Hey all,

I know this is bit of a long shot, but is anyone due in March 2021?

I appreciate everyone is from different places, but are there a few ladies that want to create a WhatsApp group or something so we can be “cyber mum friends”?

I know being a mum (or a first time mum in my case) can be very daunting and a scary time, and not only that, but it can be quite lonely.. so it’s be great if a few people would like to become “online friends” so we can just talk and have company/share experiences/worries/how bored they are Hmm

So many Scottish mums, I love it! Whenever I get sick of France, I dream to of coming to Scotland. I used to spend so much time there as a kid and love it. If we ever moved back to the UK, I reckon that’s where we’d go.

Me and my DH used to live in Newcastle @Helenknowsbest! My mum is in Morpeth and DH’s is in County Durham, so whenever we’re (allowed) back in the UK (thanks covid) we always stay in the toon!

We’ve not seen either of them in over a year - it’s the longest the kids have ever gone without seeing family. This baby is the first that my mum won’t have met straight away. She was planning on coming but with you guys in lockdown again til February it’s difficult for her to make plans, and she’s a bit nervous to travel without having had the vaccine.

I feel a bit sorry for all you FTMs, maternity leave is supposed to be a fun time, popping into the shops to get everything you need, having coffee with you mum and friends, and then after the baby is born, going to mum and baby groups. And now you’re all locked up! We’re only locked in before 8pm (in other areas it’s 6pm) but pregnant women are advised to go out as little as possible. Ikea was my last gallivant into the world yesterday before my own mini confinement! The schools are still open (for now) but all kids and teachers have to wear masks and wipe down there desks before each class (for the older kids like my DC1) which I’m sure helps. It’s making my life a lot easier. I can’t believe how long you’ve all been expected to work AND look after your kids at the same time. Nearly did me in when it happened here in March 😳

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 05/01/2021 07:46

My due date is April 3rd but because of complications last time I’m having an elective so little one will be a March baby.
I’m in Northumberland and having my second boy.
I’ve suffered with anxiety in this pregnancy too. It seems to have improved but I completely empathise with the feeling of pushing your luck.
I’ve had that exact thought so many times.
I feel a bit down today after the new lockdown announcement. Part of me wanted it to happen because it might mean a better chance of DH being allowed in the labour ward but the other part of me is so sad that I’ve seen no one while I’ve been pregnant. This is the last time I’ll be pregnant and I would have liked the odd day shopping with my friends and Mum and sister. Also DS is so energetic and I’m struggling to keep him entertained without running myself into the ground trying to home school and work.

I'm due 12th March and also had two miscarriages before this one. How are you feeling now in third trimester? X[/quote]
@Sho2207 it was tough during the first two trimesters, such a worrying time! I am a lot more relaxed now that I'm feeling (and seeing!) such a lot of movement. I still panic if I think I've not felt her move much but I think my anxiety has turned now to the birth and the fact I'll soon have a tiny human to look after!!

Last night her movement was off the scale while I was trying to get to sleep!! One kick was so powerful it made my Yelp and my hubby heard it from downstairs so he came to see I was ok!! 🤣🤣

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin I have to admit I felt pretty sad yesterday too I had a little cry about the lockdown. It's just not the same to be thinking about things like adding the finishing touches to the nursery etc without being able to go out and browse shops. It's all gonna have to be online purchases now 🙄i feel like my family and friends haven't really even seen my growing bump and stupidly I've always thought that would be one of the more exciting parts about being pregnant. It's just not the same seeing people online 😣

aureliacecilia · 05/01/2021 08:43

Hello! Yes, there's 105 of us on Facebook now. I'm not one of the admins so I'm not entirely sure adding anyone else works but if this is something you're interested in (as well as this thread - I like a good thread too!) then let me know and I'll try to find out more.

Thunder212 · 05/01/2021 09:32

@HungryHippo20 yeah a growth scan! Because I’m petite before being pregnant I’m on red pathway so will get a few scan before her arrival! I had this with my first too!

@lozablott aw how lovely! When they told me a girl I cried for 2 days! After 4 boys for my partner I didn’t think he could have a girl 😂 we went for a 4D scan just to make sure!

@Sho2207 so sorry to read about your 2 miscarriages!
Oh I wonder if our little ones will arrive on the same day!! I went 11 days early with my first! Have a feeling il go early this time too!

Colorsofthewind · 05/01/2021 10:40

@HungryHippo20 @Thunder212 the app sounds like it might be helpful for me too - where do i find it?! Grin

I'm in Glasgow, I've got an appointment with the midwife tomorrow and it's been scheduled in for a while but hopefully it'll still go ahead as planned. I was treated for Hyperemesis early on but it feels as though I've barely spoken to anyone since then and with it being our first I have been saving up questions for them!

I thought March would be safe too - here's hoping there's an improvement by then! Smile

Helenknowsbest · 05/01/2021 10:55

@lozablott yes forgot to mention husband permanently working from home so it's been fab he can come help now and then (dishes, nappies, nap time) with my son while I'm exhausted and there to help when next one comes too. I feel so unbelievably lucky to have that support. Fingers crossed we get moved in the next 6 months as my bedroom is our bedroom, new babies room and also has a desk for home working. Everytime I panic in thinking how on earth will we all fit, I just remind myself how much we have in comparison with others. Got to look for the positives! X

Helenknowsbest · 05/01/2021 10:59

@notthatkindofdoctor ah how fab! Love Northumberland and Morpeth especially :) we live in Whickham not that far from the Metro centre. Really sad you've not seen each other in so long. Let's get this vaccine out ASAP! Ha. X

HungryHippo20 · 05/01/2021 11:00

@Colorsofthewind it depends if your health board use the app, not all do I'm afraid!

Thunder212 · 05/01/2021 11:27

@Colorsofthewind it’s the app your midwife puts you on instead of the paper notes, it’s got all you apps on it and if there is any updates about anything that’s there too!

Oh I had hyperemesis at the beginning too! How are you feeling now ?

I was meant to finish work start of feb (using holidays) and maternity start beginning of March, but I’m a hairdresser and we are closed until feb so that’s me now until next year!
Such a crazy time right now!

Sho2207 · 05/01/2021 11:42

@HungryHippo20
Ditto on the worrying! Every time I went to the toilet I was looking for blood, every time I had a cramp I was panicking.

Oh the kicks!! My babies head is down and decided to pelt me in the stomach the other day, it actually hurt😂 I think it was amused by my reaction because it decided to do it again 5 minutes later 😂

Sho2207 · 05/01/2021 11:58

@Thunder212
I've got low pappa so already at risk of preterm labour, they've already mentioned me not going passed my due date so I've got a suspicion I'll go earlier ☺️

MForMed · 05/01/2021 13:02

Hi ladies,
Firstly, congratulations to all of us making it into 3rd trimester! Smile
I'm 38, living in Scotland and my due date is 2nd March - first baby after 2 miscarriages.
It would be great to share the pregnancy in the time of Covid anxiety with others who are in the same position Wink
Have you started your online antenatal classes?

Colorsofthewind · 05/01/2021 13:21

@Thunder212 @HungryHippo20 thank you! I'll ask about it tomorrow and hopefully I can get onto that even for the next 12 weeks.

@Thunder212 sorry to hear you were unlucky with it too! I had it really bad until 24 weeks and thankfully it's settled down now, I'm still sick when i get up but nothing like before. I had a hospital stay around the 16 week mark but thankfully only one. That's me just back at work now although working from home and hoping to stop for mat leave mid March! How are you feeling now? Hoping it's passed a bit for you.

It really is such a crazy time!! Sad

Very similar situation to myself!

I've not started mine yet and I have to admit I sort of forgot....😬so thanks for the reminder!! Have you started? I will need to look into this tonight!

serialplanner · 05/01/2021 16:20

Is anyone having surprise and all of a sudden VERY INTRIGUED?

Jasmine9835 · 05/01/2021 18:51

Hi everyone, nice to see a March thread! I’m due 29th March with baby boy no 2, have a 17 month old who is keeping me busy!

I spent the last bit of my last maternity leave in lockdown and it looks like I’ll be starting this one in the same situation Angry oh well I guess that’s what happens when you have a pandemic baby!

Bearcub01 · 05/01/2021 18:59

Hi all!!

Another Scottish, first time mum here. We are in Glasgow and due the 23rd March. I joined a Facebook group from here when I first found out which has been great but now it’s getting closer to baby arrival and with more lockdowns it’ll be good to have more chats and advice!

BuffyFanForever · 05/01/2021 19:04

Hi All, I’m due 13th March with twin boys. Have hyperemisis so has been a really tough 7 months. Looking forward to them coming out! Has anyone discussed birth plans? My midwife said they won’t discuss till 36 week appointment.

Bearcub01 · 05/01/2021 19:15

@BuffyFanForever I had HG too but after 6 months it’s eased off and the ondansetron is making me now function. I have a midwife appointment on Friday but probably won’t discuss a birth plan yet since I’m only 29 weeks. Not sure how often appointments will be now I’m coming to the end?

HungryHippo20 · 05/01/2021 19:15

Had wondered when birth plan would he discussed. I've started thinking about mine but so far all I know is I would like delayed cord clamping (knew nothing about this til I started my book on hypnobirthing!) don't think I'm too keen on assisted birth (appreciate I may not get a choice!) so I'd like to try and avoid epidural and giving birth on my back if I can! Actually like the thought of a water birth..... I've seen so many threads saying don't plan too much as it always changes so I am trying to keep that in mind!
Colorsofthewind · 05/01/2021 20:59

@MForMed congratulations to you too! Smile

I couldn't agree more it's great to share especially with covid anxiety, I've been relatively ok up until now but like you @lozablott, I had a bit of a wobble last night with the latest announcement. I've only just started online antenatal classes but hopefully try to get through a bit this week.

Hope those who suffered/are suffering with HG are getting some relief - I couldn't see an end in sight at one point and it doesn't feel there is enough awareness out there around it. Outside of mumsnet that is Smile It gets better Flowers

Elle887 · 06/01/2021 08:56

Hi hope I’m ok to join inGrin I’m due the 9th of March with my second boy💙

SaraJean21 · 06/01/2021 10:15

Hi! I'm due a girl on 18th March, I have a 20m old boy too. Nice to have a March thread going again 😊

MForMed · 06/01/2021 10:23

@HungryHippo20
I've already started my online classes (the free Ourplace ones), but so far I haven't found them very useful Hmm.
We've done only 4 modules with DH so maybe it gets better, but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend really good and informative ones that might not be free but won't break the bank either! With SMP being what it is every penny counts!

@BuffyFanForever I'm sorry to hear you've had HG Sad , I think even normal morning sickness (why would anyone call it "morning" !!! Angry is bad enough, can't imagine what you and other ladies with HG were going through Sad fingers crossed and big hugs for all of you.

Re birth plan - I have the 32 weeks appointment tomorrow and I intend to ask MW about it, as I'm getting anxious as well. I wish I could know sooner rather than later what the deliveries will look like now that we're in lockdown!
