@Bigdreamer9 that's a lovely scan! Congratulations on the results! I wonder how the NIPT test can tell the sex so early on. Is it through a blood test? Excuse my ignorance! 😃

@Taybz Thankyou! I’ve posted the one from when I back for the NIPT retest as today’s ones aren’t very clear atall, although we did actually see the fingers on the screen!

The NIPT tells you the gender from your blood work as it looks at the fetal DNA so they can tell pretty early.

Sorry to hear your partner isn’t allowed in the scan, it’s awful some places allow it and some don’t.

@bigdreamer9 lovely pic, glad all was well! Our little wriggle wouldn't cooperate for the NT measurement but they got a decent one originally lol. Glad your results come back OK too that must be a huge relief. Xx

Good luck to everyone with their upcoming scans! It's such a nerve wracking wait!

Unfortunately my DH couldn't come to my 12 week scan and had to leave the ward to text him all was okay. He's sooo excited for the 20 week scan he keeps asking when is it going to be!

@Bigdreamer9 congratulations on your scan and your baby boy news! I'm so excited to find out what I'm having. I have a feeling I'm having a boy but DP has two boys already and I think it would be nice for him to have a girl this time

I just finished my scan ladies! Everything went really well and baby was dancing away. She also said she thinks it’s a boy! So many of us having boys so far 💙

@Mamabearwhere you’re right I think I’ve seen mostly boys who’ve found out so far. It’s mad, way more than 50%

@Mamabearwhere that’s great news! How long were you there for? I’ve heard our hospital categorically don’t like discussing the sex regardless of whether it’s your 12 week, 20 week or any other scan so we will defo need to book private

@MrsMcNtobe why won't your hospital discuss sex of the baby? I can't wait to find out and am definitely going to ask tomorrow if they can at least take an informed guess 😆 ps, how are feeling? Only a sleep away from tomorrow's scan!

@Mamabearwhere congratulations on your scan and finding out it’s a boy! So many of us now with boys! My family are cursed every baby post 2001 have been boys no one has broken the spell yet we might set up a football team or boy band! X

@2021mumma haha wow that’s so cool! We’ve kind of been he opposite with lots of girls in the family so this will be the first boy, super exciting. I can’t wait to tell my kids soon now that scan went fine. Just need to think of a fun way to tell them. If anyone has ideas please share!!

@MrsMcNtobe the actual scan was only about 20 minutes max but I had to wait ages to be seen. All together in and out in an hour. They also took the combined screening blood work which I just got the results back for and says low risk so that’s positive news too

@Bigdreamer9 congrats on your scan! That must have been a big relief getting the all clear on the nipt finally!

Our nipt results finally came today after the longest week of my life! All trisomies are super low risk thank god! I’m still slightly worried about the low Papp-a and hcg but will mention that to the consultant when I see her.

Has anyone had the flu jab? Not sure whether it’s too late to get it at the gp as flu season is pretty much over!

@Mamabearwhere missed your post, congrats on the scan! And how exciting that you got a sneak peak at the gender!

@Squibble84 I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago. I managed to book online at a Boots near me. I wasn't entirely convinced I needed it due to the time of year, but my midwife recommended it and I've read that it protects baby from flu for around 6 months after birth, so I just had it. Achy arm, but that was it. Looks like you can still book online with Boots if you're in the UK

@Squibble84 I had mine done in boots a couple of weeks ago, the pharmacist said the flu jab season starts in august so I could get an updated one before the baby comes as well.

@Taybz apparently it’s something to do with the fact they might be wrong 🤨😂 I’ve been keeping busy tonight, had a shower etc just trying to make the night go quicker. Partner is away out to find me an ice blast or slushy cos I can’t get enough of them 😂 how you feeling?

@Squibble84 My GP surgery got me in for the flu jab on the same day after my midwife advised I get it, super quick and easy and no adverse affects and at least baby will get the benefit 🙂

Anyone having dry skin issues? My face is so dry and flaky, any good skin creams anyone knows of?
