As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

Unusual one, but maybe you ladies can help me out here...

As I've said I've had crazy discharge this pregnancy, and proper "ovulation" snot like discharge for about a week well last night and today things just completely dried up. Completely. Even when I'm not pregnant I've never been so dry. It's not uncomfortable or anything tho. But when I go for pee afterwards I get a little small gush that I hear hitting the water...not sure if it's discharge or something else but it doesn't feel like more urine if that makes sense.

Anyone else experienced similar? I'm wondering if it's baby pushed down so low things are having a harder time working the way out?

Char41zam · 16/01/2021 22:42

I have a waterproof mattress protector, it’s also good for if you have bad periods which I do, before I got pregnant I thought I was going through the change as my periods were all over and so heavy but on the first scan they told me I had 2 fibroids so it must have been due to them, the amount of times I had to strip the bed too even with 2 massive pads so that’s a good tip @Safxxx

OnNaturesCourse · 16/01/2021 22:47

Yes, I plan on getting a protector too... I had one with my first and never needed it for waters but it came in very handy with night feeds and changes etc. Unfortunately we have a new bigger bed now so need a new protector but well worth the investment.

Safxxx · 16/01/2021 22:55

@OnNaturesCourse i wouldn't worry as it won't stay dry for long lol
I get wet/dry days.
And i also sometimes feel something drip down after wee in the toilet, now i have a habit looking back before i flush, and the culprit is always discharge. Even when i give a wee sample to hospital or midwife i see discharge in the bottle.
My baby ain't even head down.
All part of pregnancy, hormones too. Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 17/01/2021 00:07

I haven't been able to see anything in the loo when it gushes oddly, and yes my daily urine samples normally always have discharge in them 😳 pregnancy is awesome lol.

The discharge overflow was a issue in my first pregnancy too but it never dried up like this.

IamC · 17/01/2021 10:21

@Char41zam to be honest I'm not sure what the plan is.

I had been led to believe I'd be having a c section due to my fibroid the whole way through, and I had a change of consultant for my final growth scan and she said she'd never advocate for a c section.

However, the scan showed my fibroid has only moved 1-2cm, so I've demanded another scan which I get on Wednesday to make 100% sure that a vaginal exit is safe.

I only realised I'd been booked for an induction as I left the room and looked at the slip she'd handed me - I thought it was the scan slip, but it was a date and time to attend labour ward. I've literally been given zero info, though have done my own research so don't feel totally clueless

Safxxx · 17/01/2021 10:29

@IamC surely they should have discussed any induction plans with you, and not let you just leave with a slip like that.
Hopefully all is well and you go on to having it naturally 🤞

Safxxx · 17/01/2021 10:37

Hi ladies i had my growth scan this morning and it seem's all is looking well.
Baby is measuring 5lbs 14oz which is the exact weight my youngest was born at 36wks.
So if i go full term it will be over 6lbs +
Which are the weights for my eldest two kids born full term.
Feel so blessed that all is looking good.
I know scans are not 100% accurate either but i'm reassured at the moment that all is looking good.
Baby has been active over the last few days, heart monitoring has been normal so i'm relieved. Xxx

babydust2412 · 17/01/2021 11:19

@Safxxx I'm so glad for you, what a relief 💙😊 x

IamC · 17/01/2021 11:19

That's great news @Safxxx

wannabe123 · 17/01/2021 11:20

@Safxxx glad to hear you've had a good scan and that baby is measuring well. My baby was measuring 5lb something at my 32 week scan - crazy to think what he might weigh when I go for my next scan on Wednesday.
I've not had any discussions about birth with my consultant yet. I'm hoping/assuming I can still have a naturalal birth but I suppose it will depend on whether the little man has gone head down yet and what's going on with my cyst. The last scan showed the cyst is being squashed so I don't know if that will impact birth.

jbx10 · 17/01/2021 11:25

@Safxxx great news!! Glad everything went well & baby growing well. ❤️ xxx

Newmumfeb2021 · 17/01/2021 11:41

Hi ladies - not sure if anyone is going through this - I’m having trouble sleeping at night due to headaches (and other aches) but headaches have primarily been happening since a couple of days - throughout the day and then more at night. My water / food intake is normal. My BP has always been on lower end of 90/60 throughout the pregnancy. I’ve not had preeclampsia symptoms so far. And MW had ruled that out in last week’s appointment. I’m 34+1 weeks today! ☹️

Safxxx · 17/01/2021 12:07

Thankyou all 💙
@wannabe123 i'm 35 wks tday so your baby will be around the same weight. Hopefully you go on to have a normal delivery 🤞
@Newmumfeb2021 yes having headaches are quite normal at any stage in pregnancy and specialy now...i've been luccky so far only had some in first timester, but last few days head feels heavy and i get light headaches, but that could have been due to me stressing over the baby.
Instead of having paracetamol try forehead strips they can be cooling and do help, make sure your drinking plenty too.Xx

pampero · 17/01/2021 12:29

Glad the scans are going well & babies are looking like nice healthy weights 😊
@newmumfeb21 randomly I have had a couple of headaches with sharp pain these last couple of days, didnt think too much of it but may well be all the hormones and stuff. I did find massaging my temples helped ease it a bit.

Muriel84 · 17/01/2021 12:38

@Safxxx that’s great news! Is your next check with the midwife at 36 weeks?

@IamC that’s absolutely appalling that no one discussed induction with you and just have you a bit of paper like that...

@babydust2412 how are you feeling this morning? Has the discomfort eased? I’m getting a lot of pressure and some on-off pain in my cervix/pubic bone... could not get comfy yesterday eve. Sat on my ball for a bit but made groin pain worse... x x x

Safxxx · 17/01/2021 13:14

@Muriel84 thanks, i usually see my my midwife every 3wks but last week she said she will see me in 2wks time due to whats happening.
Awe i hope your pain eases, your getting closer now so it will build up...
I sometimes get shooting pains in my cervix lasts couple of secs then gets better, all that pushing down from baby impacts it.
Getting alot of heartburn since last 2 days so been taking liquid for it...these symptoms are never ending ehh 😩

babbit87 · 17/01/2021 14:32

@Safxxx great news! Glad all is well

Char41zam · 17/01/2021 14:53

@IamC that’s terrible that they have left you in the dark like that! I hope you get clarity about what’s happening and it all works out well.

@Safxxx that’s great that baby is growing away nicely 😊 do you feel a lot better now?

I am having the worst insomnia of my life, I cannot sleep for the life of me and I’m shattered 😕

Stef92 · 17/01/2021 15:03

@Safxxx great news that all is well!

We've started doing some meals for the freezer today so we just need to put them in the microwave when the little one is here. I'm shattered from making just one pan of soup, he's wriggling right under my bra which seems to be his favourite thing at the moment!

Idkwt2do · 17/01/2021 15:13

Hi everyone.
It’s been lovely to find a thread with people in the same situation. It’s been a very long isolated 9 months, I’m due to give birth next week and I’m
absolutely terrified, for the last 2 months I’ve felt like I’ve been holding baby in. It’s been so painful, constant low pressure, but I’ve tried to deal with it alone.
I’ve not heard from a midwife or had any urine
or blood tests etc since 26 weeks. I had a scan at 36 weeks, that had been booked weeks before, but she literally said ‘everything is fine’ and I left, I didn’t have any tests, or even a slight conversation.....
I’m scared to call a midwife now, I think they have forgotten about me, I really need a home birth otherwise il be in hospital alone, we have no childcare for my other 2 children, I don’t know what to do, I think I’m burying my head in the sand.
Does anyone know if there are any restrictions on having home birth at the moment? Do you think I have left it too late and they will just send me off into hospital?
It all feels like such a mess. so exhausted.

Safxxx · 17/01/2021 15:15

@Char41zam yes thanks i feel alot better knowing baby is healthy and growing well.
Oh i feel your pain on not sleeping, i'm so tired but when i hit the bed can't sleep.
I upstairs in bed now as i thought i would get a little nap, again the minute i got in my heartburn started and my area between the breasts is so sore it's like its crushing my bones...i.did mention this to midwife last week she said could be as everything is pushed up its impacting it...going back downstairs now as can't get comfortable at all 😢😢

Safxxx · 17/01/2021 15:18

@stef92 great idea about freezing meals it really does help 👍🏼

Safxxx · 17/01/2021 15:24

@Idkwtdo i'm so sorry to hear what your going thru...Awe poor you..i think you should persue your midwifes and get more support, i don't see any restrictions on home birth if all is well, but honestly i can't understand why they have not seen you?
As if its not already hard on top of that your dealing with all this uncertainty.
I hope all goes well for you and you get more support 💙

jbx10 · 17/01/2021 15:27

@Idkwt2do sorry to hear your feeling that way and the experience you have had with your MW does not seem right you haven't had an appointment since 26 weeks.

I know my local trust is still carrying out homebirths and has not stopped them throughout the pandemic. It does vary from trust to trust. I agree with @Safxxx I would definitely pursue your MWs some more. Try and arrange a telephone call to put in place a birthing plan. I'm sure if you explain the lack of contact you've had they'll try to support you quickly xxx
