Almost halfway here! 20 week scan the first week in Feb and currently counting down the days.

Loving seeing everyone's growing bump in the Facebook group too.

How is everyone's bumps coming along in here? I find mine is huge in the evenings, still think it's mostly bloat!

Waitingforbabypage · 21/01/2021 07:50

@LBee2020 how are you feeling this morning? Did you manage any sleep? I'm a bad sleeper anyway and use meditation to help, you can find my faves on spotify if you have it or YouTube- search for The Honest Guys guided meditation for deep relaxation. Or there's an app called Headspace there's a part specifically for sleep and they use something called Sleepcasts, it's basically a little story with some white noise in the background- I've yet to hear the endings, they work every time.

@Bleubird I bet you can't wait, January takes forever to go anyway let alone when you're waiting for something good!

Has anyone else been having weird baby dreams yet?
I've had a few- one where I had the baby on my own in the bath (we were both fine though)
One where I gave birth and baby was already a toddler and I was so upset because i couldn't breastfeed.
One where I never got to hold the baby because everyone else got a look in.
🤷🏼‍♀️ hopefully not a sign of things to come 😂

Been keeping in contact with my place of work, we're all currently furloughed, lockdown was meant to end middle of feb, now we're being told it's more likely to be march, I also have 3 weeks holiday I need to take before the 31st may and I planned on leaving a week or so before my due date (7th June)....so by the looks of things, I'm probably not back at work until June 2022!! 😂😭

Tatty1987 · 21/01/2021 07:52

@Bleubird we must be quite close in dates as my 20 week scan is on 08/02. I feel as though my bump just looks like I’ve had a good meal haha. Had a midwife appointment though last week and she felt my tummy and listened for the heartbeat and she said all was fine. I’m 17+4

hayjt24 · 21/01/2021 08:05

@Bella678 oh no, sorry to hear you're struggling with nausea. I have random bursts but it seems to have got better, I'm eating more than I was but tends to be fruit and pasta 😊

Hopefully the capsules will work for you, fingers crossed!

@dragonfly92 I also feel bloated sometimes too and mostly the evenings, I guess its all the changes in our bodies isnt it 😊

theworks · 21/01/2021 08:35

@Bleubird can I join the facebook group? What's the name/link?

I've not felt any movements yet (17+6) but hoping to soon! Think I felt fluttering around 18-19 weeks with my first.

Bleubird · 21/01/2021 09:43

@theworks it's a private group so I think one of the admins has to send the invite.

Mine came from @Happy2be so she may be able to help out xx

Bleubird · 21/01/2021 09:44

@Tatty1987 I think we are very close! I'm due 24th June, 18 weeks today. Can't wait for the 20 week scan, my trust doesn't send the appointment date until 10 days before so I'm currently still (impatiently) waiting for it!

Happy2be · 21/01/2021 10:06

@theworks if you send me your email address through pm ill send you the invite link over for the group 😊

AlRRRR · 21/01/2021 10:13

@Bleubird I'm also due 24th June, 18 weeks today :D I have my 20 week scan on the 4th feb :)

AlRRRR · 21/01/2021 10:16

@theworks I'm 18 weeks today, I leant over after a really full meal and felt 4 kicks one after the other yesterday. Other than that, I've felt things but subtle and wondered if it was or not. I felt movement from about 22 weeks with my 1st few years ago

AlRRRR · 21/01/2021 10:18

@Waitingforbabypage I have really vivid anyway, always remember them every morning and they often repeat after a few months with different endings haha

Pregnancy does make them even more vivid, and I too had a dream that I gave birth to a toddler and was upset because I wanted to feed it hahah

theworks · 21/01/2021 11:27

@Happy2be that would be great. How do I private message on here!? 🙈 sorry I'm usless I am more of a mumsnet reader than poster ha!

@AlRRRR I have felt a few things and wondered if it was baby but passed it off as gas 🤣 it felt different my first where it distinctly felt like butterfly flutters. Maybe it was though!?

northerngal20 · 21/01/2021 11:37

@AlRRRR sorry just finding the new thread to reply to you! my 20 week scan is the 3rd Feb! not long to wait now. That's so exciting about feeling the kicks!! I think i felt my first ones the other day too - it was the most kick-like feeling (i.e. not gas Grin) that i've had so far! hoping they get more frequent now.

AlRRRR · 21/01/2021 12:24

@northerngal20 I too wondered why no one was writing on the thread, until
I tried to reply and it said full hahaha!

I felt 4 kicks last night when I leant over and it went d d d d 😂😂😂

Happy2be · 21/01/2021 14:01

@theworks ive sent you a message so it should be up in your notifications/email

northerngal20 · 21/01/2021 14:27

@AlRRRR eeek so exciting!!!

Whywontitname · 21/01/2021 16:10

I'm 19 weeks and I've been having a few movements, one came after I had a massive sneeze so it obviously didn't like that! I had to go to hospital this week as well and got to listen to the heartbeat and you could hear it kicking about.

Does anyone know that they are being induced? Or know anything about it? I've been told it'll be recommended for me and just wondered if anyone has experience with it! Feels a bit mean kicking the baby out ha.

Nesski · 21/01/2021 18:00

@northerngal20 mine is on the 3rd too, smack bang in the middle of the day at 1pm!!

@AlRRRR can't wait till I feel it too!!! So exciting!!!!

@Whywontitname how comes you know you will be induced already? I haven't actually thought about the actual birth itself!

TerryRose · 21/01/2021 18:01

Great to hear about all these kicks!
Thought I felt one last night but also think I'm still having round ligament pain , hopefully I'll know 100% soon if it's a kick or ligament pain 🤣🙈

@Nesski sorry took some details out as was a bit tmi!

Basically I’m at high risk of pre eclampsia so they think I should get induced at 37 weeks, which is terrifying ha. I hadn’t even thought of the birth yet! This was from seeing a consultant.

Humpty11 · 21/01/2021 19:37

@Whywontitname I was induced at 38 weeks with my son for pre eclampsia and it was fine. I had the pessary about 3pm (which felt a bit like a slightly displaced tampon) and had to be monitored for an hour and after that I just kept walking and drinking as much water as I could. I started getting cramping that evening but a nice hot Bath settled them down enough to get some sleep and then my waters broke at 6:45 the next morning and with a few bits happening in between, he was born at 16:00.
I read so many negatives about induction but it actually wasn’t that bad.
Will they consider delaying induction if your not showing signs of pre-eclampsia?

Whywontitname · 21/01/2021 19:58

@Humpty11 that doesn’t sound too bad actually! I only know one person who was induced and she hated it and said she thought it was more painful, think I’m a bit worried about forcing the baby out. I don’t want to google it because as you said I think there would be a lot of negativity!

I’ve got a kidney issue so the letter they’ve sent from the consultant says that they think I should have an induction if I’ve not delivered at 37 weeks. Not really sure what to do with work etc as well now. I’m seeing them again in feb so will have to ask again but not sure when to plan finishing.

Fishingforhappiness · 21/01/2021 21:23

20 week scan on monday.. i cant wait. I only feel the baby kick once ive climbed the stairs to bed or if i have a can of diet coke! If anyone wants a good laugh... i told my nan i liked the name Orla but my husband doesnt. My grandma has since told all my extended family im calling her oral. My cousin just called in tears of laughter Blush

ChasingARainbow · 21/01/2021 22:00

Had my 20 week scan today, can't believe 5 months in already!! I went with a full badder which was a mistake for the 20 week one so after a few minutes the sonographer asked me to do out for a wee and got much clearer pictures after. All looking well in the scan and baby is in the 50 percentile, placenta is at the front so she said it might take longer to start feeling the kicks.
Feel like I can finally believe this is happening and start planning, hope the shops open soon so we can look for a pram and nursery furniture x
