@Waitingforbabypage oh bless you. I’m not feeling great mentally at the moment either. I had a little meltdown last night. I just feel so lonely and isolated. I don’t have any friends with kids, so I worry that I’ll be left behind once baby is here. I’m not with the baby’s dad and I keep thinking about how he can carry on with his life as normal for now, whilst I’m feeling so isolated and I’m in pain with PGP, struggling to sleep, stressing about all sorts. It’s a tough time! I’m hoping the longer days, warmer days and being able to do a bit more soon will help. Just feel like I’ve got a wee case of the blues! Blush

@swiftt ah bless your heart. It's so hard isn't it?
I have support at home, I can't fault my OH at all but he's at work all day so out of the house 7-5. So I spend much of my time on my own with my own thoughts which is never a good thing. This lockdown has really gotten me down. The first one was much better with the lovely sunshine and being able to just sit in the garden. Hopefully those days aren't too far away hey?
I think the pains have a lot to answer for. I'm on day 6 of a headache and I'm quite bored of it now. I've piled on the weight because I'm still needing to eat little and often but can't move enough to offset my snacks. The added weight adds to the pain in the hips and pelvis. Vicious cycle.

Nesski · 09/04/2021 13:59

@swiftt have you managed to get yourself onto any NCT/Antenatal classes? All online now, I had my first private one on Wednesday, it was a group of 6 couples and a lady who is using a sperm donor (queen) so nice and small.

I also had a meet up with some girlfriends, the four of us are due within a month of eachother so it was a lovely catch up, and also had some friends over, had a strong firepit going through the night! The group of friends are either single / not having children and it was just so nice talking to them f2f!

Nesski · 09/04/2021 14:00

And yes @pookypup can't lift my head up with anything less than 8 hours sleep. Not quite as bad as first trimester but definitely going to get worse as the quality of undisturbed sleep continues to drop

swiftt · 09/04/2021 14:46

@Waitingforbabypage must be tough having your OH out all day, especially with how limited you are in being able to do much at the moment. Definitely feel like things will get better soon. Warm days in the garden cheer everyone up!

I weighed myself this morning and I’ve put on 2 stone, so that’s made me feel eeeeeven better... Blush

@Nesski I looked at NCT but there’s nothing in my area. I’m doing a few antenatal classes arranged through my health board on the next few weeks, and also a local breastfeeding group one too. I think I’m just feeling a bit resentful of friends with boyfriends planning amazing trips etc. I know it’s daft because I shouldn’t be jealous, but just makes me panic a little bit about how much my life is about to change. Third trimester hormones are hitting me so badly right now! Blush

@swiftt I know what you mean by panicking, I don't think reality has set in with what I'm getting myself into. I was bookmarking all the places I want to eat in Soho and then some of the nicer places in Fitzrovia.... then I see the nicer places say 'adults only'... Oh man, didn't even get the chance to go there before the baby comes...

BlondePotter · 11/04/2021 09:02

My DH went round friend's garden last night, and at midnight was ringing the doorbell, showing me his bleeding hand where he fell over before stripping naked and passing out...
What are the odds he grows out of this behaviour once baby is here? I'm thinking slim 🤦🏼‍♀️

Sitchervice · 11/04/2021 11:43

@Nesski before covid my husband and I had booked to go to an adult only hotel on cyprus. Then covid hit so we moved our holiday twice. We were ment to go in March this year as our second move. Then that got cancelled. It was just never ment to be.
😩

Hello, I am new here and was wondering if I would be allowed to tag along in this thread :) I'm 31 weeks with my second who is currently kicking the life out of me!! Its very lonely this time round with out baby groups etc. Hope you don't mind me butting in x

Nesski · 11/04/2021 15:30

@BlondePotter ahhh I would let him get everything out of his system now rather than in August Grin. Just make sure you are entirely unsympathetic and you want the full story of how he got to that stage!!

BlondePotter · 11/04/2021 17:28

@teaformummy you're very welcome to butt in!
I'm getting a major kicking today as well haha, and have a bad stitch feeling in my rib but could be a foot, who knows 🤣

Nesski · 11/04/2021 19:40

@teaformummy it's my first so I don't know what baby groups I'm missing out on! I had my first antenatal class on Wednesday and really can imagine how much better it would have been in person!

teaformummy · 11/04/2021 20:00

@blondepotter thank you :) the ribs do take a beating lol
@nesski hope you found the antenatal class useful! it would be so good to get to a mums & bumps group even just to get out of the house (and eat some cake lol)

Good Morning ☺️.

Is anyone experiencing headaches? I’ve never been a headache sufferer and didn’t have it in 1st pregnancy. This week I’ve had 3, like dull ache ones, I’ve had BP checked and urine last week, all seemed fine :)

Just wondered if some people are having headaches also, like hormone / pregnancy related.

I’m aware of the pre-eclampsia symptoms and apart from a headache, which will subside with pain relief, I don’t have any other symptoms x

MelissaAnn92 · 12/04/2021 09:36

@AlRRRR me! A lot of of things like sickly ness and head aches have came upon me (29 weeks). Once I'm up and had some water and fresh air they go but I'm constantly feeling hung over and groggy. It's fab isn't it? Xx

AlRRRR · 12/04/2021 09:46

@MelissaAnn92 Thanks for your reply!!

I’m also 29 weeks and this has started happening in the past 10 days, I think because I’m not used to feeling what headaches ‘feel’ like, I was curious if this is a pregnant woman thing, I did ask the midwife and she just said to look out for other Pre-eclampsia symptoms, which I don’t have!

Now you mention it, I do feel like it’s lifted a little as I’ve walked the school run and eaten/ drank water. I did wonder if I’m Iron deficient as I was last time, but my bloods are taking ageeeees to come
back so don’t yet know! x

Penny2020 · 12/04/2021 14:14

Can I ask when everyone is taking maternity leave? I decided to go up to 38 weeks but I’m 33 weeks and I am massively struggling with motivation. I’m working from home as well so I have no excuse. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve had a couple of weeks of really bad sleep and bump is starting to be really uncomfortable and all I want to do today is nap but instead in back to back zoom meetings. I think I’m just in a bit of a grump today.

AlRRRR · 12/04/2021 14:24

I'm taking mine from 1st June when I'll be 37 weeks :)

Tatty1987 · 12/04/2021 14:34

@Penny2020 I’m also working up to 38 weeks and I’m currently working from home. Also agree on the online meetings, I’ve done a few in the last week that have lasted entire afternoons!

Scarftown · 12/04/2021 14:38

I’m thinking of stopping 38 weeks as well. I work from home but I like the idea of having some time to do nothing and maybe prepare for birth etc.

Nesski · 12/04/2021 15:23

@Penny2020 36.5 weeks due 23rd June and last day is 28th May and I literally cannot wait, can't wait to potter around, go to shops, read, hang with mum and dad. 7 weeks left of work officially, but have 2 weeks of holiday to take in between, so splitting it up to work part-time. I'm also v uncomfortable now at 30 weeks, can't imagine how it will be later on!

We will have a spa babymoon an hours drive away from hospital (fingers crossed the weather will be good, as I want to use the outdoor pool). I won't be able to do any of these things on my own again for a long long time, and I'm someone who is quite happy to take a book with me and have a cocktail and sit in a pub/bar all day.

Rhubarbcrumble1890 · 12/04/2021 15:27

Thanks ladies, good to know most of you are going to slog away at it with me.
@Nesski I’M SO BLOODY JEALOUS!!!

Nesski · 12/04/2021 15:37

@Rhubarbcrumble1890 I've slogged it at work the last 11 years of my working life, going to wine(!) and dine myself solo (without giving myself bad bad indigestion) on my husband's credit card the whole time cos I am so ready for time off to myself!

Nesski · 12/04/2021 15:49

As a question for all the second time mums, did your partner get to spend all night with you in the ward in normal times? Or were they only allowed in during visiting hours? Just trying to gauge the levels of support, specifically overnight!

PinkPlantCase · 12/04/2021 15:53

@Penny2020 my last day is when I’m 35+3. I was planning to go to 37+3 but brought it forward by 2 weeks recently.

I work from home but have a lot of responsibility and am expected to work frustratingly long hours.

I brought it forward so if for any reason baby needs to come early then I’d of had time to properly catch up on sleep and de-stress before baby comes. It’s normally takes me atleast a week for A/L to stop thinking about all the work things that need doing so didn’t want to risk being in that head space and having a new born.
