As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Muriel84 we were told the same, not sure I can bring myself to do it 😂

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 05:15

Its just past 5am and i've been so uncomfortable all night...feel so suffocated and stomach feels so tight. Got the fan on still feel hot and very breathless and got heartburn.....

@jbx10 so along with many things i can't wait to get comfortable in bed again a with a good night sleep..(yeah right sleep will take forever to go normal with baby lol)

Muriel84 · 16/01/2021 07:28

@Safxxx poor you, you are having a rough time of it. Do you have a tens machine? Do you think it might help with some of the pains? I had one of those random nights where my hips don’t hurt I seem to get every few weeks. I don’t understand why as most mornings I wake up and can barely hobble to the loo! X x x

jbx10 · 16/01/2021 08:07

😂 I feel everyone's pain and cannot wait time be able to do all those things!! Looks like tummy sleeping (maybe just a good night sleep in general!) is the one everyone's missing most

@OnNaturesCourse can just tell slightly 😂 I relate to the sex too, I just feel so big and heavy. Plus I can't move around easily so it just makes me fed up!
@Muriel84 piles.. yes!! Every time I feel I've got them under control they seem to get worse again. Think I'm going to have to just accept it is what I is until after pregnancy now. Just thanking the lord they are not as painful as they were.
@SearchingForToes the lockdown Christmas made me crave a baileys even more. I have an unopened bottle ready and waiting 😂 I'm going to have to be strict with just one glass as a treat though as I'm hoping to try BF! Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 16/01/2021 09:38

How is everyone this morning ladies?

@Safxxx that's rubbish about the crappy sleep. I have found myself sleeping on the sofa / in the recliner a few times to stay off my hips.

pampero · 16/01/2021 10:27

Currently watching a breastfeeding class...sounds so simple the way they tell it, not so sure from other stories I've heard! Guess we'll have to see how it all goes once baby arrives!

jbx10 · 16/01/2021 10:31

@pampero I'm also on a breastfeeding class. We may be on the same one! I was thinking the same xx

pampero · 16/01/2021 10:34

Baby Academy one?

jbx10 · 16/01/2021 10:38

@pampero yep!

I did another one of theirs before Christmas too. I wasn't too impressed some was useful but a lot was very much common sense! But I thought I'd give this ago as I really don't know much about bf and want to give it a try x

pampero · 16/01/2021 10:41

@jbx10
Yeh I don't know too much so figured it definitely can't do any harm to have a listen!
Midwife told me some basics last week & another lady got in touch who would normally visit in person but because of covid can't so has sent some stuff to read.
Fingers crossed, we all get a nice latch from the start and life is plain sailing 😊

jbx10 · 16/01/2021 10:50

@pampero yes definitely 😊 this one has been good, there is a lot I definitely didn't know! fingers crossed, I've not been feeling very confident in myself being able to BF - not sure why really, no particular reason. So this has helped me feel like I can do it! X

pampero · 16/01/2021 11:00

@ jbx10 or anyone, are you planning on colostrum harvesting? I didnt know it was a thing until this week

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 11:01

@Muriel84 this time it was'nt the pain, but just very uncomfortable as he's abit higher up i feel very breathless, plus time to time one side of my nostril gets blocked and that does'nt help. The heartburn i bought upon myself as i was hungry ate quite late in the night 😩

jbx10 · 16/01/2021 11:02

@pampero yes, I'm planning on trying when I reach 37 weeks. I've got a lot of those little syringes to give it ago! I'm not sure how you store it though once collected was going to look into that. Has anyone done it before? X

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 11:04

About breastfeeding i was quite keen on doing it for my other kids...but unfortunately after trying so much it just did'nt happen...i was not producing the milk. I will try again this time but i won't get my hopes up.

pampero · 16/01/2021 11:10

@safxxx I think that's the other thing I'm very aware of that it doesn't always work out.
Trying to keep an open mind on everything in general from birth to breastfeeding to generally managing once they're here...got my ideal scenarios but also accepting they may not all happen and will just have to go with the flow at each stage, do what works and not beat myself up if its not option one. I think getting by and keeping baby happy and healthy will be my no. 1, so whatever makes that happen is what we'll have to do 😊

OnNaturesCourse · 16/01/2021 11:13

I collected it with my first, and ended up using none of it 🙄 we got taken and induced unexpectedly and left it all at home then after her birth she wouldn't go near my boob (like at all) and I was so exhausted I gave up. Sort of glad I did as I didn't get any milk in, no sore boobs etc midwife said it could have been the traumatic birth effecting it.

Going to try again this time but again not holding out much hope. Although my boobs have leaked a bit this time so maybe I'll have more luck.

I actually used a breast pump on a super low setting after doing some manual pumping to get it started. Worked really well. I had loads that got binned. I haven't invested in a breast pump this time as I felt the money was wasted so much last time so it'll need to be manually done which I'm not too keen on to be honest.

Muriel84 · 16/01/2021 12:11

@Safxxx oh I know the feeling well. My nose hasn’t been so bad since the nights have gotten a little milder but I was waking up throughout the night with one blocked one before. So annoying. I’ve gone from head under right ribs to bum under left which doesn’t seem to be quite so uncomfortable fortunately. So hard when you can’t get comfy.

I have my colostrum harvesting kit but not attempted yet. Might wait until 37 weeks. Also have not started perineal massage 🙄 pummelling my boobs and vagina just doesn’t feel that appealing right now, dunno why 😝x x x

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 12:14

I cant wait to sip an espresso martini, eat brie and pate, and have a more choice in my clothes! Sooooooo sick of my maternity clothes right now.

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 12:19

Ugh my mumsnet is so glitchy, im always a page behind!

Never heard of colostrum harvesting? I think I'll already feel enough like a milk machine without that!

Feeling a bit low today, quite tearful and don't know why. Everything is getting on my nerves and feeling like a bad mummy to my other two.

Sun is out now, hopefully a walk will perk us all up.

Muriel84 · 16/01/2021 12:27

@babbit87 espresso martini! 😍😍 my partner is so good at making them! Sorry you’re feeling tearful today... that martini is nearly in sight tho! 🍸 x x x

jbx10 · 16/01/2021 12:36

@babbit87 don't be too hard on yourself. It's tough times as it is never mind being in the final trimester as well! Hopefully some fresh air on a nice walk will help & the thought of a espresso martini is not so far away!

OnNaturesCourse · 16/01/2021 12:41

@babbit87 I had a day like that yesterday. I actually cried because DP was getting out the house to go do a food shop and I felt "stuck in" with my DC who had been superglued to my side most of the day.

We ended up all going in the car just for the trip out - and I tell you just being out the house made all the difference. Hope your walk helps xx

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 12:42

@Muriel84 and @jbx10 thank you, its got to be just the hormones raging right? Oh yes, martini in sight! Will def do a bit of pump and dump to have a drink!! Xx

babydust2412 · 16/01/2021 12:46

@babbit87 this pregnancy business is hard work ☹️ having a down day is completely normal, take good care of yourself today and hope for a better day tomorrow 🥰
