As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Safxxx yup I measured 33cm yesterday. Midwife and student midwife checked. I measured 32cm at 32 week check. I’m 36+2

My growth scan showed consistent growth tho was difficult to get head measurement because head is so low in my pelvis. I asked the obstetrician I saw about the 33cm measurement and she said fundal height measurement isn’t accurate for anyone at this stage cos everyone’s bump drops as baby starts engaging.

Fundal height is one of those things midwives do that doesn’t have much evidence to support it. I’d really not worry about it! X x x

@jbx10 thanks, i remember not long ago i was reassuring you on the same subject, just shows i should listnen to my own advice lol. I guess unless you go thru it yourself its another thing. Yep i have to go in hospital later tday and tmro for the heart monitoring 💙

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 13:23

@Char41zam thanks i understand for those of you going for growth scans the midwifes won't do her measurements.

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 13:26

@pampero thats reassuring, i have been reading online too, many have said they been told the opposite to what happened, apparently even the scans can be wrong so i guess we just got to try to look after ourselves eat/drink right take our vitamins and hope for the best 🤞

jbx10 · 15/01/2021 13:27

@Safxxx let us know how your check up app goes today! I'm sure you'll feel much better after your scan on Sunday when they can give you much more accurate idea. It's just a shame you've had to wait a while for the scan as it will understandably play on your mind until then. 🤍

I'm convinced my baby has turned. Her head was tucked really low on my scan last week but I have a feeling she's moved other way round now 😫 waiting for my next growth scan for them to tell me! Xx

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 13:29

@Muriel84 thanks...as long as baby is growing all should be fine...mine is getting back to being quite active again from the previous days...so thats very reassuring.
At times i ease my mind knowing all is well...then out of nowhere it hits me again and i start searching google or like what i'm doing now tagging you all 🤣🤣

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 14:26

@OnNaturesCourse just shows how wrong they can be ehh 🙄

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 14:34

@jbx10 i'm sure your baby will engage in its own time, my one is head down but not engaged, but as i'm not a first time mum its normal...you still got time for it to get into position....i'm not too worried about the heart monitoring i know it will be fine..but yeah waiting for Sunday's scan, in a way i'm excited to see the baby more then anything else, as i've never had later scans in any of my pregnancies, only had the 2 routine ones. So kinda looking foward to seeing this stage in the womb 😍

pampero · 15/01/2021 15:24

Google is both a blessing and a curse eh!

Muriel84 · 15/01/2021 15:25

@Safxxx glad baby is wiggling lots showing you it’s dancing skills. They gave me a photo yesterday cos they wouldn’t let my partner in - a very blurry image of the leg and back! He wasn’t impressed...

Google is the worse. I have tortured myself on google way too often.

The MW who saw me yesterday wasn’t sure which way up it was but said it definitely wasn’t fixed. She thought head down. Turns out it’s very fixed head down so it’s really hard to feel what’s what. X x x

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 16:14

@Muriel84 they can easily take a nice still picture of scan if they wanted to...don't see why they do that🙄
Seem's like your babies head is deeply wedged. Xx

IamC · 15/01/2021 18:33

Hopefully your scans will put your mind at ease about the growth - I've heard the measuring isn't really standard practise. I've certainly not been measured by my midwife.

Weird how standards and practises vary so wildly.

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 19:42

@IamC i should learn my lesson from previous pregnancy measurements, 2 out of 3 times they told me i'm measuring small, but never once did they offer me a growth scan.
I think the doctor i saw at the Assesment unit was very good who arranged all this.
By the way my other babies were not low weight at all.
Quite average

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 19:50

Whilst i was waiting to be seen today for heart monitoring...i was chatting away to a lovely lady, would you believe it she has been having contraction pains since 35 wks, they gave her some steroids or something to hold it in longer, shes 37 + 5days now and poor woman was in so much pain...she had gone in yesterday too but was sent away, but tday they checked again shes dilated to 4cm and sent her to delivery suite..
It's her 3rd baby and she was saying in frustration I'M NOT HAVING ANY MORE
I said i said that once now i'm preg with my 4th
She looked at me said WELL I MEAN IT
Awe bless her we couldn't stop laughing 🤣🤣🤣

jbx10 · 15/01/2021 19:50

Question for you ladies... What is something you can't wait to do again after pregnancy ?

... I can't wait to have a large glass of baileys on ice 😂 & also to be able to sleep on my front again! Xx

babydust2412 · 15/01/2021 21:13

@jbx10 I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again! And eat patè 😂 xx

jbx10 · 15/01/2021 21:49

@babydust2412 mmm pate - that's a good one!😂

Char41zam · 15/01/2021 22:03

I can’t wait to sleep on my tummy and get up out of bed without my back or pelvis cracking!

wannabe123 · 15/01/2021 22:16

Ooo I can't wait to sleep on my front again either and have a nice cold glass of prosecco!

IamC · 15/01/2021 22:18

Agreed on tummy sleeping - and I want to eat chocolate and cake. Not normally a pudding person, but the fact that GD means I can't have those things, now want them more.

SearchingForToes · 15/01/2021 22:26

I’d say tummy sleeping and alcohol (I REALLY fancy a Baileys now - thanks @jbx10 😂) but with breastfeeding probably not for a while...

It’ll be nice to get back to normal exercise though! And to eat halloumi without an interrogation from DH... 🙈

Muriel84 · 15/01/2021 22:32

@jbx10 oh my gosh where do I begin?! Sleep on my front, drink a nice glass of wine, maybe even go for a jog, not have to drink two glasses of vile movicol a day 😭😭😭 my piles to shrink! Wear normal clothes... Breathe easily, put my socks on without groaning....

OnNaturesCourse · 15/01/2021 22:33

Must admit I've failed at the no pate rule - but instead of having it weekly it's a maybe once a month treat on one bit of toast instead of 4 lol..

I can not wait to sleep on stomach, one leg curled up round the covers, hands under the pillow style lol. I can not wait for the carpel tunnel to hopefully disappear. I can't wait to go back to monitoring my BP and dipping my urine weekly instead of daily. I can't wait to pick my little one up with getting sore or breathless, or play spin her around or similar. I can't wait for the super unhealthy cravings to go away lol. I can't wait to have sex without feeling like whale or that I'm squashing DP 😳 I can't wait to do anything and everything without getting breathless.

I'm so over pregnancy, can you tell 😂🤷‍♀️

Safxxx · 15/01/2021 22:35

I can't wait to control my bladder again 🤣🤣🤣

Muriel84 · 15/01/2021 22:36

@SearchingForToes my midwife on my antenatal class told us it was fine to bf and have a small glass as long as you bf as you drink it so you’ve metabolised it all by the next feed. Doesn’t look that good tho does it?! Babs on one arm, glass of wine in hand! 🤣
