I'm probably one of the first to find out, as there are no other chats! Based off of last period I'm due December 2nd! Got my first positive early at 9dpo.
Anyone else with me yet???

What is this "work" you speak of?? 😂 I'm trying to distract myself with it but it's not going well...Safe to say I'm grateful to be working from home at the moment!

lucea87 · 23/03/2021 16:07

@CCG92

Does anyone else feel like they can't concentrate on ANYTHING else?? I feel like it's all I can think about, and I'm totally distracted from my work 🤣
🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ 😂 I just want to tell everyone as well

I've had a bit of cramping most of the last week, on and off. A bit like af but less severe. Anyone else?

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 16:45

@Arthien I'm beginning not to know what it is either 🤣 Thankfully I'm working from home too. I think I'll be back to office soon though, and I'm really worried about that. I work with a very small team, and all men. So it's not going to be easy to hide if I get sickness/lots of peeing. 🤦🏻‍♀️

@lucea87 me too! 🤐 I'm also going to have to act drunk at my virtual hen party this weekend!! I know they are going to get me to shot tequila rose, so I have a bottle of strawberry milkshake ready 🤣 I get really bloated/subtle period cramping in the evenings. I think it's totally normal unless it gets painful xx

Poptart90 · 23/03/2021 16:45

@Arthien on knicker watch here too. I'm due af on Friday so part of me is scared that I'll just come on like normal 🙈

lucea87 · 23/03/2021 16:50

I had virtual leaving drinks for someone on Friday last week, I'd had a BFN on Friday but knew I might get BFP still so I bought in some alcohol free fizz and nobody batted an eyelid!
Arthien · 23/03/2021 16:53

@lucea87 yep mild on and off period style cramping here, less so today thankfully but the trapped wind pain more than makes up for it

@CCG92 would you be allowed to work from home once you've told them? I suspect I'll be encouraged to as I've not had the jab yet and my work is moving from permanent office based to flexi anyway.

@Poptart90 crossing fingers and toes that nothing changes for you and AF doesn't make an appearance on Friday. Turns out my key to getting pregnant was to buy a load of sanitary stuff on offer 😂

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 17:13

@lucea87 if it was someone else's party I don't think I'd be worried, but because it's my henny, I know eyes are going to be on me a lot 🤣 I'll have acting drunk mastered by the end!

@Arthien I'm not sure to be honest. I haven't have vaccine either which obviously they have to think about. The only thing is, our job is A LOT easier if we're in the office and together, so me staying at home wouldn't be very good. They may decide to do that though 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Poptart90 everything crossed for you. I'm sure it won't appear though ♥️

lucea87 · 23/03/2021 17:27

@Arthien I hear you 😂😂

@CCG92 hope you can get away with it!!

Have you guys told anyone yet?

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 18:45

@lucea87 me too! 🤣 I'm sure it'll be fine if I don't over think it.

Only my fiancé knows so far. Absolutely dying to tell my sister and my parents, but going to hold off as I want to surprise them on the wedding day 🤞🏼

What about you? How did you all tell your partners? 🥰

queenatom · 23/03/2021 18:54

@CCG92 I have no chill whatsoever so I burst into the bedroom at 6am holding the test and saying ‘it’s finally worked!’ 😂 He couldn’t even see the line because he was so bleary eyed. I don’t know how people who hold on and make big, grand announcements do it!

lucea87 · 23/03/2021 19:18

I'd been in the loo a while so my partner text me to ask if I was ok, I asked him to come down and then just threw the 4 tests I had done in his face saying it was positive and I couldn't believe it and burst into tears! He cried too! It was a special moment ❤️❤️

I'm dying to tell my sister and/or my parents too. Meeting up with them in a few weeks so might tell them then although I'll be on my own so not sure if that feels right but the next chance I'll get them all together will be the end of May (my sister lives 200 miles away). It'll be impossible for me not to tell them then I think 😂

It's so funny looking back on all the symptoms I had last week and how much I wouldn't let myself believe I was preggers even though all the signs were there. Even though we haven't been trying long I have wanted this for so so long!

PlantMummy87 · 23/03/2021 19:27

Thank you everyone for such a lot warm welcome 🥰

I've just booked a scan at 8 weeks, so a month away. Feeling like this is a positive milestone for me to work towards. Fingers crossed it all goes well and then we'll probably tell mine and my partner's parents. We didn't tell anyone last time and then I felt bad after the mc needing support. I told my older sister at the weekend, she lives nearby to me and is part of our bubble, don't think I could hide this exhaustion/nausea that I've been experiencing today from her. I also told my two yoga teachers, I've been going to their classes for years which are on zoom at the moment. Just want to make sure I'm not doing any poses that aren't good in pregnancy. Their responses were very positive and happy for me to carry on my already established practice with the necessary alterations where necessary.

@CCG92 that's so exciting about announcing to your close family on your wedding day. What a beautiful moment that will be 💕

@sarby21 I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's so hard once you've been through something like that to stay positive, but absolutely agree with you that channeling positivity is so important. Last month when we were ttc I was doing a meditation each evening, so going to try and continue that.

@Arthien absolutely checking my knickers every time I go to the bathroom. The fear is so real. TMI but I brought some white knickers at the weekend as had a distinct lack of white knickers, as thought it would be easier to see if there was any blood/spotting. I know it's probably a bit crazy of me but think after my experience in Dec just being a bit extra cautious and it's helped ease my mind a bit right now.

Arthien · 23/03/2021 19:34

@plantmummy87 funny you should mention white knickers, I freaked myself out with discharge on pink pants this morning 🙈

I told my DH by getting a little teddy that he bought me, showing it to him alongside the test and telling him that it was no longer the smallest being in our house ❤

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 19:41

@queenatom hahaha what a way to be woken up! Amazing!! 🤣

I gave my fiancé a wee baby grow that said "Hi daddy, I can't wait to meet you!" .... I'll never forget his face 🥺🥰

@lucea87 aww that's such a lovely moment too!
Maybe you should just tell them when you see them in a few weeks then so you can do it face to face. I think I might give in and tell my sister before the wedding. We are best friends and tell each other everything. She will definitely keep it quiet though for me.

@PlantMummy87 thank you. I can't wait! We are going to wait until the last group shot, and then tell them so that the photographer/videographer can catch the emotion 🥰

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 19:42

@Arthien oh my goodness, you just melted my heart!! ♥️

Arthien · 23/03/2021 19:49

Aww so many lovely stories! It's so nice when you get to see the realisation on their face 🥰

I left out the bit where he ruined my plan to surprise him in bed by getting up early, galumphing down the stairs with a mug in each hand (meaning I couldn't give him the test) and then asked me if I was going mad walking around the house carrying a small bear 😂

Arthien · 23/03/2021 19:50

@CCG92 the wedding photo plan sounds great, you should get an amazing pic to remember the moment ❤

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 19:59

@Arthien it still sounds adorable 🥰

Yeah I'll be amazing to catch the emotion on professional photographs. Makes me so glad we changed the wedding just parents and siblings as we would never have been able to do it otherwise!

Arthien · 23/03/2021 20:19

Has anyone used stretch mark cream before and can recommend? I've bought some cheap Palmers cream as a stop-gap to get started early as I've already got some (thanks to the stone I've put on since this time last year!) and I remember getting them really badly as a teenager. Is bio-oil any good, or something else?

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 20:22

@Arthien good question!! I'm waiting for the answer on this one 👏🏼

Poptart90 · 23/03/2021 20:27

I told my partner by me and our son taking the test up to him in bed and waking him up 🤣
I told my sister today, I put the test in a box and told her that I had something for her. She cried 🥰

I'm really struggling with hip pain today 😭 I had SPD with my first, but it wasn't untill much later in pregnancy, so I'm unsure if it's that or not? It seems far too early for that. Has anyone else had SPD?

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 20:38

@Poptart90 aww that must have be so lovely with your sister!! I'm finding it so hard to keep it hush from mine, we speak every day and are so close!

What a shame about your pain, hope it doesn't start for you earlier in this pregnancy 🥴

lucea87 · 23/03/2021 20:48

Ahh so many lovely stories ❤️❤️

You will get some great photos @CCG92 to treasure forever!

@Arthien I sell Tropic on the side and have see so many posts about products being used for stretch marks and also after birth for scaring so I'm going to give that a try. The Body Love moisturiser plus the Tamanu Balm and Elixir once it gets serious!

sarby21 · 23/03/2021 23:13

@CCG92 I feel so distracted from work!! I have been at the same place for 1.5 years but on temp contracts so I hope I get made permanent soon, as I want to access the paid maternity leave. I have put in an application for it so I have to make sure nobody finds out about my pregnancy!!! At the moment, I am in the office full-time.

I am working from home today because I have my first GP appt to take my bloods and check HCG levels. Please send positive vibes!!! Daffodil

CCG92 · 23/03/2021 23:46

@sarby21 sending all of the positive vibes your way! ☺️

Oh me, that's a bit stressful. Do you know when you'll find out if the application will be expected? Hopefully you won't get too many symptoms before you get made permanent 🤞🏼🤞🏼
