Feel the same way about the tiredness. By 5 I'm knocked out! Energy levels have perked up these past 2 days though. Anyone wish they could fast-forward time? 😆

bewitchingnight · 06/03/2021 17:25

@unicornpower @CherylLW mine was the right one too! I had no idea they could tell that from a scan, so interesting!

Also yes to McDonalds after a scan, 3am anxiety and tiredness all day long!

MrsMcNtobe · 06/03/2021 17:33

I’m so glad everyone is in the same boat with twinges etc, I try not to worry.. I guess the only time to panic is if they became painful/unbearable and there was any bleeding etc. Always good to know most of us are feeling the same ❤️

crobo87 · 06/03/2021 17:37

Hi everyone! I'm 11/12 weeks pregnant and due sometime around 18th Sept. had an early scan after bleeding and baby & heartbeat were seen, bleeding has since stopped,

So anxious for my next scan though on 16th. Most of my symptoms have gone, except the tiredness which I know is common at this stage!

Hope everyone is keeping & feeling well xx

CherylLW · 06/03/2021 17:39

@bewitchingnight it is strange they can see that in a scan isn’t it! I never really get pains from my left.

@unicornpower I love looking at theories of if it’s a girl or boy! There is a thread on here where someone makes guesses from 12 week scan pics, they said they have good results! I find out on the 27th...hopefully!!

Mamabearwhere · 06/03/2021 17:43

@CherylLW they told me mine was from my right ovary too! I wonder if the theory of it being a boy is true. We have a boy name picked out but undecided on girl so that would simplify life haha

@MrsMcNtobe yes, lots of sharp twinges! Lightning crotch or fanny daggers as they’re called! 😅 around the beginning of the 2nd trimester, the uterus pulls up out of the pelvic region (as I recall) and that causes all sorts of weird and wonderful tugs and twinges.

@Mamabearwhere you’ve literally just described my daily routine at the moment whilst not working! Lying on the couch watching DD play and using the TV as major distraction! I’m sure as we get into the second trimester it will get better, I remember I was about 17 weeks last time when I started to feel that golden pregnancy glow - sickness went, got my energy and appetite back, it was great!

Squibble84 · 06/03/2021 18:02

@unicornpower I also get the pains when I stand up quickly! Yeah the second trimester was so much better last pregnancy, for a few months at least until the waddle and hip pain set in!

AdventuresAwait · 06/03/2021 18:20

@mamabearwhere, we are the other way around.. we are set for a girls name but not for a boy! Lots of people are guessing (boy and girl guesses) and I don't mind, but I just really want to know! Booked a gender scan for 17 weeks.

leftitlate37 · 06/03/2021 19:01

thanks for the new thread! hope everyones ok twinges etc aside! got our date for 20 week scan thru next month?! eeeek, want it to come round but at same time, really dont as we should probably start thinking about stuff!!

SP2Bx · 06/03/2021 21:05

I think them being able to tell which ovary it was is because of something called the “Corpus Luteum” which is a mass of cells which forms after an egg is released and fertilised, and produces the hormones to support the pregnancy before the placenta takes over 🤓 lol. On my early scan they never mentioned it but it said “collapsing corpus luteum seen in left ovary” on my notes so I googled it when I got home!

Does that mean if it’s left it’s a girl? 😉 I genuinely have no preference, we have names for each and won’t be finding out 🙂

crobo87 · 06/03/2021 21:08

When I had an early scan they said they could see the corpus lotum (or whatever it is lol) on my left ovary xx

Duesept21 · 06/03/2021 21:13

I know on the previous post people were sharing their bump pics so here's mine. I'm 11+4 and wasn't this size until about 18 weeks last time!!
I am also having lots of twinges in the past week or so. Scan is on Thursday and I just can't wait to see baby and check all is well (and check there's just one in there!)
Still feeling horrendous everyday and sticking to my very short list of safe foods - no hot meals although I really miss them Sad
Currently getting a new kitchen which is making me so stressed as nothing is going to plan so I'm just trying to stay out of it as much as possible and let my partner deal with the company and fitters.

September 2021 thread 3 🥳
Beardy91 · 07/03/2021 00:21

Hi All, I am due on 11th September, so 13 weeks :) with 2nd baby. I just wanted to get people's thoughts, on going to the loo I noticed some mucus in my knickers, and when I wiped there was a 1cm blob which was yellow in colour, it looked a little like it could be mucus plug, but it definitely had an odour. I have had some lower back pains but they're not terrible and I have been on a long walk which included having to carry a crying toddler for a few minutes. Jas anyone had anything similar?

MrsMcNtobe · 07/03/2021 07:47

@Beardy91 I haven’t personally but would definitely tell you to ring midwife for some advice just to be safe x

MrsMcNtobe · 07/03/2021 08:10

I’ve woken up with the urge to buy a pregnancy test... at 12+2 😂 and I feel like I’m going to go and buy one and it’s somehow going to put even more stress and worry into my head. Whyyyy do we do this?!

Squibble84 · 07/03/2021 08:26

@Duesept21 lovely bump pic! Good luck for your scan on Thursday!

@Beardy91 I would call your midwife and see what their advice is. As I recall from somebody who had this happen in my last pregnancy group, mucus plugs can grow back? (I think!)

@MrsMcNtobe your hcg will likely be so high at 12 weeks that the test wouldn’t work and then you’ll just worry more! The test can’t cope if levels are too high and 12 weeks is when they peak! (On average) When’s your scan?

MrsMcNtobe · 07/03/2021 08:50

@Squibble84 my scan is on Tuesday morning so I’m being 100% irrational 😂😂

SP2Bx · 07/03/2021 09:32

Yeah don’t do it @MrsMcNtobe ! Realistically what will it achieve? Probably just more stress. I’m having a bit of spotting again this week (seems to happen everytime my period would be due), and am due my 12 wk scan date through any day, and whilst I could try and push for a scan now to make sure everything is OK, like my OH said - what difference will it make? Not like we can do anything about it at this stage so, we’ve just got to stay positive, especially since everything was fine last time :) It’s so hard, but Tuesday is SO CLOSE! You can do it! 🙌🏼

@Duesept21 Cute bump! ☺️

MrsMcNtobe · 07/03/2021 09:49

@SP2Bx my friend had really bad cramping, backache and spotting every month her period was due most of the way through her pregnancy and her little boy is 18 months now! We need to keep remembering that there’s no point in stressing over things we can’t change 💗💗

Scotti84 · 07/03/2021 10:08

@Beardy91 I've had something similar, tmi alert... I've been pretty constipated the last couple of months and when I can go it takes a bit of time and erm, effort and sometimes I find a small blob like you described, I worried to hell but had my scan the day after so waited and everything was fine. I'm in the mindset now of trying not to read into everything that happens cos there's so much weird stuff id drive myself mad, I do still worry between scans, next one at 17 weeks at end of this month, but I think I will worry until I have a huge moving bump.

Anyone suffering leg cramps at night? They wake me up and last a while, the next day it feels like I've done a 5 hr treadmill run with no warming up! Only way I can stop it is by sleeping on my back with leg on a pillow but I'm trying to avoid that.

Mamabearwhere · 07/03/2021 10:22

I’ve woke up with a really intense craving for donuts this morning so I’ve just ordered some on Uber eats. My first official crazy pregnancy craving Grin

OP posts:
KHR1 · 07/03/2021 10:30

@Mamabearwhere I've had insane cravings for heinz tomato soup for the last few days!

Bubbles1st · 07/03/2021 10:31

What is everyone's weight gain like if any at all?

With a high BMI the margin for what I 'should' gain is quite small. I haven't had any nausea or sickness but my appetite has been affected.

So far I've gained 3lbs I'm 13 + 2.

I really don't want to carry anymore excess weight than I already have.

This is my first so I'm unsure but When is the peak time for when genuine pregnancy weight is gained? I just want to be really careful and keep an eye so I don't stress too much but also avoid any extra physical stress on my body.

Mamabearwhere · 07/03/2021 10:39

@KHR1 it’s just nice to have a craving for something finally after hating everything for so long whether it’s Heinz soup or donuts 🤣

@Bubbles1st I went on the scales yesterday morning and weight 2kg more than I did when I found out. I guess I expected some gain given the only thing I’ve been able to eat is bread or pasta. And now donuts 🙈
