@sp2bx I had the same. Thing with my downs syndrome. Results a couple of. Weeks ago, it came back 1 in 2700 and I was so shocked. Just trying to put to the back of my mind now as it won't change the outcome. For us. Xx

Scotti84 · 23/03/2021 19:12

Thanks everyone!

Just had my McDonald's too to celebrate 😂

Hopefulmummie · 23/03/2021 19:53

Congrats @scotti84 that's the 1st girl I've heard off in a long time. Anyone I know who have had babies or found out genders recently is all boys!

Is anyone else finding out the gender soon? We have a scan booked for 8th april I can't wait. Convinced it's a boy

CherylLW · 23/03/2021 20:02

@Hopefulmummie mine is this Saturday and I can not wait!!! 💗💙 everyone is convinced it’s a girl!

Hopefulmummie · 23/03/2021 20:06

@CherylLW so exciting!! I'd be very surprised if ours was a girl

CherylLW · 23/03/2021 20:08

@Squibble84 thanks for posting that link about the kicks... really reassuring x

KHR1 · 23/03/2021 20:12

@Squibble84 thanks for posting that link, it was really helpful! I was starting to worry as I had a busy hour of fluttering last Friday morning but have had a few days of only one or two... That article has made me feel much better about it!

AdventuresAwait · 23/03/2021 20:44

@Hopefulmummie, yes our gender scan is the 2nd April. I think we're having a girl!

AdventuresAwait · 23/03/2021 20:47

Ahh that's great @Scotti84! Xx

AdventuresAwait · 23/03/2021 20:54

Great article @Squibble84. Thanks.

Interesting that in our area, the midwives recommend the app Kicks Count to record baby movements. Anyone else?

Alsh · 24/03/2021 10:16

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well!

Has anyone booked antenatal classes yet? It's my first pregnancy so I'm not sure if an online class is as good as an in-person class. I'm a bit paranoid of Covid-19 so I'm thinking of doing online ( NCT in July) instead. Any opinion or suggestions about this? 🤗

AdventuresAwait · 24/03/2021 10:47

Hi @Alsh, I've signed up to a days online Antenatal class through the Baby Academy UK. I did a 2 hour free webinar with them on Saturday and it was so good I booked the full day that you pay for.
In person classes may start before Sep and I might do those but thought I'd book this incase! Really looking forward to it.

Sceptre86 · 24/03/2021 11:17

Congrats @Scotti84! What lovely news. We aren't planning on finding out the gender as this is likely to be our last baby but I keep obsessing over the scans to see if I can make an educated guess.
@Raem1 glad your 16 week appointment went well, mine is on Friday morning.
My cravings were anything salty or pickled previously but have calmed down a lot now.
Has anyone started buying bits for the baby?

Bubbles1st · 24/03/2021 11:25

@Sceptre86 still not buying anything here. Trying to wait for 20 weeks scan but getting increasingly tempted. I can't wait to find out what we are having but DP doesn't want a private scan despite my pleading 🤣

My 16 week midwife app isn't until I'm 18 + 3 (I'm 16 weeks on Friday) which is just making the time drag but definitely still going faster now than first 12 weeks.

AdventuresAwait · 24/03/2021 11:32

@Sceptre86, I have mine Friday morning too!

And yes, have bought lots for the baby! 😊 Most things apart from clothes.

Alsh · 24/03/2021 11:33

Thanks @AdventuresAwait 🤗 I've checked their website and their whole day session looks really good - they have baby first aid as well which is one of the important things I want to learn before the baby comes. NCT doesn't include first aid on their classes. Yea there are choices for in-person on NCT for Sept-oct due dates. I think classes starts around late july or early august. They keep saying that need to book soon as it could get sold out pretty quick. 😨

Kirky658 · 24/03/2021 11:50

@sceptre86 we plan to find out our gender, scan is 28th April dead on 20 weeks! We haven't stated buying anything yet, still a bit nervous. Might get a couple of babygros once the shops reopen but wanting to wait till we know all is OK at the 20 week scan.

We are however decorating the nursery in the Easter break ❤️

CherylLW · 24/03/2021 11:58

@AdventuresAwait thanks for the info about Baby Academy UK! I’ve just signed up for the free ones they have for antenatal and breastfeeding!

Mamabearwhere · 24/03/2021 12:43

@Scotti84 ah congrats on finding out baby is a girl! That’s def the first confirmed on the sept 2021 thread.

I just found out I’m definitely having a boy after so many different “educated guesses” and a wrong nun tech test who predicted a girl haha. So exciting I can finally start boy clothes shopping!

Nub tech*

OP posts:
AdventuresAwait · 24/03/2021 12:52

Ahh congratulations on finding out @Mamabearwhere! So Nub Tech got it wrong?! Their 95% confidence was making me more sure on mine so now I'm wondering 🤣

@CherylLW, I really enjoyed the free one I did and you've just reminded me about signing up to the breastfeeding one! Oh and I forgot to say @Alsh, that after the free one we got a code for money off the full day so it might be worth checking out those first.

I know I'm in the minority having bought things but my job is coming to an end soon so we wanted to get things while we have 2 incomes (and I'm not good at saving the money and then shopping!). I know it's a risk before 20 weeks but we felt it was best for us personally.

Scotti84 · 24/03/2021 12:57

@Mamabearwhere thanks and congrats on your boy!

I've not started buying yet, mostly because all our shops are still closed (in germany) and I'm hesitant to buy online without at least going to have a look in person first.

I'm planning the decoration for babys room though, I'm not going full on pink but knowing it's a girl has kind of pushed me in another direction regarding bedding and things. I'm glad we found out. OHs sister has two girls already so a boy would have been nice for his parents but on the other side they will hopefully be friends, the youngest is only 3 so not too big of an age difference.

On a craving note I'm still on sweet stuff and citrusy things! Im ok with that

leftitlate37 · 24/03/2021 12:58

Ah congrats on more boys!!! Weve caved and booked a reassurance scan for sat and will hopefully find out if boy or girl! No idea from our 12 wk scan, looks like legs are blocking any view of anything!! Looks like more girls needed to balance out the ratio at the mo :)
We haven't bought anything yet....think still 2 clueless to know what we need. But after reading all these threads will check out some of the course u have suggested, sounds useful!
Still can't quite believe this is real, other than feeling really porky with itchy big ( for me!) boobs...!

Mamabearwhere · 24/03/2021 12:59

@AdventuresAwait yup they got it wrong. They predicted 85% girl. To be fair the sonographers at various scans also said how unsure they are. So different to my girls where they were certain on gender at 12 week scan.

OP posts:
Geegee20 · 24/03/2021 13:21

Hey ladies. Had my scan yesterday. Am a week ahead of what I thought i was, am 14 weeks. I'm almost 90% certain I seen a willy 😂 she went I between the bays legs an am so sure there was something there. Booked a gender scan for 10th. So excited to start shopping.
