As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Feeling very uncomfy today with lots of pressure down below and lightening pains that feel like somebody could be stabbing my cervix when I stand up 😂😂😩😩

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 13:01

@OnNaturesCourse I know how you feel! We sometimes put the kids in the car and just go for a drive. Nowhere in particular but just drive! (Sometimes get a coffee from McD's) makes a huge difference just to feel like the pressure is off for a bit when everyone is strapped in car seats.

@babydust2412 sorry to hear you are feeling so uncomfortable, have you tried resting with a hot water bottle? Only thing i find helps me xx

pampero · 16/01/2021 13:11

@babbit87 youre not the only one with a glitchy app, mines very temperamental in terms only days or times it let's me on!

Sympathise with those getting fed up of staying in, getting quite dull! All for the greater good though I guess.

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 13:30

I think I'm missing the shopping trips i would have been having with my mum to get the finishing touches for baby, outfits I don't need, baby booties, hats etc.... all the things you do to get excited when you're near the end. Not the same online shopping. Its silly really, I really don't NEED anything!

How is everyone else doing on preparations? Xx

IamC · 16/01/2021 15:05

As my induction is next week, we're spending our last weekend of 'freedom'.....cleaning the house top to bottom!

We have so much baby stuff. It takes up so much space. Where do / are people planning on keeping their pram...it's just so in the way. Thinking of hiding it in the car.

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 16:11

@babbit87 Awe i feel you and i'm sure the rest do too.
Defo hormones and this lock down not helping either. I sometimes get stressed with my kids, it don't make us a bad mum were just tired and these last stage of pregnancy is hard at times.
Go easy and rest as much as possible.
Xxx

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 16:14

@babydust2412 try a relaxing bath, your baby is pushing the cervix as hes engaged.
Getting closer now hang in there 💙

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 16:21

@IamC wow your getting very close to seeing your little one 😍
Well i've stored my pushchair in the loft for now as not needed straight away, and car seat and other little things like baby rocker and other little/big things i've bagged up and out them on top of my wardrobe to clear the floor space..rest of the essential stuff i've managed to put in the babies wardrobe. Xx

babydust2412 · 16/01/2021 16:35

@Safxxx @babbit87 Thankyou guys 💙
Feeling very fed up tonight. I feel so clueless like I don't know what to expect. I don't know if what I'm feeling is contractions or baby balling up and making pressure in there that's really uncomfortable 😩💙 I'm just feeling very frustrated and clueless ☹️

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 16:46

@babydust2412 Trust me you will know when your in labour, as that pain will slowly intensify and get regular...until then rest and put your feet up, it will ease the pain down there...trust your instincts and work with your body if it gets any worse don't hesitate to call your midwife or the hospital for advice. Xxx

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 17:36

Thank you ladies, fresh air and now a soak in the bath has made me feel much better. My poor DH dealing with my ups and downs!!

@IamC oh wow only 1 week left til you get to hold LO in your arms! Well done you for cleaning, I haven't got to the nesting stage yet. As for pram, we keep ours in the hall as we use it daily but I know lots of ppl keep them in the car.

Anyone else nesting? Last time I remember scrubbing the bathroom grout with an old toothbrush 🤷🏼‍♀️ Lol!! So far all I've done is washing - moses sheets and liner, carry cot bit of pram, car seat cover, baby clothes.... OK so maybe I am nesting? ☺

@Safxxx thank you for being kind, it is sooooo different being PG with two toddlers in tow isn't it??

@babydust2412 I don't think I've ever had BH but I do get a tight tummy, as Safxx has said you will instinctively know when you are in labour, ain't nothing in the world like it! And defo agree with whoever said it feels much more like your doing a no.2 than coming from your front IYSWIM?? 😆 something to look forward to!!

babydust2412 · 16/01/2021 18:14

@Safxxx Thankyou 😊💙

babydust2412 · 16/01/2021 18:15

@babbit87 I am definitely nesting 😂 cleaned all the windows in my room today, even the seals with a toothbrush 😂 and have tidied my room multiple times 😂 my partner is probably starting to think I'm going crazy xx

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 18:48

Haha love it! Its not even like we're going to have a house full of visitors this time is it?? But of course the baby will judge us if all is not clean!!! 🤣🤣

Char41zam · 16/01/2021 19:50

@IamC wow didn’t realise your induction was so close! Are they able to just break your waters or are you having another method? My pram is sitting all set up in my room with a cover over it until we have her and then we plan to put it near my front door, will take the car seat part to hospital with us and when she is home we will add the actual proper pram part on x

Char41zam · 16/01/2021 19:52

@babbit87 I just scrubbed with ceramic hob with astonish cleaner lol and I’m on my 3rd load of washing, have eventually packed little ladies case this evening! Just mine to do tomorrow 😊

babydust2412 · 16/01/2021 20:13

I'm having pains that are like the pains you'd get on your period, I feel very crampy and have a lot of pressure down below, not sure what to think but it's definitely more uncomfortable than what I've been having before xx

Char41zam · 16/01/2021 20:35

@babydust2412 how many weeks are you? I’m 36 today and have had cramps pains for a good week or so now xx

babydust2412 · 16/01/2021 20:37

@Char41zam I'm 37+3, not having tightenings as such but period pains with a lot of pressure xx

Char41zam · 16/01/2021 20:59

@babydust2412 probably just your body getting ready, I will be induced 2 weeks on Thursday if she doesn’t make an appearance before x

babbit87 · 16/01/2021 21:36

@Char41zam good job on getting the bags packed!

@babydust2412 I felt like that for the last few weeks with my little boy, his head was pushing so low it was almost painful, like his head was a battering ram on the "exit". Felt like if I sneezed or coughed he would fall out! He stayed in until I was induced at 38 weeks tho. It feels different for everyone and also for each pregnancy xx

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 21:44

@babbit87 your comment about not having visitors around, and baby judging us had me in stitches 🤣🤣🤣
Lol so true though haha
I'm doing what i can but to be honest i get so tired and in pain that i can't carry on. So slowly but surely will get there.

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 21:54

A tip ladies...i just remembered myself.
Get a bed mat or mattress protector for the side you sleep on, incase your waters break in the middle of the night or you have a bloody show, atleast you won't be scrubbing the bed before you go hospital lol.
It happened to me in the last pregnancy my waters were leaking like a tap on low, and my bed got wet.
For my first the midwife broke my waters towards the end, and for my 2nd they broke in the hospital bath while i was in last stages of labour.
I've just recently redecorated my bedroom have new beddings, so i'll be definetely protecting mine just in case 🤞

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 22:00

@babydust2412 i think the signs for you are picking up, but sometimes these signs can just drag on till the labour starts.
Until then just keep yourself distracted and stay strong 💙

babydust2412 · 16/01/2021 22:36

Thankyou ladies, so nice having such a supportive group on here 💙 xx
I think it's my body preparing itself for when the big day comes x
