9+1 today, and I’m back to feeling totally rotten! I’d had a few days of feeling almost normal and worried about them instead of taking advantage of them. Blush is anyone else having to work with a mask all day? I’m a pharmacy tech and spend 8-9 hours a day with a mask on, and it’s really not helping the nausea. I had to keep taking it off to have a breather this afternoon.

Fruitloops34 · 09/11/2020 21:25

Do any of you sometimes read some of the threads on here and say to yourself “this has got to be a piss take”?

@swiftt you are so nearly through the other side however my sickness has turned into back ache. Not sure what was is worse lol! But 9weeks! Well done!

fattymumbum · 09/11/2020 22:54

@swift, yeah I'm a community pharmacist, so wearing a mask all day long. But I actually struggled so much I've been off sick for weeks. I was leaning on the bench the whole time and could hardly think straight, my legs were quivering. After the manager had to get another pharmacist to help check the backlog, she asked why I was even in! Thought it probably wasn't safe.

Going back on Monday, feeling better. Think the bad smell from the masks don't help, I really feel for you xxxxx

fattymumbum · 09/11/2020 22:58

@rosegoldivy, sounds like you've had a horrid time. Hopefully you'll be through to the other side soon. 12 weeks is the start of feeling better so it'll come for you in the next few weeks. Make sure you rest or it'll be so much worse. We're all here for you xxxx

Gaxy1 · 10/11/2020 06:17

I’m a nurse but I’m partly based in an office so it’s only part of the day I’m wearing a mask. I’d struggle if it was all day.

PinkRoses20 · 10/11/2020 07:55

The masks are awful with nausea i feel for you guys wearing them in work. I struggled just with going to the shops. Good news is it should pass. Mine was around 14/15 weeks 😊

sunnysideup3 · 10/11/2020 08:32

I agree about masks being awful for nausea. I don't need to wear them for work but still struggle when wearing them for more than 30 minutes. Mine are linen which I can tolerate, can't even use the disposable ones.

I'm 9+5 today and the nausea is back 😭 I had a really good few days at the start of week 9, I let myself hope that nausea was gone for good.

TallulahTaboo · 10/11/2020 08:48

I don't envy you all with the nausea 😢 I had mine until week 15 and literally tried everything. The only comfort it brought me was when my MW told me that bubs must be growing strong and healthy to be feeling so ill. Not sure if that entirely true but it certainly made the whole thing that 5% more bearable 😂

I did find that travel wrist bands worked for a few days. I think they were £6 from Boots.

Gaxy1 · 10/11/2020 08:52

The wrist bands didn’t work for me. Stemetil seems to be helping. I think I’m getting a bit more used to feeling crap all the time.

ladymary86 · 10/11/2020 10:07

Hi again! Just place marking

Queenbee95 · 10/11/2020 10:52

My nausea and sickness went away around week 11/12, guess I’m a lucky one! I was spewing up to 8 times a day though so I am glad it’s gone! Sometimes get nausea throughout the day now but it’s nothing like before.

We’ve booked a sexing scan for this Saturday ❤️ I’ll be 16+1. I wasn’t too fussed about finding out early, or even at all, but I am rather excited to see baby again so soon

TheDaydreamBelievers · 10/11/2020 15:01

I've been so lucky with nausea but the last few days am getting lots of 'accommodation pains ' aka pelvic twinges and twangs! Hoping they are not indicative of later pelvic girdle pain or SPD! Hmm

Buffbeag · 10/11/2020 15:51

@TheDaydreamBelievers I keep getting my them too especially when I am just getting up with lower back pain as well

singleandttc · 10/11/2020 20:04

@swiftt @fattymumbum omg the masks! They're awful in pharmacy. 9 hours in a smelly medical mask is just horrible. Ive been off sick for 3 weeks now. The last day I worked I spent half the day hugging the "lovely" staff toilet. Even though I brushed my teeth after each time ( I know it's bad for your teeth but I can't handle the taste) I could still smell it on my breath all day in that horrible mask. It was absolute torture.

sunnysideup3 · 11/11/2020 11:06

Nausea is now worse than it was in weeks 5-8... Went to get some groceries last night and couldn't decide whether I'll pass out or throw up before I get out! Thankfully I escaped before any of that happened. Fingers crossed nausea ends soon.

How is everyone feeling today? 😊

Welliedays · 11/11/2020 12:43

How many weeks are you now @sunnysideup3? My nausea seems worse again now, I'm 17 weeks. But I think it might be linked to my low blood pressure. Very frustrating though!!

Gaxy1 · 11/11/2020 12:48

@sunnysideup3 how far on are you?
Hope you’re feeling better today.

sunnysideup3 · 11/11/2020 13:25

@Welliedays @Gaxy1 I'm going to be 10 weeks tomorrow. The good part of the current nausea is that I now only get nauseous in the afternoons. So I just do most of my work in the mornings and if I feel really terrible in the evening I just send myself to bed early.

Hope you're both doing well!

GrandTheftWalrus · 11/11/2020 14:15

Got the date in for my 20wk scan. Itll be on 31st Dec at 2.30pm but its in a different hospital from my 12wk one. Last time they were both at the same hospital.

They originally tried to give me 8.40am but my dh doesn't finish work till 8.30am so I would have no one to look after dd. However she can go to my mums so he can come with me.

Gaxy1 · 11/11/2020 15:33

@sunnysideup3 Some days are worse than others. I do feel I’m getting used to feeling crap and it isn’t taking over my day so much. I’m only 7 weeks but have been feeling nauseous since I found out I was pregnant.

barbiemummy20 · 11/11/2020 15:34

@GrandTheftWalrus your 20 weeks scan is the exact same date and time as mine 👶🏻 hoping hubby is allowed to come to this one too 💓

GrandTheftWalrus · 11/11/2020 16:08

Me too that's why I changed the date. Hed have had to cancel his shift for the original date as since they've cut our shifts at work that won't be happening lol.

How far on will you be then? I'll be 21+2

Welliedays · 11/11/2020 18:15

My 20 week scan is 8th December when I'll be nearly 21 weeks. I think some hospitals no longer do 20 week scans and only do 12 week ones which is maybe why you have to go somewhere different this time @GrandTheftWalrus

barbiemummy20 · 11/11/2020 19:07

@GrandTheftWalrus I will be 21+5 at scan, have a gender scan on 27th Nov 👶🏻
