@Duesept21 Here's my little bump which is similar to yours! I wasn't expecting to show this early on but I think the hyperemisis made me lose weight so I was like a skeleton so its the only bit that is still round? I dont think I'd be showing if I hadn't been so sick! My bum is so flat now too 😩 your bump is so lovely 😍

@MrsMcNtobe I'm with you on being irrational! I still knicker check/toilet roll check for blood constantly! Not long to go until your scan yay! Tuesday will fly round. Is it in the morning? Ours is Friday and I'm getting major scanxiety now. Just keep going over everything in my head that could go wrong!

unicornpower · 07/03/2021 10:41

@Mamabearwhere ooooo donuts! Great choice! I had an amazing one when I had a 'good' day but then the sickness hit and i do not recommend throwing up a donut haha im going to walk the dog soon so I might pick up some cake on our way home Wink

Mamabearwhere · 07/03/2021 10:43

@KHR1 also the midwife reminded me that it’s only 200 more calories you need to eat per day which is really just an extra snack. But she said don’t worry in first trimester as your appetite is all over the place especially if you’re fatigued and aren’t moving much. Second trimester is when to be mindful because it’s when you feel good again and can eat normally. By third trimester you’re belly is quite big and stomach feels squashed and can’t eat much anyway. Atleast in my previous experiences. try to snack on fruit and veg if you can

@Mamabearwhere that's so true, it's nice to be excited about food again after so much nausea and sickness!

@Bubbles1st I've gone down 2lb since booking but my scales are rubbish so I could be totally wrong!

Kirky658 · 07/03/2021 11:06

Hey ladies thanks to @cheryllw for letting me know of the new thread!

So we announced on Facebook last night. I was so nervous that people would think that it was an accidental lockdown baby but everyone has been so lovely and supportive.

Is anyone else having arguments with their DH/DP? My mood swings are ridiculous, I keep losing my temper at DH over the smallest, stupidest things and he's just my sounding board. Truth is I'm scared. I don't know how I'm going to bring a baby up, how my life is going to work. I'm so so excited and can't wait to have our own child together but it's the reality of, oh crap, I'm actually having a baby...

Poppins2016 · 07/03/2021 11:13
@cherylLW mine was the right ovary too! Apparently this means it's a boy haha (pretty sure that's not a scientific fact)
Haha, I wonder who came up with that theory and why (seeing as sperm determines the sex)?!

I ovulated from my left ovary with my last pregnancy and got a boy!

This pregnancy was left ovary too... going by old wives tales/symptoms I reckon it could be a girl (slightly more nausea, my skin has broken out, etc) but who knows. We didn't find out the sex last time and we're not planning to this time... loved the surprise at the end!

Scotti84 · 07/03/2021 11:34

@Kirky658 yep im there with you! Worry about how its all going to work, how will we afford it, when should we buy what we need, will it all fit in the babys room, will we cope with less money etc etc and obviously he's also aware and worrying a bit but the poor blokes getting all my snappy worries. I apologised to him yesterday for being a batch and he said he understands and doesn't take it personally which is so good of him.

We want to know the sex so we can be prepared with a name, plus im too nosy.

The question I hate atm is 'are you showing yet?' I don't bloody know whats baby, what's bloat and what's just my chubby belly, makes me feel like if I say no they'll be like oh but you should be or something. I just don't find it helpful

Noodles4Me · 07/03/2021 11:45

Jealous you've all lost weight. But I know I am lucky, no nausea, no food aversion and I'm not remotely hormonal either. I do have unbelievable boobs though...so heavy I'm thinking of doing some back weights in the gym to support them. Shock

When are people going to get the pregnancy pillow? I can only sleep on my front which is pretty tough now so need to try train myself to sleep on side.

Bubbles1st · 07/03/2021 11:50

@Scotti84 oh no one had asked if I'm showing yet but nearly everyone has asked - was is planned? Which I'm finding really bloody rude!!

crobo87 · 07/03/2021 11:56

I already have a pregnancy pillow, I used it before pregnancy for a hip problem so will continue to use it. I love it
Mamabearwhere · 07/03/2021 12:04

@Noodles4Me I ordered mine this morning after I woke up again feeling numb across my hips. Got it from Amazon so hopefully be here tomorrow. I was going to wait until my 12 weeks can tomorrow so not to jinx things but just need some comfortable sleep!

@scotti84 I'm glad it isn't just me lovely ❤️ I think dealing with all these mental changes in our bodies as well as the implications of the future it's such a lot to deal with. Haha I'm the same, pretty sure my 'bump' is constipation and bloating related but who knows!

Mamabearwhere · 07/03/2021 13:18

@Bubbles1st I too find this question quite rude. I don’t know why people ask this. I also find it rude when people ask “do you want anymore?” before you’ve even had the one you’re carrying!

Hi girls, regarding bumps, mine was huge initially - I looked about 4 months when I wasn't even 3 months. Every week it's been getting slightly smaller so I definitely think it's the bloat subsiding.

@MrsMcNtobe we're scan twins! I'm absolutely bricking it 😬 I'm planning to be super busy today and tomorrow to distract myself. Mine's also in the morning.

unicornpower · 07/03/2021 15:33

@Poppins2016 haha I know right! My dad told me about the right ovary = boy but It's def just an old wives tale that must date way back if my dads heard of it haha I love reading all the whacky theories about what gets you a boy/girl. My MIL swears its a girl as I had such bad sickness but my friend had horrendous sickness and it was a boy so who can tell!

CherylLW · 07/03/2021 15:43

@Mamabearwhere I’ve got a list of girl and boy names, I think it’s going to be hard to decide! My next scan (private) is 27th March as my 20 week with the nhs isn’t until April 16th and I couldn’t wait that long!

@MrsMcNtobe don’t do it! Stay strong xx

CherylLW · 07/03/2021 15:43

@Kirky658 hope you found this one ok xx

Mamabearwhere · 07/03/2021 16:05

@CherylLW we agreed on a girl name this morning yay! We decided this time we won’t tell anyone the name until baby is born. Last two times when I mentioned our names to my mum or sisters they’d make a comment about the names and I felt it put me off. But once they saw the baby they loved the name we had chosen. This time I don’t want any negative feelings so we’re keeping a secret even from my mum until baby is here ❤️

@cheryllw I did thanks lovely 😍

My next scan is 28th April, for my 20 week scan. Feels like forever away but I know when Easter comes round it won't be that long so I'm trying not to pay for a private scan... See if DH will treat me hehe xx

SP2Bx · 07/03/2021 16:08

@MrsMcNtobe That’s so interesting - I’m having the spotting every month when my period should be but thankfully no pains or cramps! Hoping it stops soon though 😩

@Kirky658 It’s a very unsettling time. I’m definitely more concerned about money than the OH is, but I guess that’s because I’m the one who’s not going to have any!! Hopefully he’s being understanding that it’s the hormones talking, they’ll settle ❤️

As for bumps/weight... I’ve definitely got a bump coming on but could probably pass for bloating at the moment (even though I know it’s not). Weight wise I don’t think I’ve gained or lost really, maybe a lb or 2 but I fluctuate at the best of times. I’m eating crap and snacking more but my actual meals must be half the size of what I used to eat so it must be balancing out!

SP2Bx · 07/03/2021 16:09

@Mamabearwhere No name mentioning for us either - NO WAY. I do not need other people’s “opinions” on that!!!

AdventuresAwait · 07/03/2021 16:27

@Noodles4Me, I got a pillow a few weeks ago and would really recommend one.. I find it so comfy!

RadDarwazeh · 07/03/2021 17:22

@AdventuresAwait which pillow brand did you go for hun

Duesept21 · 07/03/2021 17:25

Thanks for all the nice bump comments. I was worrying that I was really big as I didn't expect to show this early on.

@Noodles4Me I am using my pregnancy pillow already, have been for about the past week as I just can't get comfortable in bed but even with it, I'm not sleeping well.

AdventuresAwait · 07/03/2021 18:35

Hi @RadDarwazeh, it is a Niimo pregnancy pillow. I find it really comfortable and it has helped me sleep better Smile
