Arthien Interested in the probiotic issue as I take them too. Everything I've read seems to suggest they should be, fwiw.

Arthien · 23/03/2021 11:46

My GP requires an 8am phone call for an appointment (took 117 redials to get through last time!) so I'd rather avoid that if I can, but pharmacist could work, I've got to pick up a prescription today anyway so could check then. Thanks ladies 😊

Is anyone else on constant knickerwatch? I'm trying to be pragmatic about what will be will be, but very time I go to the loo I'm expecting to see spotting or that my period has arrived later than normal and I've somehow imagined it all 🙈

Tabbycat92 · 23/03/2021 11:55

@Arthien me! Constantly having to check. I got halfway round asda last night doing the 'big-shop' and had to run to the loo to check. Sporadic heavy cm is to blame 😂☔

OP posts:
CCG92 · 23/03/2021 12:00

@Tabbycat92 @Arthien I spoke with my GP, but that's because it was a medication prescribed by them so maybe different.

I'm the same every time I go to the loo 🤣

Midwife clinic just phoned me and gave me my first appointment. 20th April and I should be 8+4 by then I think. Nervous!

queenatom · 23/03/2021 12:04

100% on knickerwatch. I'm peeing about 40 times a day as well so there's plenty of opportunities to check!

@CCG92 That's so exciting about your first appointment!

Arthien · 23/03/2021 12:15

@CCG92 that's so exciting! Makes it feel that bit more real 😁

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 12:36

@queenatom @Arthien very exciting! It is all starting to sink in a bit now!

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 15:44

Does anyone else feel like they can't concentrate on ANYTHING else?? I feel like it's all I can think about, and I'm totally distracted from my work 🤣
