As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Seems 4am was the time for no sleep today, I was up as well. Gave myself a lie in before starting work instead (benefits of wfh!). Think it might be a day for no camera on in meetings 🤣

Still sleeping lying down but noticing hips / legs are getting more irritated if I lie one way for too long at a time.

IamC · 18/01/2021 10:40

@jbx10 oh the times I have tried to sleep upright but just can't get stay upright. I've been muddling through on my sides but can imagine if I could stay upright that would be sooo much better.

@Muriel84 mat leave buddies! Though I'm on my work computer tying up some loose ends from last week. I'll relax tomorrow....

Safxxx · 18/01/2021 11:10

I was up most night due to heartburn and that awful inbetween the breasts pain, basically my upper chest and back are in more or less in constant pain, but the pain inbetween the breasts can get intense, its like crushing. I ended up crying so much as i was so sleep deprived and couldn't get any due to pain, in desperation i sprayed some freeze spray in the are which took some edge off, later i rubbed with some oil which also helped.
I've not experienced this kind of pain before in previous pregnancies.😢😢😢

Newmumfeb2021 · 18/01/2021 11:22

I still have 5 weeks to go before my mat leave! Exhausted!!
@jbx10 I can only sleep for about 4-5 hours before my hips start hurting badly, so every morning around 4 am or so I am awake due to pain, propped up on 3/4 pillows and sleep upright. My baby also kicks hard around this time so sometimes I am just awake at 4am..

Safxxx · 18/01/2021 11:23

I been using a nornal pillow and a V pillow together for some time now.
Can't imagine sleeping upright.
These days hard to sit/stand/walk/sleep/lie down is all a mission 😢
Yes ladies having a moan day...need to shake this feeling off as its so stressing

Muriel84 · 18/01/2021 11:26

@IamC I have my laptop with me in bed too 😂had the intention of finishing up some stuff from last week but so far have just been procrastinating!

@jbx10 when my hips get too much I change to sleeping propped up. Not completely upright, but three pillows and leaning to one side so bump is off centre. Usually around 4am! X x x

Muriel84 · 18/01/2021 11:28

@Safxxx have you spoken to a doctor? It sounds like you need to ASAP. I’m sure it’s fine but your description sounds like a pain that needs to be checked out today. X x x

OnNaturesCourse · 18/01/2021 11:52

@Safxxx I'd phone the GP and ask to get that discomfort checked out. It's possibly all related to heartburn and reflux but best not to mess around with chest and upper back discomfort.

Safxxx · 18/01/2021 12:07

@Muriel84 @OnNaturesCourse i did mention it to my midwife on last thurs appt, she said its everything just pushed up and squashed and affecting that area.
I was tempted to phone the doctor earlier demand a chest xray lol
But thought being dramatic.
I probably will ring them anyway as my heartburn is not easing off with the liquid, so i'll mention the pain too.
Feel so fed up and got no energy...same time supporting kids remote learning and home work.

Muriel84 · 18/01/2021 15:13

@Safxxx I’d phone them for sure. They will want you to get checked out today, they might say you need to go in now depending on your other symptoms. Pain in the centre of your chest that feels crushing isn’t something you should ignore. X x x

OnNaturesCourse · 18/01/2021 15:15

Definitely give them a call.

Not wanting to worry you but it's symptom to get checked out especially when pregnant! Could be something as "minor" muscle or skeletal but best to be safe.

Safxxx · 18/01/2021 17:33

@Muriel84 @OnNaturesCourse i had a phone consultation with the nurse on duty at our surgery, she too believes its caused by the organs and stomach all squashed up high and the heartburn, shes prescribed some Gaviscon Advance and said if symptoms still persist after a week phone back. Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 18/01/2021 17:44

Glad you got to speak with someone. Least now it'll be on your notes as well, plus hopefully the gaviscon helps!

I'm considering going back on omeprazole because my reflux is so bad again, feel like it's all burnt inside so even when I don't have a flare up it's achy. I feel like I'm back in the first trimester.

Muriel84 · 18/01/2021 18:00

@Safxxx that’s good to hear! I hope the gaviscon helps. I don’t think many things get alarm bells ringing as much as central crushing chest pain so it’s good you got it checked out!

@OnNaturesCourse omeprazole is amazing. I have used it a few times this pregnancy when gaviscon isn’t enough. Fortunately my heartburn and gross taste in my mouth seem a bit better since the baby dropped down into my pelvis. But I had a few weeks of horrible heartburn in the third trimester. And it was my first pregnancy symptom in the first trimester! X x x

babbit87 · 18/01/2021 18:13

Glad you got it checked out. You always know deep down you are fine but there's always that nagging voice saying "but what if?"

Maybe you will have a baby with lots of hair on their head?! Old wives tale but was true for me with DD, terrible agonising heartburn (rolling around on the bed & send DH out in wee hours for Rennie) lived with rennie and gavuscon by my bedside for all of third trimester. DD born with a full inch and half black hair on her head!!

babbit87 · 18/01/2021 18:15

Worth the pain, they look so adorable with hair. DS on the other hand was bald for ages. He looked like grant Mitchell!!!!

Safxxx · 18/01/2021 19:59

@babbit87...Grant mitchel lol🤣
Well my other 3 had head full of hair yet they never gave me such heartburn as this one.
I never knew heartburn can cause so much pain, maybe its a combination of not being physically active much these days and poor posture and uncomfortable lying/sitting positions.
Oh my days...first i wished i don't have him early now i feel like come anytime soon boy, but need to stay strong and he needs to be stayed put for now..hopefully days go quick 🤞

Char41zam · 18/01/2021 21:14

@Safxxx this is by far the worst heartburn I have had and my other 3 has a mop of black curls! Glad you got checked out though and hopefully the new gavsicon helps x

Safxxx · 18/01/2021 21:23

@Char41zam horrible is'nt it 😩
What are you taking for your heartburn?

Char41zam · 18/01/2021 21:29

@Safxxx the green gaviscon tablets I have been through boxes of them! Yes it’s vile it has kept me up so many nights and it also goes into it ears and head it’s so horrible x

Newmumfeb2021 · 18/01/2021 21:56

I used to have heartburn as well, but drinking tons of water before eating eased it out. One more thing that works for, is drinking really cold/ chilled milk. That will ease heartburn instantly :)

PS - I think we may need another page as this one is coming to an end? Does anyone know how to make one and put a link here :) so glad to be able to chat with everyone in the same boat!

OnNaturesCourse · 18/01/2021 22:00

I can start up a new thread. I'll link it in once done x

Safxxx · 18/01/2021 22:01

@Char41zam Awe poor you, have you tried changing them to see what else can help? @OnNaturesCourse and @Muriel84 were mentioning Omeprazole...Maybe you can ask your Doc to prescribe them. Xx
