I'm probably one of the first to find out, as there are no other chats! Based off of last period I'm due December 2nd! Got my first positive early at 9dpo.
Anyone else with me yet???

Good morning and congratulations to you all . I believe I'm 4+2 today, and so glad I found you all to talk to. Does anyone else have 'cold' or 'allergy' type symptoms? I feel slightly nauseous in the evenings but I also suffer with emetophobia so it makes it 10x worse. I also get slight cramps low down but constant sneezing don't help.
When do you feel it's best to inform your workplace? I feel like I don't want to tell anyone, even family, until 12 weeks.

lucea87 · 07/04/2021 08:23

@TreeRoad I've had cramps on and off most of the time, not always sure if it's cramps or bowels though 😂 as my IBS has definitely flared. The last couple of days I've felt like I've done an ab work out as well so there's some stretching going on for sure!

Shazza86 · 07/04/2021 08:48

@TreeRoad yes I've had like a dull ache on and off since before I found out I was pregnant. I was adamant I was due to come on so was extremely shocked when I did the test only have looking and expecting it to be negative saw a positive result. I'm told its normal to have the cramps 🙂

Shazza86 · 07/04/2021 08:53

@lucy851 I'm not sure when to inform my work place either. I'm a key worker so I feel like I'm going to have to mention it pretty soon. Also I've had my first covid vaccine and meant to have my second one on the 27th April, I'm not sure if I should cancel that now and wait until after 12 weeks. I'm going to try and speak to my Dr on Friday, if I can speak to someone! 🙂

TreeRoad · 07/04/2021 08:54

@lucy851 congratulations on your news! I have had a cold for the last 4-5 days. Totally normal with early pregnancy. You're prone to little infections as your immune system drops in order to look after your baby.

I told my immediate manager and asked her to only tell who she has to. I did this yesterday at 5w0d, just to allow for any scans/appointments/risk assessments to be done.

@Shazza86 YES! 100% relatable 😂 My cramps feel exactly like pre-period ones. If I didn't know for sure, I'd say my period was coming any moment.

lucy851 · 07/04/2021 09:16

@Shazza86 yes that's what I was thinking, because of risk maybe should say sooner rather than later. yes I would try talk to them as I was wary about the vaccine, there is so much different information flying around!

@TreeRoad thank you! Oh so it might be here a while then, I'll prob be sent home from work at this rate. That's not a bad idea telling just my manager, I am in work next week, when I'll be 5 weeks too, so might have a quiet word if possible.

TreeRoad · 07/04/2021 10:00

@Shazza86 I'm a key worker too so that was part of the reason I mentioned it early.
Definitely double check about the vaccine; it's not routinely given to anyone who's pregnant but I'm sure your midwife can set you right.

Babycakes39 · 07/04/2021 11:17

I managed to speak to my GP yesterday as I have had the first vaccine. She said unless I was working in say a&e or ICU then I should cancel the second. I am a teaching assistant who works with medically vulnerable children. She said the first vaccine has still given me lots of protection so I fely happy to cancel it for now. Xx

jodielouise26 · 07/04/2021 11:33

@Babycakes39 sorry to jump in but this has just made me think 😬😬😬

I haven't had any vaccine ( I found out on my 1st appointment that I was pregnant so had to cancel it) then I had MC...

Now I'm currently working in A&E.. 5 weeks pregnant 🙄 not sure what to do.

Babycakes39 · 07/04/2021 11:37

@jodielouise26 congratulations on your pregnancy! oh that's a tough one for you! I'd ring your GP to discuss and see what they say? I guess it will be left to you to decide what you want to do but that doesn't make it any easier! Xxx

jodielouise26 · 07/04/2021 11:42

@Babycakes39 Thankyou ☺️

I've only got 2.5 weeks left in a&e then back to nicu so i hope I don't get covid in the next couple of weeks 😂

If I do end up getting it, I think if anything happens in this pregnancy I'll blame the vaccine 🥺

I'll ring the gp and see what they advise 😬

flowersatthecastle · 07/04/2021 11:45

I'd be interested to hear what feedback people get from their GP, etc about whether to have the vaccine or not. If you're happy to share any information when you have it please do Smile

TreeRoad · 07/04/2021 11:56

I was wondering where everyone is from? It's so strange to not know if you're interacting with people around the corner or hundreds of miles away.

Glasgow for me 🙋🏻‍♀️

Babycakes39 · 07/04/2021 12:16

I'm in Dorset! 🙋🏼‍♀️

wannabemum38 · 07/04/2021 12:24

@Shazza86 I had first vaccine in January then got covid in February. Was meant to have 2nd vaccine yesterday but cancelled as I'm only 5 weeks. Info I have read recommends unless you are at high risk of getting it or have underlying conditions etc they recommend not to have it until baby is born. I'm waiting for gp to.ring me next week to discuss it more and will ask midwife too when I get my appointment through x

LunaL0veg00d · 07/04/2021 12:27

Shazza86 · 07/04/2021 12:49

Thanks everyone for your replies, that's all really helpful. I don't mind feeding back to you all what the Dr says when I speak to them. I'm in the West Midlands 🙂

TreeRoad · 07/04/2021 13:16

Are you all taking bump progress photos? We did the first this morning and I can see my stomach is already rounding.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if twins pop up on my scan next week. 😂

Horehound · 07/04/2021 13:21

No way, I have a ouch if a tummy after my last so won't take a photo until j have a proper bump.

I have bought a pregnancy journal and then another one for the babies first year. Nice ones from Etsy :)

lucy851 · 07/04/2021 13:40

I'm in West Midlands Smile

TreeRoad · 07/04/2021 14:20

@Horehound I ordered one of those on Amazon last night. Good idea getting one for the baby's first year too!

Why isn't it December yet? 😂

chloed121 · 07/04/2021 14:23
