Hey all,

I know this is bit of a long shot, but is anyone due in March 2021?

I appreciate everyone is from different places, but are there a few ladies that want to create a WhatsApp group or something so we can be “cyber mum friends”?

I know being a mum (or a first time mum in my case) can be very daunting and a scary time, and not only that, but it can be quite lonely.. so it’s be great if a few people would like to become “online friends” so we can just talk and have company/share experiences/worries/how bored they are Hmm

Hi everyone,

Due 10th March with our second (DS is 3) and I'm in South Yorkshire. Generally not doing too bad, but definitely tired and feeling a bit limited with DS (slower chasing after him, getting up from the floor, trying to avoid picking him up etc.)

Impressed at everyone getting organised with hospital bags - and good point about it being harder to get DH to bring extra bits. Will get on that.

@NotThatKindOfDoctor Definitely feel like I should be more active. I can walk DS to nursery and come back before work, which gets in a couple of miles of walking, but it's always really tempting to drive. I think last time I wanted to keep active as long as possible, but I think having a range of places to go/people to go with helped with motivation there!

Mahdia · 13/01/2021 18:24

@NotThatKindOfDoctor spot on!! I can't remember the last time I ran. I went for a walk today to my local shopping centre and got told off by my mum who is anxious about me going anywhere where ppl are around! Bless her I don't blame her as my sister had covid last March and her breathing was so unstable that we thought she wouldn't make it alive!Confused but I really wanted to check out TU's sale section on the baby clothes!! Blush so adorable but because I don't know what I'm having I only came out with two knitted cardigans!!!! Grin

@KB13 that's so true it's taking so long it feels like we've been pregnant forever!!!
Hopefully not long to go now. When are you due? I'm 10th March even though I supposed to be 19th March but the Scan dictated this new date!!!!Grin

Mahdia · 13/01/2021 18:28

@prettygirlincrimsonrose aww we're both due 10th March!! Cool!! Do you know what you're having?

Anyone trying for pool birth (not sure if it's called that) or Birth Centre? Smile

KB13 · 13/01/2021 19:12

@Mahdia Hopefully not, but lockdown isn’t helping. Would of loved to of been able to go out to pass the time. I’m due the 4th March but have a feeling he won’t hold on that long. My eldest wants him to be born on her birthday 😅

MForMed · 14/01/2021 14:01

@Mahdia I'm really imressed you're managing a walk with PGP! I needed a belt + crutches to manage shopping, so gave up on leaving the house altogether Sad, luckily can work from home.

So regarding physical activity all I can do is some exercises on the birthing ball and I'm hoping it all goes away after the baby is born and I can resume a normal (?) life.

On another note, FTMs, where do you get your baby stuff from at the moment?

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 14/01/2021 14:10

Thanks ladies, you’ve made me feel a lot better.

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 15/01/2021 13:53

Doc told me today I need to rest more and that the intense braxton hicks are a warning from my uterus that I’m doing too much. @PowPurry (because you said you’re having intense hicks too) does that sound reasonable to you?

I definitely am doing less this pregnancy than others, resting a lot more (too much if work is anything to go by). I can’t just sit about doing nothing. I have work to do and 3 kids (although DH has taken over all housework and cooking).

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 15/01/2021 18:12

I’ve answered my own question...I’ve done absolutely nothing today and still had some intense braxton hicks 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Mahdia · 15/01/2021 19:11

@MForMed My PGP isn't very bad I can manage walks but can't do sudden movements from floor and get up or even turn in bed!!!! So very sleep deprived atm with a toddler who is used to sleeping in my bed for the first year of her life!!Confused

@NotThatKindOfDoctor I had too much Braxton hicks my last pregnancy as well working as a TA in a primary school and it didn't help, I had to leave in the endHmm

PowPurry · 16/01/2021 12:07

Hi @NotThatKindOfDoctor!

I was actually quite worried last night as I was having about 2 an hour. Normally 5-10 a day.
I’m sat here right now and having one!

Hmm well physically maybe not doing too much, I’m working from home and homeschooling so it’s more mentally draining if that counts?

I will of course keep an eye. It’s all so anxiety inducing.

HungryHippo20 · 16/01/2021 18:42

Well ladies today I've started washing the baby clothes 🥰🥰omg I didn't realise how much we had!! Have only done newborn whites and it's a crazy amount of vests and sleep suits! Tomorrow towels, sheets and blankets then I'll keep the rest of the clothes for next weekend I think! Feels so good to see the wee outfits on the radiators 😍😍

MForMed · 18/01/2021 12:00

@HungryHippo20 Well done! Smile Sounds like you have a lot of baby clothing!
I've started already last week with washing all the baby clothes but need to pace myself ironing as I can't stand for too long, so atm I'm just doing a little ever day.
We've just got the car seat and buggy, so exciting!!! Smile. Trying with DH to organise the nursery ATM and just decided we need a bigger house... Hmm

HungryHippo20 · 18/01/2021 12:12

@MForMed we have far too much actually, I think I counted 50 little vests. But it's because we were given lots by a friend so we've actually bought very little! I'm lucky my husband enjoys ironing (maybe enjoys is too strong, but he does it and I don't 🤣🤣)

My parents are picking up the pram and travel system In next couple of weeks it's so exciting. I just got a lovely little car seat blanket delivered, one of those that stays in the car seat then just wraps round baby - it's gorgeous I can't wait til she's in it coming home 🏡

It's amazing how much stuff comes with such a little person isn't it!!! 😆

Mahdia · 19/01/2021 13:34

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is doing well! Has anyone been having too much Braxton hicks lately or isn't only me! I've got my midwifes appointment today so hope that goes well coz I had preeclampsia my last child (only started when I was 1 week overdue). So hopefully I wont have it this time. 😊

Does anyone know if partners are still allowed to stay until the birth? I've heard otherwise not sure if it's true or just speculations🤔

Last night hubby went on night shift so I watched 3 episodes of America's version of One Born Every Minute!! I never knew it existed KKK after all this years only thought UK do it!! I cried on so many occasions!!!😂 I thought I was the one in labour☺️

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 19/01/2021 17:58

@PowPurry - how you feeling now? I hope less worried. I have actively made an effort to do as much relaxing as possible and it has reduced the intensity/frequency of the Braxton Hicks - although now I have the new problem of being bored as hell 😂😂😂

Hope you’re appointment went well today @Mahdia and you got the all clear for preeclampsia.

Washed all the baby clothes yesterday and finished packing my hospital bag. I’m running out of tasks I can do in order to help me procrastinate re: work 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

HungryHippo20 · 19/01/2021 19:03

@NotThatKindOfDoctor are you still work procrastinating 😂😂😂

HungryHippo20 · 19/01/2021 19:04

Someone told me I'm crazy washing all the clothes.....I've enjoyed it!!

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 20/01/2021 06:58

I am 🙈😂. I just can’t seem to give myself a shake, or if I do, it lasts a couple of days and then I think, bugger it, I’m exhausted.

KB13 · 20/01/2021 10:49

Hey ladies, I had my routine 34 week midwife appointment yesterday, baby’s heart rate was at 200 and wouldn’t come down. So I got sent to be monitored at the hospital, thankfully everything was ok and his heart rate had come back down. He’s a very active baby, I swear he doesn’t sleep. So they think it was just to do with that. Was horrendous having to go in without my husband though 😢 I’m so ready for him to be here now just so I know he is safe. I’m fairly certain my body is getting itself ready for his arrival and I’m hoping he’ll come before his due date but at the same time I think it’s just wishful thinking because I’m so bored of lockdown and homeschooling 😅 how’s everyone else getting on?

Mahdia · 20/01/2021 12:40

@KB13 I also had my appointment yesterday and the baby's heartbeat was 158 beats per minute she said it's at the active side she told me that if it was couple of beats more I would send you to the hospital to be monitored😬. It's not a nice feeling going to hospital by yourself! Hope everything else is good and well. I didn't find out the gender but I'm predicting that if its active maybe a boy? Who knows...some girls are active as well. Wink
I just hope it's a easy going baby as my other daughter had colic and it was so hard 😞 seeing them crying.
I'm 33 weeks today and time somehow is sure dragging its feet!!!!
I am also procrastinating for so much, told hubby to go over some bits of paint for house and paint doors and skirting boards. But his job is bit hectic atm and I can't be asked to paint! So don't know what else to do with myself 😂😂😂😂.

@NotThatKindOfDoctor thank you my appointment was good except bit of fast heartbeat but she said not to worry it's still in the border of expected but maybe it was his/her playtime. Grin

Anyone due early March? I think we got couple of us due first half. Hope everyone is doing better this lockdown. Boredom and binge watching one born every minute isnt helping!!!! I just get emotional after the birth😭😭☺️ such a nice end isn't it? Feels like I'm the one in labour!!!
Does anyone else watch it?
Take care everyone! Xxx and stay safe.

Mahdia · 20/01/2021 12:42

I just realized how much I wrote!!! 🤭sorry peeps

Meggyxx · 20/01/2021 21:16

Hi All,

I hope you don’t mind me jumping on, am feeling really anxious and just after some knowledge from anyone who has been through anything similar really!

I am due in exactly 6 weeks! I have been up the hospital to triage this evening because of reduced movements. I was hooked up to the machine, however the machine usually ticks once it’s happy with everything. After an hour the machine still hadn’t ticked.

I have been sent home but asked to go back to triage in the morning to be monitored again.

Is this normal, could baby just be being quiet?

Smilingdonkey · 20/01/2021 23:46

Hi ladies!
I know a couple of you from another thread!
Due 7th March with DD2

  • it's beginning to feel rather real now isn't it?!
Xx
MForMed · 21/01/2021 13:29

Hi ladies,
This might sound like a strange question, but have you had the same midwife looking after you since the beginning of your pregnancy?

@Mahdia I'm due early March, although if they approve ELCS this might as well be last days of February even Hmm

@Meggyxx Re movements, my baby doesn't have a pattern and he's had some quieter days (which always send me panicking) every now and doesn't want to move even when prompted. He makes up for it the follwing day though. I've been using a kick counting app for the last 2 months just to make sure he does move and trying to keep calm. Big hugs and fingers crossed for you and your little one! Let us know if everything is ok.

Charlotte2020 · 21/01/2021 14:51

@MForMed I've seen the same midwife each time apart from one appt. I think that's just sheer luck though rather than being assigned to one midwife.
